Chapter 200: Moment of Peace (1)
Third Person's POV
Each was potent and brimmed with potential and carried the power to change his fate.
This unexpected help in my strength makes way for a lot of plans that need changes... I need to experiment to familiarize myself with them.
A dark smile slowly spread on his face in the dim light as he had already decided on his first test subjects.
For now, his path forward was clearer than ever.

All he needed was time and assistance in fully grasping and developing his newfound strength.
With these thoughts, exhaustion finally claimed him, and he drifted into a deep slumber as the dim light inside the carriage cast a malevolent shadow behind his resting form.
---
The afternoon sun was stark against the perpetual gloom of the Dark Forest as it cast fragmented rays through the dense foliage.
Ethan's group had taken refuge in a small clearing beside a serene lake adorned with black lotus flowers.
The lake's surface shimmered faintly and reflected the eerie beauty of the dark flora around it.
The moment was peaceful and was a rare instance of tranquility in their long journey.
Ethan lay sprawled on a flower bed with his arms tucked behind his head as he chewed on a thin blade of grass lazily.
A cool breeze carried the crisp scent of the black lotuses, and for the first time in a while, he allowed himself to relax.
The ancients were right. When you are deprived of something only then do you truly understand its value.
He reminisced about the warmth of the sun.
It was a sensation so foreign in the Blood Veil Continent that he had almost forgotten what it felt like in the last eight years.
The faint golden rays filtering through the dense canopy reminded him of the bright, vibrant days of his childhood in the foothills of the Aurora Frost Mountains near the Dark North City of the Dark Star Continent.
They had been traveling endlessly and had been unsure of when they would finally emerge from the depths of the Dark Forest and enter the Central Dominance Lands where the demons dominated.
Nearly ten days had passed since they left the Scarlet Hollow Castle, and the road had offered them little rest.
But today, the old Blood Slave who seldom spoke unless absolutely necessary had croaked out in an announcement.
It was that they would finally exit the Dark Forest in one more day.
With that news, Ethan decided they deserved some leisure before stepping into the unknown once again.
Seeing the beautiful black lake and feeling the gentle rustling of the dark trees, he chose to settle in the grassy meadow.
Nearby, Virelle sat cross-legged as her golden hair caught the sunlight and shimmered like spun gold.
She tilted her head back and half-closed her crimson eyes as she basked in the warmth.
To celebrate, Ethan suggested indulging in refreshments while they were at it.
As expected, Velcy, the ever-energetic cat girl was the first to volunteer.
She puffed out her small chest with confidence and promised to return with a fresh hunt.
Ethan chuckled as he secretly observed her growing chest that bounced as she jumped and ran away in the forest.
It had already grown to around C-cup but Velcy being the innocent one around him didn't know that her big brother had already set his sights on her.
He was already suppressing his anticipation as he waited for her to grow faster.
He was not worried about her safety as he was always monitoring her with his soul sense. She ducked down and getting on all fours she hurried into the forest.
Velcy moved and hopped like a cat as she soon vanished into the forest while Ethan watched all this with amazement.
Ethan noticed the subtle changes in her mannerisms, especially her movements which had become more fluid and more animalistic. To be more specific, it was becoming cat like.
It was a clear sign that her White Cat bloodline or whatever it was called in reality was awakening.
He couldn't help but notice how much she had changed over the past two years.
The quiet, scarred girl who had once kept her head bowed and her emotions locked away was now vibrant and confident.
As she disappeared into the forest, Ethan turned his gaze to Virelle, who stood by the lakeside and bathed in the fractured sunlight.
The golden rays danced upon her pale skin and formed a stark contrast against her vampire heritage.
Her golden hair shimmered and made her look almost celestial.
A small smile tugged at Ethan's lips as he admired her.
Then, on impulse, he reached for her hand. She turned to him in surprise as her crimson eyes reflected her curiosity.
"Let's dance," he said.
Virelle blinked and was momentarily caught off guard.
"Here? Now?"
"Why not?" Ethan grinned and stood up.
"The weather's perfect, the scenery's beautiful, and we have earned a moment of peace."
Before she could protest, he pulled her gently toward the meadow and guided her with practiced ease.
The ominous trees stood as silent spectators as they moved in slow and deliberate steps.
She hesitated at first but as he twirled her with effortless grace, she found herself being swept into the rhythm.
A small and shy smile formed on her lips as she had never faced or done something like this in her whole life.
He pulled her to her feet, and they began to move in their slow and unhurried steps.
There was no music around them but only the rustle of leaves and the distant chirping of birds sounded.
Ethan led her with a gentle hand on her waist and their fingers intertwined as they twirled in the grass meadow.
She instinctively placed a hand on the back of his neck and her fingers threaded into his hair.
Virelle's smile grew as Ethan surprised her with his occasional sharp maneuvers while he maintained his fluid and confident movements.
What do you think?
