Chapter 73: Chapter 73: He Kicked Open Her Room Door
The man seemed to possess eyes in the back of his head, and before Zhou Zhiyan’s hands could even wrap around him, he dodged aside, pushing her away without any tenderness or pity.
Zhou Zhiyan was pushed into a corner and stumbled against a potted green plant.
Just then, with a snap, a mobile phone fell from behind the dense foliage of the plant to the ground.
There was a deathly silence in the air for a few seconds.
Gu Siting’s face darkened as he walked over and picked up the phone.
The phone was conveniently in recording mode.
The entire scene of Zhou Zhiyan nearly embracing him as he entered the room had been captured.
Gu Siting’s piercing black eyes swept towards Zhou Zhiyan.
Zhou Zhiyan paled when their eyes met.
“Brother Siting, the phone isn’t mine…” Seemingly realizing something, Zhou Zhiyan widened her eyes, “It must be that little maid called Gu Fuzhen.”
Gu Siting looked down at the phone.
It wasn’t a well-known brand, indeed not something you would expect Zhou Zhiyan, a lady from a distinguished family, to use.
Gu Siting’s thin lips parted slightly, and he spat out a cold command, “Get out!”
Zhou Zhiyan didn’t dare to stay any longer, and she ran out with a mix of shame and discomfort.
Gu Siting clenched the phone tightly and walked down the stairs with a menacing look.
In the servant room.
Ming Yao was already asleep, hugging Gu Siting’s coat, and Little Snowball, after leaving the master bedroom, settled down behind Ming Yao.
One person, one cat, breathing evenly.@@novelbin@@
Gu Siting arrived and kicked the door open with a single foot.
Ming Yao awoke to the noise, startled from her slumber.
She was extremely drowsy, and her eyes were not yet fully open.
She rubbed her small face against the man’s coat, only fully waking up when she felt an icy chill in the air.
Seeing the man with a face like frosted steel and a storm brewing in his demeanor, Ming Yao was utterly baffled.
What was that jerk doing standing in her room with such a sullen face in the middle of the night instead of romantically entangling himself with the woman who threw herself at him?
Little Snowball seemed to sense the danger too, stealthily hiding behind Ming Yao.
Ming Yao noticed Tyrant Gu’s grim stare bearing down on her, and realizing something, she quickly let go of the coat she was holding.
She bowed her head, her expression one of fear and apprehension, “Fo-Fourth Master, a button fell off your coat. I intended to mend it for you, but I was just so sleepy…”
Ming Yao presented the covertly removed button to him, “I’ll mend it for you right now.”
The unforgiving coldness on Gu Siting’s face showed no signs of abating as he handed the phone to the little maid, “What did you want to record?”
Seeing the phone Gu Siting handed her, Ming Yao’s scalp tingled.
Damn it, how had he found the phone?
The hiding place was truly well concealed; surely he shouldn’t have been that alert?
What went wrong?
Without time to ponder deeply, and facing the man who looked like a storm was about to erupt, she said with a trembling voice, “Fourth Master, actually, it was Miss Zhou who asked me to record it for her.”
Before Gu Siting could say anything, Ming Yao added softly, “Today Madam Gu brought Miss Zhou over, saying she would be the future mistress of Imperial Garden, and that we should all listen to her from now on. You know I have a seriously ill boyfriend and desperately need this job. I dare not disobey the orders of your mother and the mistress of Imperial Garden.”
“Fourth Master, I am just a humble little maid; please don’t blame me…”
Gu Siting narrowed his inscrutable, pitch-black eyes and suddenly realized that this little maid, seemingly timid and frail, was actually quite eloquent.
It seemed that every time she did something wrong, she could easily deceive him.
What do you think?
