Chapter 558 Clean Some Filth
With that earsplitting shouting from Thunder Sword, almost everyone's attention in the lobby was attracted to their side.
Shortly after, some of them recognized the voice as they got a clearer look.
"Isn't that Thunder Sword? I recalled him stealing missions from other newbies a few days ago."
"Shush, his cousin is Lightning Blade. If we offend him, then we're going to be ruined."
"Right… The Vanguard Guild's influence is too strong. Who could contest against them? I remembered their Guild Leader was once bullied by the Reaver Guild, but look at him doing the exact same thing as the Reaver Guild."
"I spit at the Vanguard Guild. They could target me however they want. I don't care because I'm casual and I doubt they could do much if I just don't log in."
As the crowd began gossiping among themselves after realizing who was making a commotion in the lobby, almost everyone held a fearful or disdainful expression.
But one thing was for sure, they all realized that it was another one of the Vanguard Guild people bullying.
"It appears the guild's reputation isn't as bright and shiny as it seems on the surface." Allison made a remark toward Xu Feng.
"Indeed, this is quite embarrassing." Nodding in agreement, Xu Feng still ended up making a common mistake.
He was focused on a few individuals to ensure the strength of the Vanguard Guild remained at the top, as well as the businesses to keep their finances afloat.
With all his time spent on them, followed by the large influence the Vanguard Guild now held, he neglected the fact that some people who had some connection with the members of the guild would cause trouble for others.
It was really a common mistake for all leaders to be incapable of managing all their subordinates and their connection with others to not cause trouble using their name or affiliation. After all, it was just an endless string of fates, and it was hard to navigate them in general.
Therefore, when he learned the cousin's name from Thunder Sword, he had already begun questioning Lightning Blade to verify the truth.
If Thunder Sword was indeed a cousin of his, which he highly suspected to be true, then he would need to start cleaning the filth. Once filth festered and prolonged itself, then it would be harder to clean it out.
"Hey, are you even listening to me?" Suddenly, Thunder Sword shouted in disbelief when he was ignored entirely.
"If you don't apologize to me, then I'll make sure you won't have a fun day ahead of your life in the Divine World." He added, seemingly trying to frighten Xu Feng with his threats.
Unfortunately, Xu Feng didn't even bat an eyelid at him. As for Allison, she already lost interest in Thunder Sword and resumed reading some of the guides that Xu Feng sent to her.
These guides were very informative and useful, so she naturally wouldn't want to waste time interacting with a brainless person over the guides.
Baffled and infuriated, Thunder Sword nearly wanted to attack Xu Feng but was promptly advised by his other companion.@@novelbin@@
"It's not worth striking here, Thunder Sword. If you strike him here, then you'd be detained on the spot." One of his companions warned.
"Hmph, consider yourself lucky!" Thunder Sword snorted coldly.
Meanwhile, the other onlookers, especially those who were present from the start and had recognized Xu Feng from earlier, were amused by the situation.
Very quickly, they started snapping pictures of them and began posting in the Game Forum.
With how overbearing the Vanguard Guild had become, some of them couldn't wait to watch them suffer some setbacks.
And at that particular moment, Xu Feng who was calmly waiting for a response from Lightning Blade and Clara to finish preparing in the Game Forum, noticed a new forum post.
Since he specified it in a Riverwood Town forum post, he was instantly notified of new posts. Players didn't post much unless it was somewhat relevant, given the spammers were harshly criticized and mass-reported.
After being mass reported, the System would also investigate the matter and give a verdict. To those who were deemed a spammer and guilty, they were barred from gaining any experience points, and repeat offenders could even be detained by guards.
Therefore, the Game Forum was something every player browsed through daily because there were no spammers or advertisers. Advertisers as in those endorsed fake stuff and merely wanted to scam people.
'Seems like there's been quite some filth piling up.' Xu Feng thought to himself, not expecting the Vanguard Guild's reputation within Riverwood Town to be decreasing so much.
Ever since he teleported to a city, he hadn't focused much on the beginner towns, given it didn't have much value until later on. Yet he never anticipated that his decision would backfire on him one day.
If the Vanguard Guild was already being compared as an equivalent to the Reaver Guild to the new players, then it was hard to fathom if he could even recruit new blood in the future.

"What impression do you have of the Vanguard Guild, Eversoul?" Xu Feng decided to ask Allison, who was considered a newbie, so her first impression was quite noteworthy.
Allison rubbed her chin softly before answering, "An overbearing upstart guild?"
This was indeed her honest opinion, considering their conduct and demeanor were no different than the arrogant top guilds despite being an upstart one. Just some success and they thought they could ride over people's heads without any regard for the possible consequences.
"I see…" Smiling bitterly, Xu Feng realized what he must do. Since his tone was solemn, Allison similarly responded with her honest thoughts rather than her "fake" words.
If even Allison said his guild was overbearing, then he needed to do some serious work in restructuring.
"Didn't we agree that you would help me out in management? How about I assign you your very first task?" Xu Feng suddenly clasped his hands and asked sweetly.
What do you think?
