Chapter 75 Mist Dragon
A starry sky dotted with hundreds of thousands of shining little stars, with their light illuminating the entire starry sky.
This was the place that Chu Wuyao found herself in once she woke up.
There was nothing material under her feet, yet Chu Wuyao found that she could easily stand and walk on this place, as if there was an invisible floor under her.
Ignoring the strangeness of this, Chu Wuyao turned her head and looked around, trying to understand what this place was.
However, no matter how much she observed this place, she found nothing that could give her an explanation.
Just when she was starting to become slightly impatient, a change occurred in the starry sky around her.
The space in front of her suddenly cracked, as if a huge gate had opened, and then, a giant white head poked out of it.
Following this giant head was a torso, then the legs and finally, the whole creature flew out of the space crack, presenting itself in front of Chu Wuyao.
This creature was gigantic, hundreds of meters in length and height, but it was a creature that Chu Wuyao was very familiar with.
Over the past few hours, she had been staring at this giant creature, a dragon.
Looking at the countless snake-like scales on its body and the mist floating around its figure, Chu Wuyao felt herself falling in enlightenment once again, with her proficiency in the Mist Domain rapidly improving.
It's as if the dragon in front of her eyes was the physical manifestation of the concept of mist and just by looking it, one could easily grasp it.
Chu Wuyao knew that if she had the time to look at this dragon for a few hours, not only would she be able to perfect her Mist Domain, but she would also be able to create countless powerful skills that were extremely suitable for her.
Subconsciously, she focused all her attention on the dragon's body, quickly becoming immersed in it.
Unfortunately, she couldn't stay in this state for long, as an old, majestic voice rang in her ears.
"Human...", the voice said, waking her up.
Raising her head, Chu Wuyao noticed that owner of this majestic voice was the dragon in front of her and compared to the statue before, it was alive.
When she realized this, she struggled to look away, afraid that she would fall in enlightenment once again.
Without knowing this dragon's temperament, it was better to not provoke it for the time being.
Seeing that the white dragon hadn't killed her so far and was even willing to communicate with her, Chu Wuyao judged that she should be safe for now.
She opened her mouth, wanting to ask some questions, but the majestic voice sounded again.
"I know what you want to ask. This place is where I left my inheritance before my death."
"You're actually very lucky to have gotten the 'key' to open this space. Otherwise, with your current strength, you would never be able to get in here.", it spoke slowly.
Since Chu Wuyao was looking away, she didn't notice that the eyes of the white dragon flashed with a hint of doubt as it spoke.
But then, it shook its head slightly, suppressing its doubts.
Hearing the dragon's words, coupled with what happened before, Chu Wuyao instantly realized that the so-called 'key' should be that weird gray eyeball that she had previously obtained.
"Before my death, I used to be a being at the peak of the Supernatural Realm."
"With my powerful bloodline as a Mist Dragon, even if I were to face beings stronger than me, I should have been able to escape easily."
"Unfortunately, the person that killed me had strength far beyond what I could resist."
The Mist Dragon didn't give Chu Wuyao any chance to speak, as if it didn't have much time left and it was rushing to explain everything.
"Because my death was unexpected and this inheritance was left on a whim, there aren't many items in it, but they should still be useful for you."
The moment the Mist Dragon's words fell, three items appeared in front of Chu Wuyao, floating in front of her eyes.
A red, bloody orb that exuded a powerful, majestic aura and smelled of blood, as if thousands of people had died in it.
A white, complicated rune composed of countless, twisted lines that caused her to become dizzy just by taking a glance at it.
And finally, a blue piece of paper that seemed somewhat ordinary, but should still be extraordinary if it was placed with the previous items.
Just by looking at these three items, Chu Wuyao felt a clear longing coming from her body, especially when she glanced at the bloody red orb and the white rune.
She knew that if she were to obtain these two items and use them, not only would her strength massively increase, but her potential and life level would also be elevated.
This feeling was quite strange, but she knew that it was absolutely true.
Realizing this, she was ready to stretch her hand and pick these items up, but she hesitated and in the end, she didn't move at all.
Even though she was 'slightly' narcissistic, Chu Wuyao still had some common sense.
She didn't believe that an unknown, powerful creature would so easily give her its inheritance.
In her judgment, this was very likely to be a trap!
Witnessing her movements and noticing her thoughts, the giant head of the Mist Dragon nodded slightly.
If Chu Wuyao rushed to get these items without even considering the danger, it would have to doubt whether it was worth it to give her its inheritance.
In this world, one had to know when to be cautious in order to survive!
No matter how talented and lucky one was, if they weren't at least little bit of cautious, they would not go far.
The people that were reckless and liked to act without thinking were bound to not live for long!
"If you want to get these three items, you have to make a promise that you'll revive me if you have the ability in the future.", the Mist Dragon took this opportunity to say its true purpose.
What the Mist Dragon didn't say was that this wasn't the only inheritance it had left behind.
This was also why there were not many items in the inheritance, making it a little unworthy of its status as a being at the peak of the Supernatural Realm.
Before its death, it had left many such inheritance spaces behind, hoping that if something unexpected happened and it died, it would still have a chance of resurrection.
As long as it was lucky and one of its inheritors managed to become truly powerful, it would be able to live again!
Hearing the Mist Dragon's words, Chu Wuyao didn't become disappointed by the dragon's request, but instead, she secretly became happy.
Compared to getting an inheritance for nothing, she felt that this made much more sense, meaning that it was less likely that it was a trap.
Rather than it being an inheritance, this was much more like a deal: Chu Wuyao would get a few items that would help her increase her strength and in the future, she would try to revive the Mist Dragon.
Of course, even if she wasn't willing, Chu Wuyao wouldn't dare to argue.
Although the Mist Dragon in front of her claimed that it was currently dead, since it could leave this place, it should have enough strength to deal with her weak self.
"I agree.", Chu Wuyao uttered her first words since she had been transferred to this place.
The moment she finished speaking, she felt an unknown, higher-level force landing on her body and she immediately knew that she had established a connection with the being in front of her.
If in the future, she obtained the ability to resurrect this Mist Dragon, she would have to do everything in her power to do it.
If she didn't keep her word, she would no longer be able to improve her strength.
Seeing Chu Wuyao's agreement and feeling the newly established connection with her, the Mist Dragon nodded its head, satisfied.
"That's good.", it spoke and the very next moment, its body started to become illusory.
Soon, under Chu Wuyao's eyes, the dragon disappeared completely, turning into a white mist that flew everywhere in the brightly lit starry sky.
Only Chu Wuyao and the three items in front of her remained in this place.
Chu Wuyao was originally happy, but soon, she noticed that something was wrong.
Some time had passed and yet, she was still in this space, all alone.
Turning her head, she searched around, but she couldn't find what she was looking for.
This made her expression turn dark.
"At least tell me how to leave this place before disappearing!", she couldn't help but complain loudly, but her words unfortunately received no response.
What do you think?
