Chapter 572 Intruders
With Allison's hand grasping tightly on his arm despite her trembling, Xu Feng found it hard to free himself.
"If we wait here, and the turrets get disabled or destroyed. Then we're going to be sitting ducks." Xu Feng patted her hands and said softly.
"Bullet-proof interior doesn't make it impenetrable." He added, hoping that she would understand that he wasn't trying to play a hero or something. But rather, he needed to do something to ensure their survival.
For the Divine World's system to be alerted, it meant that the enemies were strong enough to ignore the turret defenses.
Luckily, he had made some modifications on the gaming capsule to be connected to the home security. Otherwise, they wouldn't even have been alerted in the first place.
"I-I'll go with you then." Allison finally gave in and said after some thinking.
Although she thought for a while, it was only for around 20-30 seconds, given that the time wasn't ideal for them.
From her position, she could hear the turrets firing numerous shots, but she didn't hear any screaming or the actual sound of the bullets hitting.
And staying here alone didn't make her feel safe either.
Hence, she might as well follow Xu Feng and be able to hold him back if the risk was too high.
"Very well, since the security alarm has been triggered, the police would probably arrive in 10-15 minutes. We just need to hold on until then." Nodding, Xu Feng didn't stop her from following him.
A few minutes later, they arrived at the backyard, and sure enough, there were at least three intruders combating the turrets.
Each of the intruders were covered in black from top to bottom, and geared up completely. The bullets from the turret weren't weak, but the shield that the intruders used was capable of blocking them.
"Who are these intruders?" Allison clenched her fist and wondered just who would deploy such skilled intruders to come after her.
She wasn't afraid of looking through the glass, given it was a one-way mirror.
The mirror in her view was transparent, allowing her to see what was outside, but those from the outside could only see a reflection, unable to view what was inside.
"I don't know who they are either, but one thing for sure. They are not here to play around." Xu Feng glanced at the tablet in his hand, zooming in and out of the surveillance video.
"Who installed these cameras for you?" He then asked, furrowing his brows as there were too many blind spots.

Silent, Allison seemed hesitant to respond to that question. But once she felt the intense gaze, she smiled bitterly and said, "I installed them…"
"And why wouldn't you hire an expert to do so?" Xu Feng raised an eyebrow, seemingly dumbfounded by her action.
"Well, my visit to Avalon City was supposed to be a secret and I didn't want too many people— strangers to know where I live." She fidgeted her fingers and said in a low but subtle tone.
"Secret? Nice secret when you are teaching at the Kingston School with many students around. Also, I can be considered a stranger but you still brought me to your mansion on the first day we met." Xu Feng nearly had a stroke hearing her logic.
Was Allison always this gullible and naive in her younger days?
"Are you really blaming me at this moment?" Frowning, Allison wasn't pleased that she was being blamed for the crisis.
"No, I'm just annoyed that you take so lightly of your home security. Don't you know how many rich people value their security?"
After saying that, Xu Feng no longer relied on the security camera and began inspecting the battle through the one-way mirror.
Meanwhile, Allison realized she might have overreacted in response. She had not once felt that threatened in life, so losing her composure and panicking was very unbefitting of her characteristics.
However, what surprised her the most was how calm and collected Xu Feng behaved in such an unexpected crisis.
'He's still pondering over the solution while I lost my composure. Am I the professor here or he is?' Allison pursed her lips, feeling ashamed a second time.@@novelbin@@
There had rarely been any occasion where she would feel ashamed, but Xu Feng managed to make her feel that way twice in a single day. It was hard to believe Xu Feng was just someone in his 20s and a recent "dropout" college student.
"He's even more shrewd than those old men I interacted with." She murmured, placing Xu Feng in a high position.
While Allison was wondering what caused such a change for him, she nearly received a shock when she saw Xu Feng trying to open the glass door.
"Wait, what are you doing?" She hurriedly shouted in alarm and tried to rush forward to stop him. Unfortunately, the distance between them was far too great.
By the time she reached the glass door, Xu Feng was already outside and had shut the glass door behind.
Stupefied, she wanted to open it and drag him back inside, only to see Xu Feng signaling her to stop with his hand raised up.
Although Allison could only see his back, she felt a sense of dread and emanating pressure coming from him. She was so stunned that her hand remained on the doorknob without being capable of moving it.
The only thing moving was her eyes which spotted Xu Feng slowly walking toward the intruders.
'Why is he trying to play a hero?' Allison cried inwardly, wanting to move but felt an invisible force stopping her in place.
Contrary to Allison's belief though, Xu Feng didn't go outside because he wanted to play hero or something.
Instead, it was because he spotted a particular person.
'An actual Martial Artist with high Concentration Strength. This is really something else.' Xu Feng narrowed his eyes, his expression extremely solemn. Since his return from the past timeline, the person he was currently looking at could be said to be his most powerful foe yet.
What do you think?
