Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon

Chapter 607 606: Your Name?

The twister made entirely out of red sand had a width of three miles, and it was moving at a speed of more than three hundred meters per hour (300 mph).

Although the twister was extremely far from Corey's position, Corey did not dare take it lightly. With how fast it was moving, and with how vast and seemingly endless the red desert seemed to be, he knew he had to run.

Without hesitation, Corey began to run. However, as he ran, his attention was not entirely on the twister but on the skeleton on his back.

The moment the twister appeared, its weight suddenly increased. Although the increase was little and would be ignored by most, his senses noticed this increase and he took it extremely seriously.

He looked at the skeleton, and although there was no visible change to the skeleton, Corey felt like he was looking at a skeleton that was giving him a harmless smile.

Corey furrowed his brows, and then he shifted his focus to the twister and to his front.

'I really hope there's a way out of this desert or a bloody change to it. I'm beginning to get sick and tired of seeing nothing but red sand.'

'And the last thing I'll want is to be torn to shreds by a freaking tornado.'

Corey's eyes glinted with a calculating light as he looked at his surroundings. He kept on running for almost six hours, and in these six hours, the distance between him and the twister was close to the point that Corey had to use all his strength to push through the turbulent and heavy gusts of wind that was generated from the twister behind him.

Cuts that refused to heal could be seen on Corey's face, arms, and body. His face was dyed with red blood, and multiple parts of his clothes had been cut by the harsh and sharp winds.

However, despite all of these, Corey's gaze was calm, determined, and extremely focused as he pushed through the winds. Exactly seventeen minutes later, Corey noticed a difference in the far distance. He saw the silhouette of what seemed to be buildings or a mountain.

Corey's eyes glowed brightly when he saw this, and the seed of hope was birthed in his heart. With hope and relief visibly glowing in his eyes and expression, he increased his pace.

Three hours later, the silhouette was no longer a silhouette, and Corey was able to see that just like he had expected, the silhouette was that of a city with walls surrounding it.

Corey furrowed his brows when he saw this, but he never stopped running. The twister was closer than ever, and despite the city being less than a kilometer away from him, he did not let down his guard.

Some minutes later, Corey stood in front of a wooden gate with two guards standing beside it. His breathing was rough and deep, and sweat mixed with blood could be seen on his face.

Corey said no words when he arrived before the gate and guards. He merely observed them, and apart from the fact that the guards were wearing full body silver armors and helmets, there was nothing else Corey could gleam from the guards.

He wasn't sure if they were males or females, he wasn't sure if they were humans or not, and he wasn't even sure if they were living beings or non-living beings.

He couldn't see a single cloud of dreams or nightmares hovering above them, his Ears of Omniscience could pick up the breathing and subtle muscular movements of the armored guards, making it seem like they were alive and not just pieces of metals.

'I can't even see their eyes through the helmet. It's like there's a power that's preventing me from seeing their eyes through the helmets.'

'Now, what do I do? Do they even speak my language?'

A second after Corey had this thought, the armored guards looked at Corey from up to down, and Corey saw that their gazes lingered on the skeleton on his back. He furrowed his brows when he noticed this, but he said nothing.

The guards then shifted their gazes to the approaching twister. One of the guards turned towards the wooden gate, and then with one hand, he pushed it open with ease.

Corey looked at the open gate, and then he shifted his gaze back to the guards. The guards stared at him without saying a word, and Corey looked back at the open gates.

He looked at the twister, and without saying a word, he walked into the open gates. The moment he passed the gate, the guards closed the gate and Corey looked back. However, just as he was about to look back, his expression drastically changed.

The skeleton on his back suddenly became heavier. Before, it was like he was carrying three hundred kilogram (200kg) on his back, but now, it suddenly increased to 1500kg.

The sudden increase took Corey by surprise, and his knees buckled due to how sudden it was.

Corey's head snapped to the skeleton's head which was on his right shoulder, and his eyes glinted with a sharp cold light when he perceived the same thing he perceived the last time the skeleton's weight increased.

An illusionary harmless smile.

'This is bad. If I'm to guess, the skeleton which is my sin, is going to keep on increasing in weight. The increase might be small, and it might be large like this time, but what's certain is that it's going to keep on increasing.'

'It's currently as heavy as a car, and I can carry it with ease. But there's no denying the possibility that it would eventually increase to the weight of a building, mountain, or even a bloody planet.'

'I need to find how to end this Tribulation. I need information. I was told to walk, but to where? Or for how long?'

'It would be terrible if I die like this. By a bloody skeleton on my back.'

Corey scoffed, and just as he was about to focus on his surroundings, a voice drifted into his ears.

"Hello, traveller. My name is Ten. What is your name?"
