Turning his gaze slightly, he noticed the commotion had died down in the market district.

The dust had finally settled and only faint shouts echoed in the distance.

What truly caught his eye, however, was a massive wyvern rising from the distant castle and taking flight toward the location of the now-destroyed Imperial Blade Hall.

"Took them long enough…" he muttered under his breath, clicking his tongue softly.

Instantly his mind clicked together at the possibility that that idiot of a young master had his roots in the Duke's castle.

His gaze darkened as he sighed and the weight of the situation pressed against his shoulders.

Reflecting on everything, he knew without a doubt that his decision to leave the city at first light had been the right one.

He harbored no illusions about the Duke's reach or the empire's efficiency.

It was only a matter of time before they pieced everything together.

From tracking their movements to their time in the orc restaurant and even their records from the Adventurer's Guild.

Sooner or later, the net would tighten.

And Ethan was determined not to be caught within it.

Still being a being of the Elemental Sea realm, he had no illusions about their strength or their sheer capacity to overwhelm him with a large and diverse force of combatants.

Instead, he crept toward the bathing area while he went into his full stealth mode.

Steam drifted through the half-open door and carried the delicate scent of lavender and something unmistakably feminine.

Slipping inside with measured silence, he moved past the gate that stood ajar, and through the misty haze, his eyes caught sight of the figure.

For a moment, he froze where he stood and his gaze was fixed upon the ethereal beauty before him.

She had her back turned with both of her glowing white arms lifted as she basked under the steady stream of warm water on her alabaster skin.
