Chapter 276 Nest of Magic Beasts
Riya took a deep breath.
In fact, she should have long expected that these magic beasts were trying to make the Green Planet as their own home. The Green Planet had only started to experience change, which allowed the mana concentration to increase in the air.
And then what?
The earthquake happened and the crack from that place appeared.
This allowed these magic beasts to come out from the dark and long cave to the outside world of the Green Planet.
And the Green Planet has much lesser mana compared to the cave below, but these magic beasts still choose to come here.
Why?
It was a question that Riya has been wondering about ever since she entered the cave. Because she could sense that the situation in the cave was much better than outside. At least, in terms of resources, it was richer.
But after the sudden attack of the magic beasts before… Riya realized that this place might be paradise for higher ranked magic beasts but it was hell for lower ranked magic beasts.
Because lower ranked magic beasts could not compete with the higher ranked magic beasts for resources. They could only try their best to fight, but the difference in power made it clear that they were simply not comparable.
But even then, Riya thought that these magic beasts were only exploring the Green Planet to look for food.
Now…
Riya realized that she was really too stupid.
Or perhaps, the answer was actually very clear from the very beginning, but she chose not to think in that direction.
"They're changing the Green Planet to suit their needs." Riya waved her hand, putting these magic beasts' corpses into her world and then looked at the few magic beasts that was still alive and patted Mo.
*roar!* <Leave it to me!>
Mo dashed forward and started to tear these magic beasts apart. He was happy that he could be useful to Riya and not only watching from the sidelines as Riya swiftly destroyed these magic beasts.
While Mo was busy, Riya inspected the tunnels and the grounds.
She was not an expert in these things, but she could see that these magic beasts were making tunnels for them to live.
The Green Planet has been changing.
And these magic beasts were also selecting and turning the areas into the environment that suited their growth the most. In a way, this would help to establish themselves in this world faster.
But the Green Planet… would be forced to transform to accept the increased mana and these magic beasts' violent transformation faster too.
Tep, tep, tep.
Walking to the edge, Riya looked at the long tunnels in front of her with her eyes narrowed. Not all magic beasts could dig tunnels and the one that was most troublesome was definitely those magic ants.
These ants knew how to build their lair deep underground, hiding themselves deeply under the ground.
They would store food and build various things underground.
When they were provoked, there would be millions of magic ants coming together to attack them.
Who could stand it?
Even if these magic ants were usually quite weak, but their number was numerous.
There were three magic beasts that were really hard to deal with simply because of their number and magic ants were only one of them.
"I can't do anything for now."
Riya looked at the tunnels with regret and silently set up a formation around it.
To be honest, a formation master was not exactly a good opponent for these magic ants. Because these ants could easily destroy the platform where the formation was made unless she was using a formation plate.
But a formation plate to kill these ants…
It was not that easy to make.
If they wanted to kill these magic ants faster, they should rely on the AoE magic from magicians or use bombs or some other explosion. But before that, they had to figure out a way to lure these magic ants out or they would never be able to kill them all.
'Another way to deal them is through using poison, but I'm not proficient in it either.'
Riya shook her head regretfully.
She only focused on these runes, which was not very effective when dealing with these magic ants.
It seemed that she could only report this matter to the nation and let them send someone else to deal with it. As for who they would send… Riya had no idea and didn't play to meddle.
But the sooner they deal with these magic ants, the better it would be.
Otherwise, there might come the time when the world was dominated by magic ants.
Swish!
After setting some basic killing formation, Riya left the entrance of the tunnel and looked at Mo.
Mo had almost finished the battle and Riya was also looking at the other tunnel entrance. She had no idea which of these tunnels were heading to the ant nest and which one was heading to the crack.
But it didn't matter.
She would just set killing formation on each of these formation entrance.
Bang!
*roar!* <I'm the strongest!>
When he saw that these magic beasts had been killed, Mo felt great satisfaction. He looked at Riya as if looking for praise.
Riya looked at Mo and shook her head in amusement.
She patted Mo's head and said, "Let's go back and return."
*Roar!* <Yes!>
The two of them climbed out of the crater and then Riya rode on Mo's back once more. She had to say that Mo is really a good mount, but…
'He's getting bigger.'
Riya looked at Mo thoughtfully.
This white tiger's size seemed to have increased since the last time she saw him. It seemed that with the improvement in the magic beasts' rank, their body size would also increase.
At this moment, Riya had just realized why those higher ranked beast masters always rented or bought bigger place.
It was not because they wanted to show off.
But small place wouldn't be able to hold their magic beasts…
What do you think?
