Chapter 1422 1422: Powers of a high elf
In the end, we spent a few days at the elven village.
It wasn't that there was something that we needed to do here, it was just that there was nothing else for us to do during this time.
At the same time, I felt that it would be a good thing for Moon and Aisha to spend a bit more time here.
It was something that they definitely needed to get over their issues from the past.
Today, we were testing something out.
"So this is one of the branches from that tree." Aisha said as she looked at the branch that Moon was holding.
The moment that she came close to it, it was as if there was a reaction that came from the branch itself. There was this layer of green light that appeared around this branch as if it was resonating with the fact that Aisha was near it.
Moon naturally saw this as well and slowly offered the branch to Aisha, but Aisha didn't take it. She just let Moon hold it as she continued studying the branch.
This was what she had done with all of the divine relics that had been shown to her.
It seemed that she wasn't even interested in the fact that this was a branch from the Tree of Life, the tree that represented the god that the elves worshipped.
"Is she an atheist?" I couldn't help thinking to myself when I saw the way that Aisha was acting.
But in the end, Aisha reached out to take the branch from Moon.
The moment that her hand made contact with it, it was clear that there was more power flowing through this branch than when Moon held it.
Of course, Moon was able to see this as well and there was a trace of disappointment that appeared in her eyes. But that trace of disappointment quickly faded as she watched Aisha holding the branch.
The way that she looked at Aisha was as if this was a natural thing.
After all, Aisha was a true high elf unlike Moon.
After waving the branch in her hand for a bit, Aisha suddenly pointed it forward at me.
I was caught off guard to find that roots suddenly came out of the ground and grabbed my hands and feet. But even if I was caught off guard by this, I didn't actually struggle against it.
I didn't feel any ill intentions coming from the one that was controlling these roots to grab me, so it wasn't as if she was planning to hurt me.
Though the way that she grabbed me…
It didn't feel like she was planning on doing anything nice to me either…
After being grabbed by the roots, I was pulled off the ground until I was suspended there in the air. With the roots holding my arms and legs, I was being spread out in a T pose while being lifted in the air.
"What are you doing?" I said after being lifted into the air like this.
Aisha just had a teasing smile on her face as she walked forward. She came right up under where I was being held in the air and then suddenly looked down in between my legs.
That was when a chill ran down my spine.
Would she really do something like this in front of her daughter?
But it turned out that Moon had even turned away from this.
It wasn't that she couldn't bear to see this, it was that they had planned this ahead of time.
I couldn't help shaking my head with a bitter smile before making the Staff of Earth appear in my hand. Once that Staff of Earth appeared, I pointed it down at where Aisha was.
The moment that I did, there was this earth wall that appeared around her.
It was in a circular shape, so it completely surrounded her and cut her off from the outside world. Even if she wanted to do something, there just wasn't anything that she could do when she was surrounded like this.
The other thing that happened was that there was ice that formed around the vines that were holding me up.
These vines quickly shattered to pieces when they were surrounded in ice like this. They shattered apart like glass with the way that they broke up after being frozen by the ice that I created.
I fell back down to the ground, but I didn't let my guard down.
That was because I could feel the sensation that was coming from the Staff of Earth. This was a sensation that was being transmitted from the wall of earth that I had raised around Aisha.
It didn't take long for roots to poke holes in that wall of earth.
That wall was made with the power of the Staff of Earth, but these roots were made with the power of the Branch of Life. That branch was a relic that was on the same level as my staff after all.
It was only natural that it would be able to break through.
"Do you really think that this little bit of dirt is enough to stop me?" Aisha asked as her head poked out of the hole in the wall.
The way that she said this really reminded me of a famous scene from my past life, it was a famous scene from a famous horror movie…
All that was missing was the axe…
But with a shake of my head and a sigh, I raised the Staff of Earth again and created tendrils of earth to match the roots that she created.
I wanted to test out the power that a high elf had.
In the end, I wasn't disappointed by the power that she wielded.
Even if she didn't have the same proficiency with the Branch of Life that Moon had, she had the power that she wielded as a high elf.
It was more than enough for her to match me.
"As expected of a high elf."
What do you think?
