Chapter 415 - 179 I Understand You Are Ready to Protect Me (10k)_4
"These people... are true shepherds of gods, who sow Divine Power into the earth on behalf of the deities. To face the Church and to face the gods are two different concepts,"
After a long silence, Kael finally said, "Yet, they don’t treat us as ’insects.’ Those who pray are deadly serious about wanting to eradicate us, so we can only flee."
Dr. Osborne raised his head and looked at Kael, their gazes intersecting. Kael pondered as he observed his serene eyes.
Dr. Osborne smiled, "That may be true, but you’re also tired of these meaningless retreats, aren’t you?
"Join us, Captain Kael. The future of Wandong City is already being throttled. Without enough goblins and resources, we will soon regress to a savage society."
"You want me to help you just based on this?" Kael pointed at the Godslayer Artifact, "Please, don’t tell me that your so-called permanent solution to the Chosen of God is to have me wield this thing in a desperate fight against him?"
Dr. Osborne laughed, "When we found the remains of the Evil God, we discovered it had nearly absorbed all the alchemical pollution released by surrounding doomsday bullets. That thing’s corpse was like a vortex, ceaselessly drawing in any absorbable energy.
Later, as you know, we brought those remains back for research."
With that, Dr. Osborne paused for a moment, giving Kael a few more glances before slowly continuing:
"So far, only the power emanating from the body of a god can better demolish the Chosen who act in place of gods.
The simplest method, then, is to meet force with force, king against king, luring them into the domain we are most skilled in, and then overcoming him with our extensive experience."
Kael quietly observed the flesh squirming inside the jar. As if it sensed something, the piece of flesh etched with Kael’s face slowly turned to face him. Kael’s mouth twitched, revealing a somewhat wild smile:
"You really think highly of me, don’t you! Go on, what are the other plans?"
His hand caressed the glass jar, developing a strong fondness for the "Godslayer Artifact" even though it was not yet in his possession.
Deep down, did he still hope to destroy all enemies with absolute violence?
"We still have one Doomsday-5B and two Doomsday-4104s," Dr. Osborne said unhurriedly, "In the small-scale test detonations two months ago, we have already crafted the last of the Evil God’s Flesh into the casing of the doomsday bullets.
"Once the explosion occurs, the doomsday bullets made from the remnants of the Evil God’s Flesh will directly rip through the Divine Power barrier constructed by the Mobile Church.
"This is our final counterattack. Afterward, the heavy task of killing the Chosen will fall on you."
It was then that Kael noticed all the goblin researchers in the room were looking at him. Their gazes were so heavy that he momentarily averted his eyes:
"You’re oversimplifying things. The Chosen and the praisers are different. Even if I agree to help you, there’s no guarantee I can overpower a true Chosen, not to mention, I need to prioritize the lives of my kin."
A shadow flickered across Kael’s eyes. Every Chosen was difficult to kill, and with his own power limited, how could he possibly risk his life against a Chosen...

Not to mention, he might directly confront Old White.
Seeming to understand Kael’s hesitation, Dr. Osborne said, "I know this is a certain death mission. That’s why we need to reverse the order."
"Reverse the order?" Kael mulled over it and, upon seeing Dr. Osborne’s indifferent gaze, felt a slight stir in his heart.
"Aside from essential energy, the remaining energy in Wandong City can still support one ’targeted teleportation.’
"Are you so certain that I would go and fight a decisive battle with the Chosen? Leaving aside whether I can beat a Chosen, if it were you, would you willingly go to your death?"
Dr. Osborne laughed out loud, speaking softly, "What was the mission you accepted after arriving at the Historical Echoes?"
Kael hesitated for a moment and then recounted the series of missions that could be deemed as calling for the extinction of his race.
Dr. Osborne, upon hearing this, not only showed no anger but instead chuckled loudly, saying, "Good, very good. This just proves that we are on the right path."
"How do you draw that conclusion?" Kael asked curiously.
"It’s simple. The desire to eradicate us shows that our research has become a threat to the rule of the divine. What they desperately want to wipe out is exactly what they fear the most. How can I not be pleased?" @@novelbin@@
Dr. Osborne spoke cryptically, and Kael was unsure what he was trying to convey, but soon the fiery-eyed doctor looked at him and posed the question:
"Boy, what do you think is the difference between the divine kingdoms of the deities and the earthly nations of the netherworld?"
Kael contemplated for a moment, saying, "I haven’t seen the divine kingdom, but I’ve heard that deities have a strong control over it. Whenever a believer dies, their soul flies toward the boundless sky, ultimately answering the call of the divine, entering the divine kingdom, and becoming a praiser.
For many devotees who deeply trust in their deities, this is probably a fine outcome."
"It seems that many people in later generations no longer know the difference between divine kingdoms and the continent of divinity..." Dr. Osborne sighed and asked, "Do you know that there are no Dungeons in the divine kingdoms?"
What do you think?
