Saving the World in an Apocalypse-Style Text Game

Chapter 74 - 74 Listing Testimonial_1

Chapter 74: Listing Testimonial_1 Chapter 74: Listing Testimonial_1 I remember first encountering web novels when I was in junior high.

At that time, I spent my days obsessed with arcades and happened to come across a web novel with King of Fighters ’97 settings… After this, things spiraled out of control and I added another hobby to my list in addition to playing games.

I remember when beepers were everywhere and smartphones hadn’t become popular yet. If you wanted to read a novel, you had to rent it from a bookstore.

A book had a deposit of 20 yuan and was one yuan per day.

From renting books to reading on computers and then on mobile devices, I’ve been reading books for over ten years now.

Any seasoned bookworm would know the discomfort of running out of books to read. When I saw those terribly written books, I couldn’t help but ridicule: “What the hell is this? I could do a better job.”

As it happened, due to certain irresistible factors, I was unemployed at home half a year ago.

With nothing to do, I began to entertain the idea of writing my own web novel.

As it turns out, I couldn’t…

The first book, posted directly on QiDian, was rejected after 30,000 words, so I gave up.

I couldn’t help but doubt myself, searching within me for the reasons, studying the writing techniques of web novels.

After some learning, I felt as if I had grasped the essence of it.

Immediately I began to write the second book, this time, I was smarter and sent it directly to the editor.

After it was approved, I was so happy, wishing I could sign a contract today and achieve divine status tomorrow.

The joy of getting that approval made me feel like I was cut out for this professional novel-writing stuff.

However, after publishing 50,000 words, I only got 500 bookmarks, and even fewer people were reading regularly…

Once again, I dove into learning, studying the market, researching what readers love.

Just then, the text game was in high demand, and since I was a gaming enthusiast myself, I decided to write a book about it.

And so, the third book came about…

Honestly, in comparison to the previous two, this book was a big step forward.

At last, I understood what it felt like to be recommended.

I thought to myself, since there’s progress with each book, if I give it another go, wouldn’t the next book be even better? (Just kidding)
Since I had exhausted my new book recommendations and only had just over 7,000 bookmarks… it was far from my small goal of making a living by writing.

Enough of the sob story, in the end, I just want to ask you all to please support with a subscription.

Apostle, you don’t want me to starve, do you… Oops, sorry, went off track.

Back to the point, it will be released at noon tomorrow, updates will definitely be explosive, but since I haven’t stocked up, I’ll have to stay up late to write more.

Since it’s my first time releasing a book and I don’t have any experience, I’m not sure how much I should add when I get initial orders.

I guess I’ll just see how it goes and try to add as many as possible.

Lastly, I want to thank editor Canaan, but most importantly, thank you who’s been reading along the way!

Thanks for subscribing, love you~
