Chapter 542: Starlight Cafe
When Ning Yi brought up such an enticing offer, it would be criminal to not take it. @@novelbin@@
Thus, Xu Feng faked a cough and relented. "Fine, I suppose I should help you out as your brother. I can’t just afford to let you suffer and lose your chance to stay with Catherine." Experience more tales on Freewebnovel
"Thank you, Brother Feng!" Almost immediately, Ning Yi cheered loudly and seemed to be running away.
A second later, Xu Feng heard Ning Yi reporting to Catherine that he got the job done and that everything was smooth sailing.
"..."
Speechless, Xu Feng realized this Simping Ning Yi would always become a whipped person in front of Catherine.
’He doesn’t have a backbone at all.’ He thought to himself. As the phone was still ongoing, he heard more disgusting crap from Ning Yi’s mouth, prompting him to end the call instantly.
Those cheesy and cringey lines— maybe only Catherine could handle them and not vomit on the spot.
Sometime later, Xu Feng went to the bathroom to freshen up and finally replied to Allison’s message.
Since she even went as far as subtly threatening Ning Yi about it, then he was positive that she didn’t simply want a meeting to discuss his absences.
With how whipped Ning Yi was, he was destined to have slipped out a few hints or so regarding his involvement with Dean Qiao. It wouldn’t be obvious, but with Allison’s quick thinking, she could easily piece the jigsaw puzzles together and obtain a conclusion of her own.
"So be it. I’ll just meet with her and treat her like a proper student." Xu Feng glanced at his reflection through the mirror and smirked evilly.
As a proper student, he would definitely do his best to provoke and irritate her to the brink of insanity.
How else was a student supposed to repay their professor if not this?
Shortly after responding to Allison that he could meet up with her at Starlight Cafe, he changed his outfit to a more casual one. There was no need to dress fancily for a professor.
When he finished changing, he walked outside to the living room and didn’t spot Erica around the premises.
"I wonder if she’s working or attending school." Xu Feng murmured to himself. This was the question that he hadn’t bothered to investigate.
He was positive that Erica was someone around his age, so she must have been rich and come from an influential family to afford a condo in the Apex Tower.
By that logic, Xu Feng expected someone from her family or someone else to be hounding or threatening him, demanding he leave the condo. Yet none of that happened and he was still living in the condo completely fine.
Although Xu Feng could easily ask Ning Yi to do some investigation on his behalf, he refrained from doing so. Erica investigated him briefly because she was renting her condo out to a stranger so it was understandable, but him investigating her would be similar to a breach of trust between tenant and owner.
’Eh, whatever,’ Ultimately, Xu Feng once again brushed aside these complicated thoughts and decided to simply wait if he would have someone making a move against him.
For now, he simply exited the condo and used the elevator to go toward the parking lot and find his car.
Vera’s voice quickly echoed once his seatbelt was on, asking, "Where do you like to go, Sir?"
"Hushing Avenue, Starlight Cafe." Xu Feng flatly replied and browsed the latest news on his phone.
While Vera started up the car and began driving, he was checking on news-related media revolving around the Divine World, as well as the financial situation news.
’Lethal Finance’s stock value decreased by a bit huh.’ Xu Feng mused at the decreasing line. It had already dropped by 1.2% and he predicted that it would continue to drop, stopping at around negative 3.8%.
However, the 3.8% drop was still too low in Xu Feng’s perspective.
The Lethal Finance made a move on him, so it would be a real pity if he simply let them go that easily. He couldn’t kill them back to level 0 because they took advantage of the safety mechanism designed by the System, then he might as well strike in the real world.
Without hesitation, Xu Feng sent a text to OneManMedia to quickly edit the clip of the siege conducted by Brian. The raid had too much content so it would take a while to fully edit, but the siege was quite brief despite the large numbers.
Therefore, the faster the siege videos were posted, the quicker the drop in their stocks would be. By then, it would be his time to start buying some of the stocks, increasing his shares.
Having calculated his plan in his mind, he quickly put the plan into action, not allowing the Lethal Finance any time to breathe properly.
Strike when the iron was hot!
That was a great statement describing the current crisis of Lethal Finance, with many other companies who had insider news or spies, purposely dragging the stock value down. Xu Feng was merely riding the wave and earning himself a great profit in the process while remaining in the dark.
’Phew, I sure am generous to buy their stock in their time of crisis. Lethal Finance should thank me for pouring so much money into them.’ Xu Feng smirked, clearly envisioning himself becoming a part of them in the near future.
Meanwhile, Vera soon parked the car in a spacious spot and responded, "Sir, we have arrived at the location."
"Eh, that quick?" Surprised, Xu Feng shifted his eyes to the windows and spotted the large sign board stating Starlight Cafe.
Not to mention, there were many open seats and supposedly "high-class" people drinking their coffee and chatting in a professional-like manner.
Premium Cafe in a nutshell.
Unamused by the marketing tactic done by the Starlight Cafe to attract filthy rich people who don’t know where to spend their money, Xu Feng quickly got out of his car, trying to spot Allison.
’Now where is this Professor of mine?’ He wondered, his eyes gazing around.
What do you think?
