Chapter 84: Chapter 83 Diary (Please recommend! Please recommend!)

Mo Shigui led the members of the Dancing Nuclear Guild to break through the line of defense formed by the reanimated commoners. After spending over five hours to take down a minor BOSS guarding the city gate, they successfully infiltrated the interior of the royal city.

Since the Dancing Nuclear Guild had eliminated the Wasp Knight, as an exchange, the Abyss Temple took responsibility for farming the Wolf Knight.

Therefore, Mo Shigui was able to free himself to bring his team to farm Mei, the Queen.

The Guardian inside the royal city was originally a Lion Heart Knight, but he was tied up outside the battlefield by the members of the Cola Fanatic and the Supreme Dynasty Guilds and couldn’t make it back inside the palace.

After entering the royal city, Mo Shigui did not rush to group up for the first kill on Queen Mei. Instead, he headed to the private royal library within the city.

“Are we really going to get some hidden quests by running into this place?”

...

Ion Spark, with two longswords stuck in his body, had been fighting reanimated soldier zombies in the palace when he was impaled by the swords.

“Never underestimate the libraries in ‘Holy Spirit.’ Every single book in ‘Holy Spirit’ contains at least fifty thousand words, and among them, you can find lots of details related to the background story,” the Starry Scribe kept searching through the books on the shelf.

“This game’s dev team is really idle, why don’t we just go and fight the BOSS directly? Even you’ve started reading books now,” one of the top players from the team, Lin Xi, had no patience for reading either in real life or in games even more so.

However, after looking around him, he noticed that half of the fifty-two players from the Dancing Nuclear Guild had found books to read in the private royal library, including Mo Shigui himself.

“What’s so interesting about the books in the game, could there be histories of NPC’s romances?” Lin Xi approached Mo Shigui and found him reading a book called “Research on the Abyss.”

“Most of these books only contain the first chapter. Is this what you call detailed?”

When Mo Shigui opened up a book, a display interface similar to an equipment attribute panel would appear before him, showing the detailed contents of the book.

“That’s because your Holy Spirit Language Skill is too low, so you can only understand a small part! I’ve found it! The documents related to Queen Mei,” the Starry Scribe said while holding an elegantly bound book.

All the books in ‘Holy Spirit’ are written in an in-game original language called ‘Holy Spirit Language.’ If players want to understand the details within, they need to possess a Holy Spirit Language life skill.

Starry’s life occupation was a scribe, whose main life skill was Holy Spirit Language.

“Related documents? Are there any romantic histories?” Lin Xi was still interested in 18+ content within the game.

“This is a royal diary; it seems the author is the Queen Mei’s father.”

Starry put the hefty diary on the table and spread it open, and the fifty-two players from the guild crowded around the table, leaving no space unfilled.

“Back off! Let Starry post it on the forum or, if worse comes to worst, take screenshots and send them in the group!” Lin Xi, surrounded by the oncoming players, felt his health bar start to drop.

“What does it say?” Fluffy Rabbit was the first to get to the table. Unconsciously, Starry kept a bit more distance from Fluffy Rabbit.

Fluffy Rabbit played a female character and even used a voice changer, and Starry felt prolonged exposure to Fluffy Rabbit might lead to questions about sexual orientation.

But right now, Starry only had the puppet girls in mind.

“I’m still searching. I’ll post it when I’ve sorted it,” Starry started scouring the entire diary for content related to Queen Mei.

Thanks to the Holy Spirit system’s help, Starry only needed to type the word ‘Mei’ into the search window.

The search and sorting didn’t take long. Starry spent ten minutes extracting all the records related to Queen Mei and posted them on the forum.

“The diary records that the previous King had four offspring, among which Queen Mei was the eldest,” Starry said, conveying the intelligence related to Queen Mei directly to the surrounding Dancing Nuclear members as it was posted on the forum.

“No need to talk about the background story, just say the weakness,” Mo Shigui had Starry come to the library specifically to search for potential weaknesses of the BOSS.

Weaknesses like susceptibilities to fire or lightning, any special hidden quests that could decrease Queen Mei’s attributes during combat, or any musical influence that might cause her to be stiffened in her attacks.

This is a setting that exists in most games, where even the strongest BOSS will have some weaknesses, more or less.

“Weaknesses, huh? Does it count as a weakness that Queen Mei is actually very timid?” Starry Evening glanced at the diary and said.

“Timid? What item does she fear?” Mo Shigui immediately asked.

“Snakes, ghosts, phantoms, and the like, and she also fears being alone a lot,” Starry Evening said.

“Most girls are afraid of these things, aren’t they? I’m scared of snakes and ghosts too,” Fuzzy Bunny said in a low voice on the side.

The members of the guild gave Fuzzy Bunny a sidelong glance, none of them responding.

“So, you mean undead type attacks are very effective against her?” Mo Shigui, on the other hand, tried to locate Queen Mei’s weakness.

“I’m not too sure, but Queen Mei has been very frail since birth. A memorandum by the former king goes like this, ‘I’m really worried whether she can survive the coming-of-age ceremony at eighteen, I hope the Sea Blue Goddess will look after this poor child.’” Starry Evening said.

“I saw the official website’s promotional pictures and thought this was a high and mighty queen archetype BOSS, but reading these little details, why do I feel like the aloof persona has shattered somewhat?” a member of the guild said.

“Afraid of ghosts and also frail, why do I feel like I’m bullying a child? It’s kind of hard to go through with this,” Ion Spark glanced at the post Starry Evening made on the forum.

“Eh! There’s also a little diary in here, it seems to be written by Queen Mei herself!”

Starry Evening’s eyes lit up with excitement upon seeing the small diary; he was even more thrilled than if he had obtained epic-level equipment.

The color of the text on the cover of this little diary appeared orange to Starry Evening’s eyes.

“What? Queen Mei’s diary, read it quickly!” Ion Spark immediately shouted.

All members of the Dancing Nuclear Guild were also in a state of excitement, but suddenly, a cold voice arose from the back of the library.

“You… should not have come here.”

The moment Mo Shigui heard this voice, he saw a super long health bar materialize in front of him.

‘Queen Mei, Lord level, HP 34190117/95123511.’

“We’re in for a BOSS fight!”

Mo Shigui was prepared for the boss to come after them personally. The outcome of the unexpected intrusion by Wasp Knight during the battle with Wolf Knight had almost left Mo Shigui in a state of meltdown.

But by the time Mo Shigui gave a warning, it was too late. Crimson blood spilled over the floor of the library, and a giant blood-formed lance, accompanied by a torrent of book pages, flew into the air. The lance instantly pierced through three members of the Dancing Nuclear Guild, Ion Spark among them.

“Can you bring yourself to do it now?” Rain Song asked on the side, raising his shield to question Ion Spark. @@novelbin@@

“Give me a dispel first! I’m going to bleed to death here!” Ion Spark was accustomed to having all sorts of strange things sticking out of his chest.

“I’m a Shield Warrior, I don’t do dispels.”

No sooner had Rain Song finished speaking than a rain of blood began to pour from the library’s ceiling…

“His target is Starry Evening! This really did trigger a hidden quest!” Mo Shigui shouted.

“Getting chased for taking a girl’s diary is pretty normal. I’d do the same. Also, what should we do now, Guild leader?”

Fuzzy Bunny cast a BUFF on all team members, while another blood-formed greatsword was already falling from the sky.

“Run! First take the key item and leave the library!”

Mo Shigui shouted out loud, this cramped space was definitely not conducive to team fighting.
