She Belongs To The Devil

Chapter 844 Dearest

Even upon short notice, King Conall had managed to prepare a feast in honor of his guests. The dining table was lined up with several local cuisines–mostly the ones that Nylah, Ramon, and Zach were fond of.

King Conall and Queen Tasha politely greeted the guests and sat with them for dinner. Crown Princess Celina and Princess Silvia were also among the hosts.

"So, how was Romania and Brenalia, Your Highness?" King Conall asked Theodore, curious to know if there was any political development between those Kingdoms and Wyverndale.

Theodore, understanding the underlying meaning, replied truthfully, "It was not a formal visit. Crown Prince Kenneth wanted to take our Princes and Princesses on a tour, and I simply went there to bring them back." He didn't reveal why he had to go to personally escort the children though because he didn't want the old King to get worried unnecessarily.

King Conall and Theodore started to discuss further political matters, while the others were busy sharing their little stories.

Halfway through the dinner, Crown Prince Wulfric came rushing inside as if he had come straight from the patrol. "Oh, my dearest niece and nephews! What a sweet surprise?" He rushed to hug the twins and Zach without caring that they were in the middle of dinner.

"Where were you, Uncle?" Zach asked in a complaining tone as he tightly hugged Wulfric.

"I had gone to get some matters under control. But as soon as I heard about your arrival, I left everything and ran as fast as I could." Wulfric grinned and lovingly ruffled his youngest nephew's hair.

"Oh, how rude of me!" He suddenly assumed a stiff stance when he noticed Theodore at the table. "Greetings, Your Highness. I hope you didn't encounter any trouble along the path."

"I wouldn't know. I teleported." Theodore smirked.

"Ah!" Wulfric rubbed his nape and laughed, reverting to his playful demeanor. "And isn't this our lovely Princess Ariel?" He was a little taken aback because he had come running to meet his niece and nephews before properly listening to the messenger.

Ariel swallowed the food in her mouth and got up from her seat. She then politely bowed to the Crown Prince, "Good evening, Your Highness. How have you been?"

"I've been excellent! I'm happy to see you here, Princess Ariel." Wulfric grabbed the empty chair beside his wife and sat down. "And what about you? How have you been lately?"

"I'm doing great." Ariel smiled, not knowing what else to say.

The dinner continued as before, with conversations and laughs.

After eating some rice pudding, Wulfric asked with his curious gaze on Damien, "I'm sorry if I'm being rude, but I've been meaning to ask… Who is this gentleman?"

Ramon laughed and asked Wulfric, "Uncle, did you forget Damien already?"

"What?" Wulfric was stunned to hear that, his brows raised and his jaws wide open. "You're Damien? The same kid who used to follow our Ariel everywhere?"

Damien smiled, a little embarrassed, and nodded. "Yes, I'm the same kid, Your Highness."

"Oh, my goodness! I can't believe how much you've grown." Wulfric stared at Damien with admiration.

After the dinner ended, the hosts entertained the guests in a separate room. They all were engrossed in conversations with one another, catching up with each other's personal lives as well as political matters.

When it was almost midnight, Ariel poked Silvia and asked in a whisper, "Aren't we going for a stroll?"

"Yes. Shall we go now?" Silvia whispered back, excited to let her wolf out.

Ariel nodded excitedly and relayed the plan to her cousins and Damien. All the youngsters readily agreed to the idea. They all were equally eager to see Silvia in her wolf form.

When they were slipping out of the room one by one, King Conall shook his head and sighed, obviously noticing them sneaking out. He looked at his son and asked, "Tell the guards to shadow the children. Make sure they don't get too far away from the Palace."

"Okay, I will also go with them." Wulfric also excused himself and followed the children.

Theodore also wanted to follow them, however, he didn't want to come off as rude and leave King Conall's company mid-conversation.

So, he settled for setting up a temporary barrier surrounding the palace and nearby forest. The barrier wasn't strong enough to withstand a full blow from Michael, but it would definitely slow him down, giving enough time for Theodore to find his daughter in case of an emergency.

Silvia brought everyone to the training space near the forest. The night was clear and breezy, perfect for a nighttime run.

"Okay, are you all ready?" she asked while hopping excitedly.

"Yes!" The rest of them were also equally eager to see the transformation.

Silvia looked up at the moon and smiled. Within a few seconds, her bones started to bend and crack. And in under a minute, she fully transformed into a beautiful white wolf with a few brown patches.@@novelbin@@

"Oh, goddess! She looks so cute!" Ariel squealed and clapped her hands.

Nylah, on the other hand, covered her mouth with her palms and almost cried. "You are so gorgeous, Silvy," she whispered, her tone full of pride.

Ramon and Zach envied Silvia a little, but they were truly happy to see their little cousin turning into a big and strong-looking wolf.

"Can I touch you?" Ariel asked Silvia, her hands ready to pet the wolf.

The moment Silvia gave a nod, Ariel and Nylah attacked the wolf with pets and snuggles.

"Her fur is as soft as yours," Ariel mumbled as she rubbed her face on the wolf's body.

Nylah hugged the wolf and agreed. "I finally understand why you like to stick to me when I'm in my wolf form."

After getting pampered for quite some time, Silvia bit the hem of Nylah's gown and let out a low growl as if trying to say something to her cousin.

"Are you asking me to transform too?" Nylah asked, her fingers still busy combing through Silvia's fur.

Silvia gave a nod and playfully wagged her tail.

"Alright then." Nylah also transformed into her wolf form within a matter of seconds.

Without any warning, the two of them suddenly took off towards the forest.

"Aww! They're racing!" Ariel sighed and watched them disappear into the forest. "I want to run too… But I can't turn into a wolf." She looked at Damien with puppy eyes as if he could somehow help her turn into a wolf.

Damien chuckled and suggested, "We can't transform into wolves like them, but if you want to race, we can still do it."

"Hmm…" Ariel thought for a while and grinned. "That sounds good too. Let's do that. The loser owes a wish to the winner."

"Great!" Damien got fired up upon hearing the condition. He looked at Ramon and Zach, and asked them, "Well, are you two in?"

Both of them raised their hands in the air and accepted their defeat before even participating in the race.

"We're good. We will be the judges." Zach forced a smile and gestured for Ariel and Damien to stand in position.

Ariel stood beside Damien–facing the forest–and set the rules for their race. "We will touch that huge rock at the edge of the forest and come back here. Whoever touches Zach or Ramon first will win." She looked over her shoulder and warned her cousins. "And you two, stand next to each other. Don't cheat by stepping forward or holding out your hands."

"Alright," Zach responded while Ramon simply agreed with a nod.

"Okay, ready?" When Zach got a nod from Ariel and Damien, he began the countdown. "3… 2… 1… Go!"

In an instant, both Ariel and Damien zoomed at such a high speed that the two boys behind them got pushed back by the sheer force of the air.

"Can you see them?" Ramon squinted his eyes, trying to locate the racers.

Zach was also doing the same. "All I see is dust."

Ariel had a wide smile on her face as she raced with Damien just as they used to when they were kids. She was lifting her gown with her hands and running as fast as she could in her two-inch tall heels. "This is so much fun!" She giggled as she slowly caught up with Damien and eventually overtook him. "Woohoo! This is so refreshing!"

"How are you running faster than me when you're wearing clothes like that?" Damien was genuinely confused as well as surprised.

Ariel touched the rock and turned around. She winked at Damien and teased him, "Be prepared to grant me a wish, dearest!"

Damien also touched the rock and shouted from behind, "I will grant you ten wishes if you call me dearest one more time."

Ariel couldn't help but burst into laughter. "Don't be silly!" She didn't have any problem in addressing Damien as "dearest" but now that he specifically asked her to call him so, she felt embarrassed.

"How about a hundred wishes then?" Damien teased her further.

"NO!" Ariel's pace slowed down a little because she was laughing too hard. However, when she felt Damien running right behind her, she picked up the speed in no time, eventually touching both Ramon and Zach at the finish line and winning the race.

"Yes! I won!" She jumped in joy and pumped her fist in the air. She then looked at Damien and said breathlessly, "You owe me a wish now. I will ask something in the future when I have something in mind."

"I will keep that in mind." Damien gazed at Ariel with eyes full of love and admiration. Ariel was glistening so beautifully under the cool moonlight that he ended up pulling her into a hug and kissing her forehead, completely forgetting Ramon and Zach's presence.

"Ahem!" Zach pretended to cough and murmured while looking away, "You two should get married first."

Ariel felt so shy that she ended up pushing Damien away. "Oh, look! Nylah and Silvia are back!" she shouted to divert everyone's attention somewhere else.

"Where? I don't see them." Zach craned his neck and looked around, but didn't see those two.
