Chapter 33 - 33 33 Caretaker Carolline Ruiz
Chapter 33: Chapter 33: Caretaker Carolline Ruiz Chapter 33: Chapter 33: Caretaker Carolline Ruiz Bryan Hawkins didn’t expect that the next day, Carolline Ruiz would reappear as his caretaker, which surprised him.
He thought that after he said those words to her and deliberately showed her coldness, this woman shouldn’t have appeared here again, but it seems that he may have underestimated her endurance.
In contrast, the Hawkins’ grandparents were indeed very happy.
The suicide of the hit-and-run driver didn’t affect their lives too much. Firstly, because the grandfather learned through Gavin Tucker that it was just an accident, and secondly, criminals who are timid and fearful often commit suicide out of fear. There are many such cases in detention centers every year, with some being saved and some not.
It’s just that this time it involved Bryan Hawkins, so the incident was sensationalized by the media. However, it didn’t last long, and was soon overshadowed by the news of Matilda Ferguson and George Morris going abroad together.
Matilda went abroad to continue her studies, and George, as Matilda’s fiancé, naturally accompanied her.
Furthermore, George wanted the Morris family to go public, and he needed to seek some help abroad. Matilda also couldn’t stay in the country; although abandoning her disabled boyfriend didn’t involve any legal issues, she would still face moral condemnation.
Therefore, going abroad was a good thing for both of them.
The Ferguson family was naturally happy about this, and Ailin Ferguson opened the Flomoon Tea House in the bustling area of G City during this time.
The Ferguson family lived a smooth and happy life, and Matilda eventually completely put aside her feelings for Bryan Hawkins.
Carolline Ruiz was determined to help Bryan stand up again, regardless of how he viewed her. Once he stood up, she would return to her proper place, as he had said before.
“Carolline, I’m relieved that you’re willing to come.” Grandma Hawkins held Carolline’s hand, smiling.
“Yes, Carolline.” Grandfather Hawkins was also very happy and nodded. They both inexplicably adored Carolline.
“Thank you, but Grandfather and Grandmother Hawkins, I’m here to work.” Carolline was somewhat embarrassed. She had thought that the Hawkins family would welcome her, but she didn’t expect them to trust her so much.
“Alright, we know you’re here to work, don’t worry. We will do our best to help you with any work-related needs,” Grandma Hawkins nodded.
Carolline greeted the Hawkins’ elders, and then her work began.
The place where she usually rested was naturally close to Bryan Hawkins’ room. Carolline didn’t plan to spend the night here every day, as Bryan’s condition didn’t require her to be here 24 hours a day.
Bryan’s nerves were damaged, so his diet had to be nutritious. Stimulating foods such as tea, coffee, and wine were not allowed for him any longer.
She asked her father, who said that for Bryan’s situation, they indeed needed to be careful. Who knew if he had really decided to give up his legs? If they could take good care of him and get him regular massages, the recovery period could be extended from one to three years, giving him more time to consider.
She didn’t believe that anyone would want to be disabled for life. Any normal person with a chance to recover their health would definitely try their hardest.
Her persistence was merely to prevent Bryan from regretting it later. He was now trapped and couldn’t get out, but she wanted to give him more time to think about it.
After changing clothes, Carolline prepared to go and see him, and let him know that she would massage him twice a day, once in the morning and once in the afternoon.
Today was her first attempt; it wouldn’t last long, just five minutes. Each day it would be extended by a minute.
“Hello, where is the Young Master now?” Carolline saw a servant and asked. She went to Bryan’s room but he was not there.
“He’s in the Flower Room.” The servant respectfully replied, knowing that Carolline’s situation was different from theirs.
“Thank you.” Carolline walked towards the Flower Room and met another servant carrying coffee. She frowned upon noticing the coffee in her hand, “From now on, the Young Master shouldn’t drink coffee, tea, or wine. Please remember to give him a glass of plain water instead.”
This was Carolline’s internship, and she had told herself before coming here that she needed to treat it as a job. Since it was a job, a nurse must be fully responsible for her patients.
“But the Young Master requested it.” The servant dared not disobey the order.
“Your Young Master is now my patient. What I say is what it is. Just do as I say, and if anything goes wrong, I’ll take responsibility.” Carolline said this just as Bryan came in his wheelchair, having heard everything she said.
He knew his family wanted to find a caretaker for him, but he didn’t need one. However, he didn’t refuse as it was their way of showing concern. He never thought it would be Carolline. How could it be her? How could Henry Ruiz allow his precious daughter to come here and suffer humiliation?
“Young Master…” The servant was sensitive enough to notice Bryan’s presence immediately.
“You go first.” Bryan Hawkins, covered in sweat, needed his daily cup of coffee. What was Carolline trying to do?
“Yes.” The servant, holding the coffee, hurriedly left.
Carolline took a deep breath and, before Bryan could speak, turned to face him and said calmly, “Hello, Mr. Hawkins, my name is Carolline Ruiz, and I’ll be your caretaker starting today. Please give me your guidance from now on.”
Bryan Hawkins: “….”
What do you think?
