Secret Wealthy Marriage

Chapter 79 - 79 79 The Last Time (1)

Chapter 79: Chapter 79: The Last Time (1) Chapter 79: Chapter 79: The Last Time (1) Jonathan Powell is quite a capable agent. In the Entertainment Circle, some jokingly call him a monkey, not because he is as nimble as a monkey, but because he has a pair of eyes with the same keen perception as a monkey.

Those favored by him have done remarkably well in the entertainment industry. Given his experience, he generally does not accept newcomers. The reason he took Matilda Ferguson under his wing has nothing to do with her abilities, but rather, his relationship with George Morris.

His acquaintance with George Morris began by chance. In any case, he owed George a favor. When George proposed to have him manage Matilda, he naturally accepted. However, from then on, his debt of gratitude to George was considered paid off.

He didn’t particularly like George, and he wasn’t fond of women George found attractive. As for Matilda, she worked hard at first, but that seemed to be her limit. Climbing any higher seemed practically impossible.

Jonathan was quite familiar with the lengths Matilda had gone for success in the Entertainment Circle. No one would turn down money, and she was, after all, making money for the company.

As for Bryan Cooper, Jonathan had been longing to establish contact with him for a while. He didn’t expect that it would come about through Matilda. Moreover, from what he could tell, Bryan apparently wasn’t too pleased with Matilda either. Nevertheless, there was indeed something unusual about the two of them.

So he came to ask Matilda about it. And yet, to his astonishment, Matilda dared to rudely snap back at him.

She no longer wanted to work under him, did she?

Jonathan could feel his facial muscles twitching. Since he began working, nobody had ever treated him with such arrogance. Was Matilda drunk?

Of course, Matilda wasn’t drunk. It was just that when Bryan reappeared before her, she only had eyes and heart for him. Neither George nor Jonathan mattered to her anymore.

As long as Bryan would accept her again, she would do anything. And if he minded that she had been tarnished, she was willing to undergo surgery and return to her virginal state.

After all, having been with Bryan for some time, she had some understanding of him. She stood in one spot, waiting for him to come out. As expected, about half an hour later, Bryan walked out to find Matilda blocking his way.

“Not eating?” Bryan asked, raising an eyebrow. There was so much delicious food, and after dinner, he had even arranged some entertainment, all of which had been tailored to everyone’s preferences.

“You’re leaving, aren’t you?” With him about to leave, how could she have any appetite? Matilda looked at him without the meek and miserable demeanor she had exhibited previously.

Perhaps returning to her former self would make Bryan see her in a different light.

“Whether I leave or not has nothing to do with Miss Ferguson,” Bryan said, moving to walk away without further ado.

Matilda stretched out her arms, blocking his path, “Bryan, I think we should talk. Can we go somewhere and have a good talk, please?”

“I have other things to attend to. If Miss Ferguson wants to talk, make an appointment with my secretary,” Bryan replied formally.

“Bryan, can’t we really just talk like before? Back then, I was forced to leave because…” Tears started to well up in Matilda’s eyes as she spoke. She didn’t want to leave then, but the pressure from her family was too much. She had always been the pride of her parents and taken as a model by others. Under those circumstances, she really had no choice.
