Chapter 358: Trouble in Paradise
"These… people."
Clio stood by a window, her eyes reflecting the bustling street below. From above, everything seemed normal and all the people seemed normal. But she knew that the people casually walking around the busy street were anything but normal—they were heroes, champions.
Her hands rested lightly on the frame of the window as she observed them, her fingers occasionally tightening as her thoughts swirled.
This place… she thought. This place carried an air of danger.
Achilles had explained it to them—they weren't actually inside a Safe Zone—fights could break out anywhere at any time. The only thing stopping the people from actually killing each other was the silent rule of not creating trouble since this place could be considered a beginner's area.
"These people…" she muttered to herself again. "They're all just… just pawns in the gods' game. We… we're all just pawns."
Her chest tightened as she thought about what Achilles had told them earlier: champions could die countless times, but each death chipped away at their sanity, their soul. And once their points were gone? They would become nothing more than husks, abandoned at the side of the street.
Her grip on the window frame tightened, a faint creak accompanying her frustration.
"How… how could they do this?" she whispered, her voice trembling slightly. "How could the gods be so cruel? To make people fight for their amusement… to take… hmn… everything from them until there's nothing left?"
And when… does it end?
"When…" Clio's voice broke the silence, stammering slightly as her grip tightened again, almost to the point of crushing the wooden frame, "...uhn… when is Arachnea coming b… back?"
She wanted to continue with her thoughts of nobility, but her calmness was finally shattered. How could it not be, when she was feeling the warmth of Rhys's tongue brushing across her clit?
Her legs were already on their last will—she wasn't actually standing in front of the window, but was bent over, the juices seeping out from inside her, enough to create a streak across her thighs and legs as they trailed down straight to the floor.
The wooden floor, which was now completely damp beneath her feet; the only thought she had in her mind now was wishing that her juices weren't actually seeping onto the floor below.
And soon, any remaining thoughts in her mind became a haze as her toes violently curled.
She covered her mouth, wanting to stop her mouth from screaming as she climaxed. Her entire body tingled and her pores opened up, causing even the minute touch of Rhys's fingers to make her tremble to the point that her legs finally gave in.
But alas, she wasn't allowed to rest at all as Rhys caught her, and the only thing she could really do was smile and grit her teeth as she felt Rhys entering deeply inside her.
"Guh… hun…" Her mouth then opened as she could no longer stop her moans from seeping out as Rhys started moving inside her; her breasts, jiggling softly along with her hips as he moved in and out of her.
She could feel it.
Rhys's warmth getting hotter… and bigger inside her. She wanted the feeling to last, but alas…
"I'm…" Clio stuck out her tongue as she wanted to grab onto her thighs, but Rhys grabbed her by the wrists as he continued his rhythm, "...I'm… I'm cumming again!"
Her screams caught the attention of the champions below, but fortunately for her, her entire body dropped to the floor from the pleasure surrounding her body.
Her breaths turned into gasps as she felt Rhys's warmth leave her… but she wanted more. Even now as her body was trembling violently, even now as the slightest touch caused her to curl… she still wanted Rhys inside her.
And of course, Rhys was happy to oblige.
Rhys gently wrapped her in his arms and carried her to the bed, her breaths heavy as he carefully laid her down.
But that was the extent of his gentleness as Clio smiled at Rhys while spreading her legs open; her fingers, brushing down her belly and to her lower lips… and parting them.
"Let's…" Clio whispered, "...Let's do it again."
***
The room was now dimly lit as Clio adjusted her gown, smoothing the fabric as she glanced at Rhys. She, however, quickly looked away before their eyes could meet, in fear that… something might happen between them again.
They have already spent hours intertwined like animals, they truly need to stop now.
Fortunately for Clio, Rhys was also already dressed, having just finished cleaning himself with a tub of water.
"Should we eat then, Princess?" Rhys then asked as he fixed his slightly damp hair, causing Clio to slightly bite her lips upon seeing the water trail down his perfect face.
But Clio stopped herself, nodding as she made her way to the door first to completely avoid any more… delays.
And once again, fortunately for Clio, the atmosphere in the diner of the inn they were in was quite lively—somewhat making it easy for her to get her mind off of the things they had just done moments ago.
The scent of the food being cooked was enough for her to close her eyes to appreciate, and the conversations of the champions made her body finally calm down.
The two found a table near the corner, away from the largest groups, and sat down. An inn maid quickly approached them almost immediately, her movements swift but graceful as she handed them a pair of menus.
Clio's eyes flicked to the maid. She was strikingly beautiful, her long dark hair tied neatly behind her.
"Do you think she's a champion too?" Clio whispered to Rhys, glancing at the maid as she walked away.
"Probably not," Rhys glanced at the maid, "Her hands were too smooth and there are no signs of blisters at all."
"Then… do you think she might be a god?" Clio gulped at the thought, "Or maybe she was just created just for this place?"
"We won't really know, Princess."
Clio sighed, resting her chin on her hand as she scanned the menu. The dishes listed were far more lavish than anything she'd expected—roasted pheasant, spiced lamb, honey-glazed figs, and even exotic fruits she'd never seen before.
"These things sound… even better than anything I've had in Calydon," she admitted, a touch of surprise in her voice,
"What… should we even order?"
"Just pick what sounds good for you." Rhys breathed out as he glanced at Clio, gently brushing his fingers on her hair and tucking it behind her ear. Clio did not react at all, however, as she was completely busy trying to pick out something to eat.
And after a few more minutes, she called for the inn maid and ordered.
The inn maid returned moments later, balancing two trays laden with food. She placed them carefully in front of Rhys and Clio, bowing her head slightly before disappearing into the crowd.
Clio's mouth watered as she took in the spread before her. She reached for a spoon so that she could taste the soup in front of her, but before she could even lift it up, silence began to surround the inn.
"...Great," Rhys whispered and sighed, and Clio quickly caught the annoyance in his tone.
She immediately turned her head, but she did not need to at all as several men started to surround their table—it was the group that they confronted earlier, except there were more of them now.
Their leader, the one Clio had pinned to the ground, stood at the front with a confident smirk on his face. He approached, shaking his head while clicking his tongue.
"Well, well…" he sneered, his voice dripping with malice. "...Did you really think that you could just stay in this place after what you've done to us?"
"You approached us first and started spouting nonsense." Clio's tightened her grip on her spoon, bending it completely.
"Oh… Ohohoho…" The man cackled, "Lady, you don't know what's about to happen to you. I will kill you again and again until there's nothing left of you—and then we will take turns fucking you while letting your boyfriend watch."
"You—"
"Leave." Clio was about to stand, but Rhys grabbed her hand and glared at the man.
The man's laugh died in his throat, and he leaned closer to Rhys. "Oh, I don't think so. You humiliated me. Both of you. And now you're going to pay for it."
"I am asking you to leave for your sake." Rhys sighed, "Trust me, you don't want this."
The champions nearby began to turn their heads, some watching with curiosity, others with mild disinterest.
"What's with your courage? Don't you see how many of us are here…?" The man raised an eyebrow, "Look, you're just new here. So, I don't expect you to—"
"Last chance." Rhys finally stood up, his eyes locking onto the man's, "Leave…
…Please, leave while you're still alive."
What do you think?
