After applying the Soul Nourishing effect, the Spirit-Controlling Black Blade in Su Mu’s hand underwent a dramatic transformation.

The hilt, previously crafted from bare bones, now featured a sleek design with handguards and rubber grips for better handling. The original bone material was reworked into intricate decorations that adorned the blade. The entire weapon emanated a deeper, more ominous aura, blending eerie beauty with majestic power.

Taking another look at the updated attributes, Su Mu noted the changes:

The spirit blinked, inspecting her own small frame. Her intelligent expression shifted into a frown, clearly dissatisfied with her size.

“I know you’re my master,” she replied with a hint of defiance. “But don’t call me little!”

Her pout made Su Mu chuckle. “Are you the true form of the Black Blade?”

As the conversation continued, Su Mu confirmed his suspicions. The spirit retained fragments of the original Master Black Blade’s memories, including traces of his personality. Even in death, the ill-fated soul had been resurrected three times: first as an undead, then after being defeated by the Scarlet Clan, and finally by Su Mu himself.

The spirit—while annoyed at her predicament—seemed genuinely curious about Su Mu’s abilities. She marveled at his power to summon her and wondered what kind of extraordinary being he was.

When Su Mu attempted to name her “Little Black Blade,” the spirit immediately protested.

“Master, I already have a name! It’s Mu Ran!”

“Alright, Little Black Blade,” Su Mu teased, deliberately ignoring her protest. “I’ll keep that in mind, Little Black Blade.”

Her face fell as she sighed in resignation, eventually perching herself on Su Mu’s shoulder. Though clearly unhappy with her current size, Su Mu reassured her that as they improved the weapon, she would grow stronger.

Testing the upgraded blade, Su Mu quickly discovered its newfound power. A level-eight Big Skull Fish leapt out of the water during practice, and with a single swing, Su Mu dismembered the creature effortlessly.

The Soul Nourishing Black Blade had certainly lived up to its epic quality.

Just as Su Mu finished his practice, the Friend System notification chimed.

Opening the chat, Su Mu found an excited flurry of messages from Meng Tianyi:

The last message came with several envious emojis, making Su Mu chuckle. He initiated the trade and quickly received the buckets. Since all transactions were monitored by the world’s rules, Su Mu had no concerns about being cheated.
