Chapter 1333: Visiting demons (3)

I went to visit several other demons and didn’t find a single thing off about them.

It seemed like all of them were hiding things, but none of them were hiding the things that I wanted to find.

There wasn’t a single trace of evidence that any of them had taken the relic that the former demon king once used. There wasn’t even a single trace of evidence that they had anything to do with the orbs that were used to contain the corruption energy.

All of them seemed like they were clean in this aspect and it didn’t seem like there was anything wrong with them.

Well, that was except for a single demon tribe.

This tribe was one that was considered a neutral tribe, but there was one thing that they did that I just couldn’t accept.

That was why I worked with Elizabeth to wipe them out and to set them as an example.

No one had expected us to suddenly do such a thing, but there really was no way of letting them off.

That was because this tribe had been…

"What is the meaning of this? How can you attack us like this? We’ve done nothing wrong!"

The leader of that demon tribe shouted at the wyverns that were up in the sky.

When they woke up this morning, they found that they had been completely surrounded by wyverns like this. Then after they tried to leave to find what was happening, the response that they received was a rain of fire that came down from the sky.

When they saw this rain of fire, they had no choice but to back down and hide themselves in their homes to protect themselves.

None of them could understand why this was suddenly happening.

The only thing that they could hope for was that other demons would come to stop these humans on the wyverns.

After all, this was the demon territory, it wasn’t as if the demons would just allow these humans to do what they wanted.

And as expected, it didn’t take long before different tribes of demons in the surrounding area came over to see what was happening.

These different demon tribes had come with weapons in hand, as if they were expecting a fight.

When the demon tribe that was being encircled saw this, they were emboldened by this and finally came out.

That was when they suddenly came out to confront those wyverns that were flying there in the sky.

One wyvern came down a bit and two people were revealed.

One of them was me and the other person was…Elizabeth.

When she walked out, all of the demons that had gathered looked at her with surprised looks since she was the last person that they had been expecting to see on the back of this wyvern.

Elizabeth was the demon queen, the ruler of the demons and the one that was supposed to be protecting them.

However, here she was standing with the humans that were leading a siege on one of the demon tribes.

Once they overcame the shock that they felt from seeing her working with the humans like this, they were naturally filled with anger at what they perceived as a betrayal of the demon race.

Before any of the demons could say anything, Elizabeth took command of the situation by saying, "Do you really not know what you’ve done wrong? Are you really insisting on going down this path until the end?"

The demons that had come to help were surprised to hear this, but they soon had looks of thought on their faces.

They knew what kind of person Elizabeth was, so they knew that she wouldn’t do something like this unless she had a reason for doing something like this.

Then that meant that there was most likely some kind of deeper story here.

It seemed that they shouldn’t make a rash decision or it might bite them in the butt.

The leader of the demon tribe being surrounded was surprised and a bit confused to hear this as well, but then there was a trace of caution that appeared in his eyes. That was along with a trace of guilt.

"What do you mean by that? We have done nothing wrong that we have to be ashamed of!" The leader of the demon tribe said after a short moment of silence.

It seemed that after thinking about it, he decided to stick to his guns since he didn’t believe that Elizabeth would actually have any evidence that would be able to harm him.

But Elizabeth revealed a disappointed look when she heard this.

She had actually been hoping that they would be able to solve this matter without a confrontation since that would just make the demon race’s position worse. But she also had been expecting this since this was just how the demons were.

Unless they were caught with their hand in the cookie jar, it was unlikely that they would actually admit anything.

Taking advantage of the silence that Elizabeth maintained, the leader of the tribe said, "Look at this new demon queen of ours. She’s already working with the humans to take action against those of her own race. It’s clear what will happen if we leave her be."

Elizabeth shook her head with a sigh when she heard him say this.

The other demon race leaders also didn’t fall for this cheap provocation since they knew that they were just being used by the leader of that tribe.

They were all just waiting to see just what Elizabeth had up her sleeve.

After that disappointed shake of her head, Elizabeth turned to give a nod to me.

I patted Joan on the head and she released a breath of flames down at the tribe.

The demons were all caught off guard by this since they didn’t expect us to do something like this.

But in the end, they couldn’t do a single thing as the flame breath landed on one of the hills near the tribe.
