Chapter 151: Chapter 150 Teach me! (2nd update!)

After Zhao Mingwei went offline, Yelena was assigned by the members of the Dancing Nuclear Guild to take care of the herbal garden.

The job consisted of spraying the Bloodthorn Grass that had crystallized with a watering can filled with HP potion.

It was a monotonous task, but Yelena’s work process was anything but monotonous, as the still-online members of the Dancing Nuclear Guild were now surrounding her, bombarding her with questions.

“Sister Yelena, where did you come from before?”

“The contract says you’re only sixteen, does that mean you’re still a minor?”

“Yelena, do you still give out hidden quests? Come learn how to be a Berserker with me, it’s really fun to Smash.”

...

“Scram, scram, scram! Don’t listen to that auntie dog, do you want to learn the Power of Waves? The waves released are much bigger than those of a Mind Energy Master.”

“What are you blabbering about, you blind man?”

“Ah? See you at the PK arena, the loser is the son!”

Yelena listened to the voices of the Spirits discussing around her, and she should have felt quite panicked.

For a girl of about sixteen years old, being surrounded by a group of people dressed in flashy clothes, the faint-hearted would tremble with fear.

Fortunately, before Yelena was reincarnated into this world, that great orb had briefed her on some things, letting her understand that these players were crowding around her out of affection.

And this affection was merely because Yelena was a girl, a sixteen-year-old girl with a pretty appearance.

But when Yelena saw a group of people dressed in doll costumes surrounding her, it still took her a long time to adjust her emotions, barely stopping herself from laughing.

There was a small punishment in the settlings Yelena had agreed upon with the great orb… ‘No matter how ridiculous, amusing, absurd, or nonsensical the Spirits’ attire is, you must not laugh! Unless it is an appropriate occasion, it is the basic decorum for a well-trained NPC, unless you can’t help it.’

Yelena was very successful in adhering to this because she shifted her focus elsewhere.

“You call him Laughing Master?” Yelena asked.

Actually, Yelena’s question somewhat broke the rules set by the great orb, but she had to take the risk.

Because she was afraid that during her ten days at this stronghold, she might never see Zhao Mingwei again.

“Actually asking about Laughing Master?”

“NPCs in Pirate Bay also change their addresses based on the players’ conversations.”

Listening to the players’ discussions around her, Yelena remembered the advice the great orb had given her about conversing with Spirits, which was best done using the sentence patterns it provided.

But what was intriguing was… the great orb, while teaching Yelena how to converse with Spirits, had added, ‘You can learn it or not, it’s just a way to ensure nothing unexpected happens to your life.’

Yelena learned quickly, but she still habitually used her previous way of conversing, and it didn’t seem to cause any issues?

“Is he very powerful?”

Yelena observed the Spirits’ reactions and noticed a subtle change on the faces of the members of the Dancing Nuclear Guild whenever Laughing Master was mentioned. The most common expression she saw was admiration.

“The most valuable pro player in the fray, if it were two years ago, Laughing Master would probably have been called the Great Demon Lord.”

“Right, I always got excited seeing Laughing Master make an entrance in the pro promotional videos for the fray.”

“Wonder if Spirits will ever have professional competitions in the future, alas, it’s a pity that Laughing Master is now semi-retired.”

“But he remains the number one person in my heart in the fray! The mighty Demon Lord who has the power to wield thunder and score triple kills on the battlefield.”

Yelena listened quietly to the murmuring discussions of the people from the Dancing Nuclear Guild beside her, and when Zhao Mingwei was brought up, their conversations shifted from teasing Yelena to… arguments, debates about Mingwei’s numerous great achievements.

Some of the keywords were beyond Yelena’s understanding, but from their conversations, the image of a profound yet reclusive master named Zhao Mingwei was gradually taking root in her mind.

“You want Xiao Ye to take you as an apprentice?”

As Yelena was lost in thought, a very familiar voice rang out beside her ear.

She turned her head and saw a Summoner squatting in front of her wearing pixelated sunglasses.

“You are…” Why did Yelena feel like she had seen this Summoner somewhere before?

“I didn’t update today, and just now when I fought with you… The Mind Energy Master who knocked you down belongs to my guild, Nameless.” Jiang Qiao didn’t shake hands with her; instead, Yelena was turned into a tool player half an hour after being hired.

Unless something unexpected happened, she would have to repeat the process of feeding Bloodthorn Grass HP potions for the next ten days.

“Guild leader?” Yelena looked at Jiang Qiao with a skeptical eye. Jiang Qiao’s current outfit was incredibly suspicious, especially those pixelated sunglasses. If it wasn’t for all the burly men from the Dancing Nuclear Guild standing behind him, she might have thought Jiang Qiao was some kind of kidnapper.

“You should be able to see the symbol above my head.” Jiang Qiao pointed to the text floating above his head. After being turned into tool players by Jiang Qiao, they inherited some NPC characteristics.

This included the Divine Spirit’s interaction interface NPC version, which allowed them to see every player’s ID above their head, as well as the title above the ID and the guild name below it.

“Pioneer of the Divine War, I didn’t update today, Nameless.” Yelena read out the three lines of text floating above Jiang Qiao’s head in order.

Yelena remembered that Mingwei’s ID also had the Nameless symbol under it.

“How can I get him to acknowledge me? Is there a challenge, or is it about talent?” Yelena also eavesdropped on the discussions of the Dancing Nuclear Guild members about Mingwei.

The discussions included phrases like “Xiao Ye’s classic scriptures and moments of mastery,” “True fans of Xiao Ye can converse using Xiao Ye’s jokes,” and “What are you kids implying?”

This made Yelena see Mingwei’s master image grow even larger in her mind, as if he were one of those Sages dwelling deep within the Mage Tower, detached from worldly affairs.

“It’s simple, you just need to act cute,” Jiang Qiao pointed out a straightforward path to Yelena.

“Act… cute?” This was the first time Yelena had heard this unfamiliar term.

“To describe it in the simplest way, it means to behave adorably.” Jiang Qiao pointed again to the symbol on his forehead: “Soon, a Priest with a fluffy rabbit mark will appear in this stronghold. You can observe her behavior. Of course, don’t deliberately mimic her; if you do, it will backfire.”

Jiang Qiao wanted to add, “This should be quite easy for you,” but after thinking about it, he decided not to say it.

Yelena Shuzhelles, currently one of the most interesting of the six Otherworld NPC people that Jiang Qiao had come across. Her interest wasn’t limited to her character setting; her past experiences were comparable to a grand soap opera, just like Lyla’s.

And her experiences and objectives showed Jiang Qiao the potential to exploit… the possibility of seizing all the resources of this world.

“I know about acting cute and innocent, but can it really move him?” Yelena still somewhat doubted Jiang Qiao’s words.

“Don’t worry, your looks alone can sway quite a few homebodies. Just act cute casually, and getting a homebody to fall for you is quite simple.”

Jiang Qiao gave Yelena a thumbs up, feeling that the people from the Dancing Nuclear Guild behind him had discussed enough. Without her noticing, he disconnected the private chat channel with her.

Although Zhao Mingwei was the strongest Mind Energy Master in Divine Spirit, with both the Dragon and the Golden Lightning Tiger willing to follow him wholeheartedly, in reality, Mingwei was only twenty-four and, sadly, had never been in love, not even once.

His personality, to Jiang Qiao, wasn’t so much aloof as it was slightly repressed. Some gaming legends might seem utterly cool on the surface, but in private, they’re the kind of homebodies who would buy Fureya figurines.

It was roughly that sort of vibe.

“Wait a second!” Yelena saw Jiang Qiao walking away from the crowd. She was unable to intervene and stop him because by her side, Lazy urged her, “Yelena, sister, it’s time to water the plants.”

Yelena obediently took up the watering can and continued her task; she felt a bit like Cinderella, only rather than a fairy tale glass slipper, what could transform her into a princess were the powerful forces of Divine Spirit: Blood Qi Power, Power of Ghost God, Elemental Power, and Mind Energy Power. Yelena had chosen Mind Energy Power.
