Madam Gu and Zhou Zhiyan, along with Madam Zhou, three of them, drank tea and chatted.

Zhou Zhiyan lowered her long lashes and smiled shyly.

Madam Gu’s hand holding the teacup paused slightly.

“Siting, listen to your mother. Spend more time with Zhiyan to foster your relationship. You’ll find that only she is a true match for you!”

In Gu Siting’s deep, narrow eyes there wasn’t a hint of warmth, the chill in them biting, “Madam Gu seems so fond of pushing mistresses onto people. Why don’t you introduce Zhou Zhiyan to your own husband then?”

Without waiting for Madam Gu to say anything, Gu Siting strode towards the Bamboo Pavilion Courtyard.

After hearing his words, Madam Gu nearly fainted from anger.

Zhou Zhiyan felt humiliated by Gu Siting’s words, her eyes brimming with tears.

Madam Zhou, on the other hand, started crying outright, “Aunt Yuzhi, don’t try to match Fourth Master and Zhiyan anymore. I see it now; Fourth Master looks down on our Zhiyan, he will not heed your advice!”

Madam Gu’s face turned from green to purple.

In front of others, Gu Siting didn’t give her any face at all.

Ming Yao sat on the bay window, toying with a slender silver needle in her hand.

Song Chuan knelt on the ground, the corners of his mouth twitching continuously.

Ming Yao had pricked him in some acupoint, and now he couldn’t stand up at all, the twitching at the corner of his mouth not stopping.

From the initial cursing, he had become tremulous and panic-stricken.

This wasn’t some witch; she was simply a devil!

Earlier, when henchmen had tied her to a chair, he thought she couldn’t break free, just waiting for him to take his pleasure.

Just as he was about to kiss her, she suddenly broke free from the ropes, pricked him with a needle, and stuffed a blackish medicine pill into his mouth.

Ming Yao sat on the bay window, her slender white legs swinging back and forth, the sight of her snow-white skin and delicate ankles was heart-stirring.

But Song Chuan dared not harbor any other thoughts.

The corners of his mouth twitched so severely it was almost crooked, and his stomach hurt as if he were about to die.

Ming Yao’s delicate white hand, not holding the Silver Needle, gently propped up her cheek, her expression pure and innocent, “Ah, it’s not time yet. What’s the rush?”

What exactly was she waiting for?

Her voice was crisp and pleasant, with a hint of tenderness. To the unknowing, she seemed like a little fairy, but in Song Chuan’s eyes, she now appeared as a terrifying witch!

Ming Yao tousled her long black hair and in the instant that the door was kicked open, she threw herself into the broad and sturdy embrace of the man.

“Husband, you finally came. I was so scared, wu wu wu…”

Gu Siting, suddenly wrapped in a tight hug, seemed to pause for a moment.

He looked down at the woman in his arms.

Her beautiful, flirtatious phoenix eyes were sparkling with clear dew. Her long lashes trembled incessantly, as if assaulted by a storm, and though she looked bewitchingly beautiful, her feigned fragility didn’t seem out of place at all.

Gu Siting couldn’t tell if she was truly scared or pretending, nor could he discern if the tears in her eyes were real or fake.

This woman had countless faces; he was utterly unable to figure out which one was the real her.

But seeing her clinging tightly to his waist, sweetly calling him husband, his heart softened.

He didn’t push her away, but instead lifted a finger and wiped away a crocodile tear at the corner of her eye.

His fingertips were slightly cool and calloused faintly, and in the moment they touched the corner of her eye, Ming Yao was taken aback.

She didn’t miss the fleeting tenderness in the man’s dark eyes.

Ming Yao clicked her tongue.

This damned man truly preferred soft and fragile women at heart.

Gu Siting glanced at the red V-neck dress Ming Yao was wearing and his eyebrows furrowed. He removed his coat and wrapped it around her.

Just as Song Chuan was about to say something, Madam Gu and her entourage arrived.
