Chapter 118: Chapter 118: Did He Get Crippled?
“Then send mine along with it!” Chen Huaying brought many things and was originally worried that her locker was too crammed. She disliked tidying up, and she would definitely fail the internal affairs inspection. Now was the perfect opportunity to give something away!
Upon hearing this, Zhang Hongmei’s eyes lit up with envy as she looked at Sheng Ning.
“Isn’t this inappropriate?” Sheng Ning hesitated, looking at the brand-new coat and regular clothing. Chen Huaying was about the same height as An’an, and the clothes fit her just right. “I don’t accept rewards for no merit; I can’t take your things.”
“It’s fine, I have plenty,” Chen Huaying said nonchalantly.
“Still, I can’t accept your things,” Sheng Ning insisted.
“I thought you weren’t the type to suffer in silence for the sake of saving face. I didn’t expect…”
“No! I don’t accept rewards for no merit.” Actually, she just didn’t want to owe anyone favors.
Chen Huaying looked at her in surprise, then rolled her eyes. “It’s very simple! Haven’t you taken on the task of writing all my self-criticism reports in the future? Consider this a thank you gift.”
“Then I’ll accept it, thank you.” Ultimately Sheng Ning did not refuse. She knew Chen Huaying might appear arrogant and domineering on the surface, but she actually had a soft heart; otherwise, she wouldn’t have helped her last time.
Now she was extending an olive branch, and she had no reason not to accept it.

Qigang Xu had just finished training people at the training ground and returned to his office, where Zhou Hong was waiting for him! Zhou’s face expressed deep concern, but it brightened when he saw Xu walk in.
“You’ve returned just in time, Chen Baoshan fought the people sent from the Provincial Rescue Center.” A bunch of troublemakers. He had thought placing the very honest Chen Baoshan in charge would prevent any issues but didn’t expect this lad to be so heavy-handed.
He heard they had to be taken to the hospital.
“Did he cripple anyone?” Xu Qigang asked calmly.
Zhou Hong stamped his foot. “Your people, always expert in throwing dirty punches, could hurt someone to death but definitely wouldn’t cripple them.” It’s really the case of a crooked beam leading to skewed joists. Xu Qigang, the scoundrel he mentored, created real troublemakers. Whenever Zhou Hong, a genuinely refined man, told old friends about his association with the War Wolf Rescue Team, everyone shied away from him.
They avoided him too.
“If no one was crippled, why tell me?” Xu Qigang settled down in his seat, reached into his drawer, and pulled out a stack of paper for letter-writing in preparation.
“You…” Zhou Hong was left speechless with irritation. “That bastard, aren’t you going to manage him?”
“He didn’t leave anyone crippled; what’s there for me to manage? He did quite well, and remember to commend him tomorrow,” Xu Qigang’s mouth curved into a smirk.
He had said before, cause any trouble you want, but never cripple anyone. It seems these rascals remembered that quite clearly!
“The President already knows and wants us to explain,” Zhou Hong said. If not for that, why would he care about those rascals?
Xu Qigang propped his chin with his hands, nodding seriously. “An explanation is indeed needed. You go deal with it tomorrow, tough work.”
“Why don’t you go?”
“Hasn’t it always been you who handled these matters?” Xu Qigang was in a particularly good mood today, unusually talkative.
Zhou Hong protested for a while before he realized it and suddenly wasn’t angry anymore. Curiously, he asked, “You’re in a good mood today?”
Xu Qigang raised an eyebrow, was about to write a letter, but stopped and put down his pen when he saw that Zhou wasn’t leaving.
“What’s the deal between you and Sheng Ning from the General Union Dance Troupe? I’ve noticed you seem to take extra care of her.” He had never seen his old partner fuss about any woman before; Sheng Ning was the only one.
A hint of warmth appeared in Xu Qigang’s stern face. “It’s an arranged marriage by the family.”
“What?” Zhou Hong’s mouth hung open wide enough to swallow a duck egg. “Is this is… is this really true? How can there be such a coincidence in the world?”
What do you think?
