Chapter 320: Chapter 320: Discussing Prices

“Haha…” Liu Hao suddenly burst into laughter, throwing his head back.

“What are you laughing at!” Xiao Huangmao shouted angrily.

“It’s you who should be bowing!” Liu Hao suddenly stopped laughing.

“Damn, brothers, let’s do this together!” Xiao Huangmao roared, “Let’s show this kid that Dao Ye’s men are not to be messed with.”@@novelbin@@

Whoosh…

The gang charged forward with full force, rushing out quickly, each grasping various types of weapons. They fought with a reckless abandon. Most importantly, these guys were just a bunch of headstrong young lads who didn’t hold back in a fight. A cleaver in one of their hands even aimed for Liu Hao’s head.

Liu Hao didn’t panic; he stood his ground, unfazed by the surprise.

Just as the attacker got close, Liu Hao swiftly dodged the strike and wrapped his hand around the attacker’s neck. His knee slammed hard into the attacker’s spine.

“Ahh!” The lead Xiao Huangmao screamed in pain, collapsing immediately.

That one knee strike would leave him bedridden for days, if not paralyze him. Liu Hao had some martial arts training, more than enough to handle these lowlifes. He snatched the cleaver from Xiao Huangmao’s hand and charged forward.

After all, he couldn’t lose his momentum. Besides, given Liu Hao’s status, even if he killed one or two of them, he could easily clean up the mess. These delinquent youths mainly came from abandoned areas of the city or were left-behind children in the countryside, with virtually no significant connections.

Splat…

He chopped down, and a man clutching his arm fell to the ground.

Liu Hao didn’t stop. He kept chasing and cutting down his opponents. Initially, they resisted, but soon, their courage dissipated, and the six delinquent youths quickly scattered. Liu Hao watched them coldly, threw the knife to the ground, and spat out, “Useless trash.”

At that moment, two men in suits came out from the Da Fuhao Entertainment Club.

“Young Master Liu, you seem to be in quite a mood today.” A man in a suit said with a chuckle.

“I came across some disobedient dogs at the door. I thought I’d teach them a lesson on behalf of Dao Ye,” Liu Hao snorted.

“Young Master Liu, even when beating a dog, one should consider its master.” The man in the suit’s expression darkened as he said, “Isn’t it somewhat inappropriate to discipline Dao Ye’s men right at his doorstep?”

“What’s inappropriate about it.” Liu Hao straightened his suit then responded, “If Dao Ye is such a respected figure, why would he harbor such scum? I’m just helping him discipline them.”

“You!” The man in suit’s face turned grim.

“Today, I’ve come to talk to Dao Ye,” Liu Hao said, “What are you waiting for, lead the way!”

The man in the suit scoffed, “Please, this way!”

Liu Hao turned and walked into the Da Fuhao.

Inside were numerous beautiful girls standing near the staircase, about twenty or thirty dazzlingly dressed young women, each tall and curvaceous, strikingly seductive. Liu Hao, having been exposed to much in his life, showed no interest in these courtesans. He knew that in Dao Ye’s venue, there were private VIP rooms. Reportedly, the women there included respectable ladies and even university students. That was the playground for those of high status.

As for these courtesans, any man could have them, a fact that did nothing to elevate one’s esteemed status.

He went up an escalator to the second floor, then turned to ascend to the third.

Dao Ye’s lounge was located in an office at the far east of the third floor. The third floor was quieter, the lights dim, the floor carpeted thickly, muffling every step. The hallway was lit with wall lamps, and the walls were adorned with several abstract paintings, purportedly genuine pieces bought by Dao Ye from various auctions. Dao Ye was also a lover of art, skilled in traditional painting himself.

Knock knock knock…

The man in the suit stood at the door to Dao Ye’s office and knocked.

“Come in!” A deep voice called from inside.

The man in the suit pushed the door open and entered, followed by Liu Hao.

Liu Hao’s lips curved into a strange smile, and he chuckled, saying, “Dao Ye, long time no see.”

In the office, a burly man was reclining on a sofa, with a girl sitting opposite Dao Ye preparing tea. This girl was Dao Ye’s personal Tea Master. As Liu Hao entered, he saw Dao Ye lounging on the sofa, his glaring Baldy head and a rugged face. Around his neck hung a gold chain weighing over a hundred grams, giving off the air of a nouveau riche. But inside, this nouveau riche exuded a chilling aura, one that deterred anyone from getting too close, for it was the aura of a killer.

Dao Ye’s real name was Liu Sandao, a Hongkonger who had fled to the mainland to escape the law after committing murder during his gang days in Hong Kong, and he had been hiding ever since for thirty years. The naive youth of those days had now transformed into a robust middle-aged man.

“Liu Hao?” Liu Sandao gave him a look and asked, “What brings you here?”

“Dao Ye, I’m here today to propose a business deal,” Liu Hao said with a sly grin.

“What business?” Liu Sandao frowned and said, “As you know, I don’t engage in murder or arson.”

“Ha ha!” Liu Hao laughed heartily upon hearing this, “Who doesn’t know Dao Ye, who deals in profitable trades?”

“That still depends on whether the price is right!” Liu Sandao responded.

Liu Hao chuckled, “Name your price, Dao Ye!”

Liu Sandao glanced at the tea master and said, “Xiao Qiao, you step out first.”

“Yes, Third Master.” Xiao Qiao immediately stood up and then slowly walked out.

Not until the tea-serving girl had left Dao Ye’s office did Dao Ye leisurely glance at Liu Hao and then asked, “Let’s hear it, who is the other party, what’s their background, and what do they do?”

“What background can there be!” Liu Hao picked up a cup of tea, speaking disdainfully, “Just a student egg, no significant background. I’ve checked; he’s from Linjiang City, from a common worker’s family, dead father, only a mother left.”

“No connections?” Liu Sandao inquired.

“None!” Liu Hao stated firmly.

“What’s his name? Which school does he attend?” Liu Sandao asked.

“His name is Xiao Han, a freshman at Shuimu University.” Liu Hao quickly handed over Xiao Han’s information to Liu Sandao.

Liu Sandao skimmed through the information and then said, “The owner of Hanmen Restaurant?”

“Yes!” Liu Hao nodded hurriedly.

“This is going to be a tough one,” Liu Sandao rubbed his bald head and added, “I’ve heard that this restaurant has significant ties with Young Master Mo.”

“Money is no object!” Liu Hao said urgently, “Besides, Young Master Mo isn’t likely to oppose you over someone relatively unimportant, right? Hehe, Young Master Mo isn’t foolish. He knows what’s more important and how to weigh the pros and cons.”

“Two million!” Liu Sandao held up two thumbs.

“Hiss…”

Liu Hao took a deep breath and said, “Dao Ye, isn’t… isn’t that too expensive? Killing a student for two million… that’s a bit harsh.”

“Not a penny less than two million!” Liu Sandao chuckled, “If you disagree, feel free to take a right turn when you leave.”

“Uh…” Liu Hao was stunned. He hadn’t expected Liu Sandao to suggest him leaving, apparently, there was no room for negotiation on the price. However, he had only discussed a price of one million with Fang Hao. The original budget was a million, and now the price had suddenly increased. Should he call to confirm? After hesitating, Liu Hao awkwardly said, “Dao Ye, I need to use the restroom first!”

“Be my guest!” Liu Sandao, with a cigarette in his mouth, made a casual gesture.

Liu Hao rushed into the restroom.

Once inside, Liu Hao hurriedly called Fang Hao. As soon as Fang Hao heard, he anxiously said, “We can split it fifty-fifty, I’m willing to pay one million.”

“Good, that’s what I was waiting for,” Liu Sandao immediately replied.

After coming out, Liu Hao smiled and said, “Dao Ye, we are in business.”

“Agreed?” Liu Sandao asked with a smile.

“Yes!” Liu Hao nodded and then said, “I’ll pay you five hundred thousand as an advance. Once the job is done, the remaining one hundred fifty thousand will be transferred immediately, how does that sound?”

“One million upfront!” Liu Sandao held up a finger.

“This…” Although Liu Hao was displeased, he had no right to argue as Liu Sandao was the boss. If he wanted one million, he had to pay it. Reluctantly, Liu Hao said, “Alright, one million it is.”

Liu Hao immediately signed a one million-dollar check.

“Pleasant cooperation!” Liu Sandao, all smiles, handed the check to a man in a black suit standing beside him.

“Pleasant cooperation!” Liu Hao, holding his teacup, still felt something was off. Nevertheless, he reluctantly drank the now cold tea.

Exiting Da Fuhao, Liu Hao felt a sense of relief. Getting Dao Ye to act meant the success rate was almost ninety percent. He could almost just sit back in his office and wait for the news of Xiao Han’s demise. After that, pursuing Li Xiaoya would be a breeze. Every time he thought of Li Xiaoya’s enchanting appearance, Liu Hao felt an itching desire stir within him.

A sly smile curled up on Liu Hao’s lips: “Xiaoya, with Xiao Han gone, you should be with me now, right?”

Far away at school, Xiao Han shuddered involuntarily.

“Damn, who’s cursing me?” Xiao Han shuddered with a jolt.

The relationship between Xiao Han and Lan Yudie had become clear. Ever since their hiking trip, Lan Yudie blushed every time she saw Xiao Han, which sparked the curiosity of some interested parties. Zhang Feng, who shared a dorm with Xiao Han, was also aware of the ambiguous relationship between Lan Yudie and Xiao Han.
