Chapter 55 - 55 55 Drive Her Away
Chapter 55: Chapter 55: Drive Her Away Chapter 55: Chapter 55: Drive Her Away Carolline did not stay long. After reiterating the rules of the outpatient clinic and their hospital and seeing that everything was in order, she returned to the Inpatient Department to continue her work.
She didn’t specifically target Matilda Ferguson; she hadn’t thought she would run into her while delivering things to others. However, she, like her father, was unwilling to let anyone use so-called privileges under her watch.
Besides, she believed that celebrities were no different from ordinary people. Their only distinction was in their professional expertise. Being a celebrity just meant higher exposure compared to ordinary people. If one really wanted to use special channels, they could go to private hospitals or those with special services and channels. They shouldn’t come to People’s Hospital.
The purpose of the People Hospital was to serve the people, which included all people, not just a specific group.
After Matilda had her tetanus shot and applied some anti-inflammatory ointment, she put her sunglasses back on, ready to leave. Lottie Mitchell, noticing her action, kindly reminded her, “Ms. Ferguson, I suggest you wear sunglasses less frequently for now. After all, too much friction on the wound could cause infection, and allowing the wound to air out will help it heal faster.”
“What’s it to you?” Matilda clearly remembered that Lottie was quite close to Carolline and she transferred her dissatisfaction with Carolline onto Lottie.
Lottie didn’t really care. When working in this field, they would occasionally encounter some mentally disturbed people.
She called the next patient while Matilda left the Nursing Room in her high heels, carrying her medicine.
Ailin Ferguson saw her come out and hurried to catch up. “What’s with that Carolline girl? Why is she so against you?”
“Well, when I was dating Bryan Cooper, I accidentally bumped into her with my bike. Who knew that this damn girl would latch onto me like that.” Matilda recalled her conversation with Carolline and felt infuriated, especially given how many people were on Carolline’s side and seeing her acting so triumphant.
“You mean she’s the one who likes Bryan Hawkins? They look so mismatched. Do all the little girls nowadays like older men?” Ailin sneered, finally understanding that the two were rivals, which explained the tense atmosphere just now.
“Little Loli? Missy, you must be joking. She’s nothing more than an invincible little bitch.” Matilda disliked Ailin’s description and wondered what was so good about Carolline compared to her.
Matilda had it all – a great figure, good looks, and so much more. How could she feel threatened by a girl like Carolline?
At the time, however, she indeed was afraid of her, especially when Bryan Cooper occasionally mentioned Carolline’s name in front of her. The thought of Matilda Ruiz’s cousin, Megan Clifton, being good friends with Carolline made her feel uncomfortable.
Of course, she didn’t need to please Megan anymore now that she was studying abroad and wouldn’t be back for a while to cause any trouble.
“Come on, she’s just a little girl who hasn’t even grown into her own yet. Why are you so bothered by her? What did the doctor say? Did he remind you of anything to be careful about?” Ailin changed the subject, showing concern for Matilda’s wound.
“Well, nothing special to be cautious about, just to avoid infection.” Matilda wasn’t too concerned, as she was more eager to go to the Hawkins Residence to see Bryan. She desperately wanted to see his condition now.
“That’s good, let’s go home. Oh, George Morris called to say he’s at home waiting to apologize to you since you didn’t answer his calls.” Ailin nodded and conveyed George’s message from the phone call they had earlier.
“Dad, why don’t you and Auntie go home first? I don’t want to see him right now. Also, I need to visit the Brokerage Company to discuss the work plan with my agent.” This was true, but discussing the plan wouldn’t take up too much of her time. She wanted to take this opportunity to meet Bryan.
“Shall I accompany you?” Ailin knew that Matilda’s career was on the rise. In frustration, Matilda had deliberately leaked the news of her being abused by George Morris to the press, as it was already the second time this had happened.
Women, especially beautiful ones like Matilda, naturally wouldn’t tolerate George’s rough behavior. Ailin urged her brother to have a serious talk with George.
Floyd Ferguson agreed, even though he wanted to rely on George and the Morris Family’s backing to help boost the Ferguson’s fortune. He loved his daughter and couldn’t bear to see her suffer because of George.
“No need. In case I run into acquaintances, I’d like to catch up with them. Just go back and take care of your tea house and don’t spend the whole day with me. I’m fine. Dad, you too, go back and be with mom. I’ll take a cab there first.” Matilda would not allow them to refuse, so she flagged down a taxi and got in, instructing the driver to start driving.
Her first stop was the Hawkins Building. This was her first time at this place, and seeing the shiny tall building in front of her made her feel a bit nervous.
Xavier Estrada had just returned from negotiating a land deal when he saw Matilda standing outside the entrance to the Hawkins Building. Just looking at this woman made him feel nauseated. She was incredibly shameless to even dare to come here.
Xavier immediately called the Security Department. “Send a few people over here. There’s a crazy woman at the entrance; get rid of her.”
After that, Xavier went past Matilda and entered the Hawkins Building.
Matilda, of course, saw Xavier and quickly followed him inside, only to see several uniformed security guards with stun guns rushing towards her.
What do you think?
