The day after she started personally teaching Emilia, Mira went to Lunatic Lake much earlier than their agreed time. It was just about time for an early afternoon snack, so she went to visit Solomon’s office, wanting to nab some of the luxurious desserts served there, but as soon as she got there, Solomon greeted her with a grin, saying he had been waiting for her.

That made her want to turn around and leave right away, only to realize she had nowhere to go. She could feel the maids, Lily and Tabatha, approaching through the corridor, blocking her escape route.

Mira had also caught wind that the maids had already completed the custom inner pants they were designing for her, and they would undoubtedly insist on taking Mira to receive them.

Faced with that prospect, she had no choice but to retreat into the office.

「Welcome, and thank you for visiting.」

Mira glared at Solomon, who continued to grin, and went to lay down on the couch. 「So what is it?」 she wasted no time getting to the point, knowing from Solomon’s face that it would be something bothersome.

However, this time, Solomon ended up saying something slightly different from what Mira had been anticipating.

「I actually heard some interesting news just yesterday, here, look at this.」

Instead of scheming something, he just wanted to share a story. He reached for one of the many documents piled on his desk and took it to the couch for Mira to see.

「Hmm…let’s see… What?!」

Now, she knew why Solomon had been grinning like. He had received an announcement that the Nirvana Empire was going to hold a combat tournament, and that all other countries were invited to take part.

Nirvana was a large player-established country, second only to the Atlantis Kingdom in international influence.

That announcement had arrived in a special letter, which included all the details about how the tournament would be carried out. And Mira was looking at one of the pages of that letter, which detailed all of the participating countries, as well as those sponsoring the event.

「See? I knew you’d find it interesting. And it seems like it’ll become a really big event.」

Solomon chuckled seeing how Mira had sprung up when reading it, and then shared some more of the details.

Applications to participate in the tournament would be open for a window of two months, starting from the day the letters arrived in every country. Then, preliminaries would start the next day after applications closed, going on for as long as needed, so the date of the main event would be decided once they knew exactly how many participants there would be.

「Ohh, so they’ll be gathering participants for two entire months. I’m sure there’ll be a lot of them.」

「Yes, from what I’ve seen, it’ll be the biggest event in decades, so it makes sense that they want as many participants as possible.」

It was hard to say how many people would apply to take part during those two months, but Solomon estimated it could easily reach more than ten thousand participants.

The venue was being built specifically for the event, and included an athlete’s village with room for many thousands to stay, with the necessary installations to sustain and feed them. There were also different divisions, organized by the participants’ genre, age, whether they were warriors or spellcasters, and lastly, there was a free-for-all as well.

Victory would be decided either by the decision of a referee, or when one side admitted defeat.

Any form of deadly force was banned, or anything that could cause lifelong injuries. Then again, Nirvana’s Twelve Apostles would be there, including Esmeralda the Divine Herald and her relief unit, serving as the medical team to quickly heal most injuries, allowing the participants to be a bit more rough.

「It really reminds you of the Olympics, doesn’t it? But keep reading, it gets even better.」

So far, everything had been about the safety measures put in place, general rules, and living conditions, but Solomon was looking forward to Mira’s reaction to the prizes, which were detailed further along.

Considering how big the event was, it made sense that the prizes were also a highlight, being exceedingly enticing to attract as many participants as possible.

The winner of each division would win a Heroic piece of equipment and 300,000,000 Rils. The runner up would get a Rare piece of equipment and 100,000,000 Rils. Third place would receive a piece of equipment made by a master craftsman.

Other than that, there were a wealth of other participation trophies ready.

Even Mira was impressed by all of that, but then her mind stopped working when she heard the prizes for the free-for-all division. The winner there would receive one of Nirvana’s Legendary artifacts, and an additional 5,000,000,000 Rils.

「Only Nirvana could put something like this together…it’s all on a whole different level…」

「Yeah, I know…」

Arkite alone would never be able to organize an event of a similar magnitude. Only bigger places like the Three Gods’ Countries, Atlantis, or Nirvana were capable of managing something like that.

And because of how big it was, it was also easy to see how quickly they would be able to generate hype around the event.

It was almost crushing to see how much of a difference there was between Nirvana and Arkite, even though they were both countries founded by players. When Mira pointed out that difference, Solomon could only nod with a vacant stare.

「Anyway, let’s not dwell on that. The main point comes later.」

Solomon himself began explaining that to make things even more interesting, Nirvana had sent out personal invitations to various famous adventurers, while also urging countries to send their best men as representatives.

Those strong adventurers and elite members of the military from various countries would compete in an exclusive tournament. Which was another way to attract a bigger audience.

To top it all off, the final day would be a showmatch between Nirvana’s acclaimed Twelve Apostles and the winners of the free-for-all and exclusive tournaments. So that would definitely be a highlight of the event as well.

「This is really building up to be an event of unprecedented proportions. And I also understand why you’re so interested in it now.」

It was clear that people from the whole continent would gather for the event, wanting to prove their skill. That made a certain idea pop in Mira’s mind, and Solomon was probably thinking the same, as he asked with a grin, 「It’d be the perfect way to lure her, right?」

Both of them were thinking of Grasping Meilin, one of the Nine Wisemen who had certain habits.

She would always look for strong opponents to challenge, calling it her call to training, and this tournament would give her the perfect environment she desired. All of the other Wisemen would bet anything that Meilin would want to participate once she heard about it. That was how well they knew her behavior.

「She’ll probably be a favorite to win the free-for-all division, or the actual winner.」

「I was thinking the same, knowing her… I’m sure she’ll put on quite a performance.」

Meilin’s skill was some of the best, considering she was one of the Nine Wisemen. There were likely many powerful people all across the continent Mira had never heard of before, but she could easily see Meilin beating each one of them. And as the tournament went on, Meilin would stand out even more.

「Yes, exactly. But well, that’s why I’m slightly concerned now…」

The more attention Meilin attracted to herself, the higher the chances she would be recognized.

The tournament would become an event spoken about throughout the entire continent, and everyone would talk about the players that stood out. If that happened, it was only a matter of time before people realized it was Meilin.

Knowing Meilin, she had likely been in some remote mountain filled with powerful monsters, testing her ability, and with little contact with society. The fact that Solomon and Mira had no leads to find her location was proof of that.
