Chapter 603 602: The Price?
After killing himself with his Phantom Plague Axe Intent, Corey found himself in an entirely dark space where he had no sense of direction and no feeling of his body. It felt like only his mind was present in this strange world but at the same time, it didn't feel like such.
'Where am I?'
Corey wondered, and he tried 'looking' around, but he felt and saw nothing.
'I can still think, but I can't see, hear, or feel anything… The Clown once said that there's a price that has to be paid by those who died in the Shattered Dimension… I wonder what price I'll have to pay or if I'll pay a price.'
A second after Corey had this thought, he suddenly began to hear whispers and ravings. He was stunned at first, but then the whispers and ravings began to get louder and incomprehensible.
Soon, the whispers and ravings became so loud, so incomprehensible, and so maddening to the point that Corey began to 'scream' in pain. If not for the lack of sound in this dark space, his scream would have shaken the hearts and minds of anybody that was in a kilometer wide radius.
Corey tried to withstand the pain of the whispers and ravings, but the pain seemed to reach a part of his being that was extremely foreign to him and beyond his understanding.
An unknown amount of time later, he began to feel something on his body. It felt like hands, claws, tentacles, and metallic objects that were touching his body, but at the same time, it didn't feel like anything was touching him.
Corey felt like these 'things' that were touching him and at the same time, not touching him, were extremely wrong. He couldn't find the right word to use, but his entire being was repulsed by the feelings of the touches he was receiving.
Corey tried to move, but there was nothing for him to move.
'What the hell is this?'
The moment Corey had this thought, he saw.
Light began to appear in the completely dark space, and the sources of these light were eyes. Eyes of completely different sizes, colours, shapes, and intents.
If Corey had eyes, his eyes would be popping out of its sockets because of the sheer number and horrific sight of these eyes.
His mind froze in the presence of these eyes, and he felt like a spec of dust, a being that was not even worthy to be called an ant before these eyes.
Corey felt like his mind was about to shatter and implode the more he looked at the eyes surrounding him. Fortunately for him, just as he was about to reach his limit, he vanished.
The eyes remained without blinking, but for those who powerful enough to sense the changes in the eyes, they would realize that there was a tinge of anger in them. The whispers and ravings became much louder and intense after Corey left.
Six seconds later, the eyes slowly vanished one by one, and the whispers and ravings also vanished.

Cough! Cough! Cough!
In a completely white unknown room, Corey appeared above a glowing white formation on his knees. He coughed out spit and water repeatedly, and thick veins could be vividly seen on his head as he knelt. Find your next read at My Virtual Library Empire
Corey clenched his fists tightly and his eyes were closed tightly as he struggled to withstand the pain of the ravings and whispers.
After five minutes, Corey finally calmed down. He exhaled deeply, and a few seconds later, he looked around.
A flicker of confusion flashed through his eyes, and he slowly stood to his feet.
'Where am I?'
Corey looked around once again, and then his eyes landed on the ground. A flicker of intrigue and curiosity flashed in his eyes as he looked at the formation.
His eyes turned pure white, but the moment he did, his eyes shifted to the only door in the room. The door knob turned, and then the door opened, revealing a middle aged man with one eye.
"Another one? So many of you have been dying in the past hour, what the hell is going on? Unfortunately we're not allowed to watch what's going on in the Shattered Dimension."
Corey furrowed his brows slightly at the words of the one eyed man who was an official of the Underworld.
"Where am I?" Although he had an idea as to where he was, he preferred hearing the answer from the Underworld official.
"You're at a resurrection center because you died in the Shattered Dimension." The Underworld official looked at Corey from up to down, and then a flicker of surprise flashed in his eyes.
"At least, you look okay. Most people either lose consciousness, become crazy for some time, or they are no longer able to control their bodies after arriving here, but you seem to be doing just fine… and you're a Tier 2 for that matter."
Corey suddenly recalled his experience after he killed himself in the Shattered Dimension, and he wondered if others experienced the same thing he experienced.
'If they did, then it's not surprising that most would experience symptoms like he mentioned even though they're Tier 4s or Tier 5s… I almost died or something crucial in me almost died in that dark space.'
Corey shivered slightly when he recalled the countless eyes that appeared around him in the dark space.
"It doesn't seem like the price you paid for your resurrection is related to your body. You did not lose your eye, your hands, your legs, or any other part of your body, so that's a good thing I guess."
The one eyed man suddenly chuckled after saying these words, and then a small smile appeared on his lips.
"If you did not lose a physical part of your body, then you should check your status window. A skill of yours was most likely taken, and if not a skill, an item of yours was most likely taken as the price of your resurrection."
Corey's eyes widened when he heard this, and he quickly checked his status window and the storage space in his Tri-Pupil Eyes.
What do you think?
