Xu Feng would spot the plants for Buffalion, who would effectively kill them to fill its hungry belly. In return, the Buffalion would give Xu Feng a small commission price.

Not to mention, when Xu Feng stored the monsters in his inventory, it was surprisingly converted and were listed as Unique Monsters. In other words, these monsters were going to stay in his inventory even after the Origin Trial was over.

'Oh dear, my luck is finally turning for the better.' Laughing silently, Xu Feng knew the system never expected a nerf trial player would ever be capable of farming a ton of monsters in Planet Zaun. Thus, it didn't implement such a restriction, and that was its biggest mistake ever.

'Sorry, Buffalion, but you should work hard for your food, right?' Xu Feng inwardly sneered, having decided to take numerous detours along the way.

Having constructed such a thought, they continued to encounter numerous monsters along the path, with the Buffalion swiftly killing them.

The Buffalion didn't even have the slightest suspicion of Xu Feng doing foul play, given that they discovered a plant every 10 minutes or so. Not to mention, these plants had a special attribute that could conceal themselves from their natural predator: Buffalion.

Therefore, the Buffalion believed that 10 minutes of interval between finding these difficult prey was an astounding feat.

It would have never thought that despite its overwhelming strength and presence, it would be swindled and used by a pitiful weak human.

Time quickly went by, and together, the duo eliminated at least 6 carnivorous plants within the rainforest. The Buffalion also seemed exhilarated and pleased that it finally obtained so much food in one day.

It finished its last meal and started to lower its hoof, seemingly ready to take a leisure nap.

As for Xu Feng, he was also satisfied with the number of samples gained and gently bowed before the Buffalion.

"Take your rest, Buffalion. I'll be taking my leave now." He said softly.

The Buffalion merely closed its eyes and snorted, clearly its sign of saying that he was free to go. Having eaten his fill due to the human in front, it was pleased and didn't plan on harming him.

Just like that, Xu Feng was able to escape freely while accomplishing the reconnaissance task in the meantime. Two birds with one stone.

However, only Xu Feng knew there was a greater danger once he returned to the Battleship.

As much as he wanted his conjecture to be wrong, the chances were pretty low to be incorrect. He might be unfamiliar with the Origin Trial, but most of the high-risk trials usually involve the biggest villain boss near the end.

'I'll need to sneak my way back to the laboratory and meet up with Roy.' He clenched his fist, having pinpointed Roy as a key figure.

Shortly after deciding so, Xu Feng managed to return to the established base.

However, never did he anticipate that the moment he stepped foot in the established base, a system prompt appeared in front of him.

'What?' Startled, Xu Feng nearly cried out in alarm at the sudden system prompt.

System: Your progress will be saved and shall be resumed during your second-tier promotion! As a reward for completing the hidden task, you are granted a Town Certificate!

Before Xu Feng could comprehend everything, he found his soul forcefully being ejected from Michael. His consciousness started fading away, and the scenery of the established base at Planet Zaun was drifting further and further.

Soon, his eyes were forced to shut, and by the time he came to his senses, he found himself in the same dark dimension environment.

"First phase of the Origin Trial completed?" Xu Feng smiled bitterly as he glanced around the familiar surroundings. No wonder why he felt the time to be extremely tight.

The so-called one-month time was merely the first phase given to the player to accomplish. It was never meant as the entirety of the Origin Trial and he would have to return to that simulation once he advanced to Tier 2.

Although the system prompt was in front of him, Xu Feng still found the completion a bit… lackluster. He was so close to the truth, so to be forcefully expelled and given a completed status felt like a slap to the face.

It was the same feeling if someone were playing a major game. The game reached the final phase and just when all their preparation was done and they were about to unleash their finale showtime.
