Chapter 813: Poaching Openly
If Xu Feng was suddenly approached by people and they shoved that kind of requirement list to him. It would already be lenient of him to not give them a harsh beating to the face.
If even his temper that could be controlled would explode in such rage, it goes without saying how the others would react.
"This can't be the prank you two wanted to pull, right?" He asked suspiciously. This had to be a prank in his mind. After all, there was a high percentage chance of him being chased and getting beaten up.
Veronica would be safe and sound because she was a woman. Although gender equality was a thing, the truth remained that men are prone to not hitting women despite such situations.
However, he was different. He was a man, and without a doubt, their desire to give him quadruple the beating in replacement of Veronica was guaranteed.
"Huh, is the requirement still too lenient?" Contrary to Xu Feng's mindset, Veronica had completely misunderstood his meaning. She believed that the requirement list wasn't good enough and was thus perceived as a prank in his eyes.
"Hmm, but this is already the best we thought of. What else could be missing? A permanent deletion of the character?" She rubbed her chin and began muttering up more vile and wicked thoughts.
Xu Feng nearly got goosebumps after realizing she had many more scummy lists up in her mind.
'I can't say I'm impressed or disappointed.' He was caught in a predicament. On one hand, he was thoroughly impressed by her ruthlessness, but on the other hand, he couldn't afford to corrupt her any further.
He didn't wish to be called a sinner who corrupted two genuine women into becoming scumbags like him.
"Ahem, the list is decent enough already. There's no need to alter it." In the end, he cleared his throat and halted her before things got too out of hand.
"I-Is that so?" Unsure about his statement, Veronica wondered if he simply said to stop her from overthinking. She was skeptical about him not trying to hurt her feelings.
If Xu Feng had been aware of her thought process, then his face would have definitely turned pale. He never thought there would be a day that his corruption was so deep—in which two lovely women became devils in disguise.
"Anyway, let's do this. I'll point out the good candidates and you'll approach them." Xu Feng suggested it mainly because he had no intention of being a punching sandbag.
"Eh, are you afraid of being beaten to a pulp?" To be honest, she was initially unaware and unsure of his behavior. However, after his suggestion was made, she became enlightened. It wasn't that the requirement list was too lenient, but it was way too dark for him.
"The Guild Leader would definitely agree to the list but I guessed the Honorary Elder is somewhat different. It was my oversight to not think about it and mistake your personality." She explained, clearly having thought Xu Feng was vile as well thanks to his previous conduct and the most recent bloody massacre that was being reposted everywhere.
The previous conduct was him openly thrashing a fellow guild member.
His decisiveness and lack of care for how others viewed him caused the public to think he was the mindless brutal type.
This thought was especially reinforced when they saw how badly Xu Feng had treated women in the Divine World as well.
He was the definition of gender equality. Regardless of whether his target was a woman or a man, both received the same treatment.
There was no exception!
"Hmm, so you propose that we change the requirement list?" She then raised the question.
"If the list remains as it is, then I'll doubt the candidate we recruit would be any good." Xu Feng responded honestly.
Only the most useless one would probably agree to sign such a blackhearted contract. Or there could be some hidden gems such as the desperate ones.
However, what kind of fighters would be that desperate enough?
There shouldn't be someone like that among the crowd…right?
Sometime later, the requirement list was fixed and appeared more normal.
1. Must sign a contract with the Vanguard Guild in the Divine World
2. All discounts earned would remain even if they left the guild unless they joined a blacklisted guild/team or the discount process was over for all
3. No disclosure of the guild's secret to anyone else, including the real world. If found and caught, players shall hereby be banned from playing the Divine World with their current account and must create a new one to start afresh.
"Only 3 conditions, but isn't the last one more blackhearted?" Veronica browsed through it and gave her honest opinion.
"That's where you're wrong." Xu Feng shook his head and corrected. "Guild's secret is extremely important and once revealed, it could mean life and death for the guild. Therefore, this was necessary and meant as a deter."
Realization quickly dawned upon Veronica.
"Ah, so the condition is meant to scare them to not think of betrayal." She clasped her hands in understanding.
After all, it would be extremely difficult to track who spilled the secret if they had done it offline. The System in the Divine World couldn't possibly detect what the players do when they're not logged in.
Xu Feng nodded in response. He was satisfied that she understood him right away.
"Alright, now make sure to start recruiting for those who finished signing up. I'll communicate with you through the phone and specify whom to approach." He continued.
Although Veronica remained unaware as to why he still wouldn't recruit alongside her, she didn't brood over it and nodded her head.
As she made her way close to the entrance, she confidently put up a small sign of recruiting people.
When Xu Feng noticed what she was doing, he nearly wanted to facepalm.
They were there to poach people, so what kind of poaching would announce it in broad daylight?
'This has to be a prank, right?' Xu Feng exclaimed inwardly.
Little did he know that it wasn't a prank, but just a lack of knowledge and understanding of the impact that the Divine World had on the real world.
Veronica believed the fighters signing up for city competition didn't conflict with joining a guild in the Divine World.
What do you think?
