Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon

Chapter 679: 678: Do You Still?

Corey remained still without moving a single muscle even after a whole ten seconds passed.

He slowly looked around, and then he stood with a completely indifferent expression.

He walked to his window, opened it and did nothing else but stare at the artificial sky of the Underworld with an unfocused gaze.

His mind replayed every single words Divine said to him, and with every second that passed, the frustration and anger in him slowly rose.

Not only was he frustrated by the fact that he had killed Divine's brother, he was more frustrated and angry at his inability to make a decision, and he was also frustrated and angry at himself for the way he felt.

He always thought apart from anything related to his family, nothing could put his heart and mind in turmoil. However, he suddenly realized that deep in his heart, he regarded Divine as a friend.

"Damn it."

He mumbled a curse, and then his body swayed slightly and in a fraction of a second, he vanished from where he stood.

He appeared on the road that led to Neon Headquarters and walked without any destination and with an absentminded expression.

What was strange was that as he walked, nobody noticed him and anybody that was in his path subtly walked past him without so much as touching his clothes.

With the power of his Breath of Omniscience, Infinite Mirage, and the Void none could perceive him unless they were actively looking for him and even if anybody looked in his direction, they would not see him but an illusion of nothing.

And for those that almost touched him, he enlarged the space between them using the power of the void and because of that, none of them touched him.

Corey did all of this with the help of his Stars of Consciousness, however, his main consciousness was filled with a bubbling frustration and rage that was constantly gnawing at his mind.

Numerous thoughts constantly appeared in Corey's mind with every second that passed, and an unknown amount of time later, he was about to absentmindedly take another step forward but his Stars of Consciousness nudged him to quickly stop.

Corey blinked, and his absentminded gaze slowly disappeared as he looked in front of him with a slightly baffled expression.

His violet-blue eyes reflected the image of an extremely large and deep hole with long, sharp, and powerful spikes that sent shivers down Corey's spine.

The spikes were bloodied, rusted, and some of them also had corpses hanging from them.

Corey was stunned when he saw this.

He shifted his gaze to his feet, and he saw that he was standing at the edge of the hole. One more step was enough for him to fall into the hole and die.

He quickly took a step back, and when he did, a voice drifted into his ears.

"So you also don't have the guts to do it huh?"

Corey turned to his left, and he saw a woman sitting on the edge of the hole with her legs dangling dangerously towards the spikes.

He noticed that her aura, expression, and tone was devoid of emotions, and he instantly recognized the emotion because it was extremely familiar to him.

Depression.

The woman had given up on life.

The woman turned towards Corey, and a strange light flashed in her eyes the instant her gaze landed on Corey.

Corey tilted his head to the side slightly with a slightly baffled expression. He could have sworn he saw a tinge of lust flash in her eyes before it was swapped with genuine pain and sadness.

"I saw you walking absentmindedly to this cursed place with an aura of pain and sadness, and I thought I was going to see another person jump off."

"Fortunately or unfortunately, you're like me. You don't have the courage to jump off."

Corey furrowed his brows slightly, and then he shifted his gaze from the woman to the extremely large and deep hole.

"What is this place?"

The woman at first did not respond, but a second later, her eyes slowly widened in shock and disbelief.

"What? You don't know what this place is?"

Corey shook his head, and a confused expression appeared on the woman's face.

"If you don't know what this place is, then why did you come here with a conflicted and sad expression and aura?"

Corey said nothing, and the woman sighed.

"This place is one of the farms of the Devourers."

The woman paused and stared at the hole with a hollow gaze. She remained like this for four seconds, and then she continued speaking,

"This place is one of the places where those who are tired of their lives come to end it... Basically, it's a suicide zone."

Corey furrowed his brows when he heard this, and he looked at the hole. Although he had ignored it before because he was used to seeing so much of it in the Underworld, what he was seeing above the hole was not just an empty space.

What he was seeing above the hole was an extremely dense cloud of Nightmares.

The cloud was black, red, and deep violet. Thick bolts of black lightning flashed in the cloud of Nightmares, making the cloud look like the clouds from the depths of the Nightmare realm or the deepest parts of the Infernal realm.

Corey furrowed his brows slightly when he saw the Nightmare Cloud, and although it looked terrifying, Corey could vividly remember the appearance of the Nightmare Cloud that's above the workplace of the Terror Queen.

"The members of the Devourers created this place, and whenever the number of people that come here to commit suicide reaches a certain number, they harvest the corpses and devour them."

Corey frowned when he heard the woman's voice, and he suddenly recalled that his Master was once threatened by the Devourers.

'Maybe I can take out my anger and frustration on them?'

Just as Corey had this thought, the woman spoke.

"This damn place was created to make every single person suffer. Only the strong is able to survive here, the weak are even treated worse than cattles and grass."

"We're trampled, used, and tossed around with far less respect than trash... Especially women like me."

Corey glanced at the woman, and he saw tears streaming down her face as she stared at the hole beneath her feet.

"I was taken as a sex slave by some members of the Embodiment of Lust, and the things they did to my body and mind can never be forgotten by me."

The woman sobbed profusely but Corey's expression remained expressionless and he said not a single word.

"Because of them, they made my body to become addicted to sex and all I could and can think about it sex... No matter what I do!"

"Even now that I want to kill myself, I was thinking if I should just sleep with one more man or even one more woman before I kill myself."

"I even had the thought of sleeping with you from the moment I saw you and I'm always extremely disgusted by my body and thoughts."

"I hate this place so much and I want to leave!"

The woman sobbed the more, and then she covered her eyes tears poured down her hands.

Corey remained silent for a few seconds, and then he approached her.

"What's your name?"

"Huh?" The woman was startled because she didn't sense Corey approach her, but how could she?

She was just a Tier 2 with an extremely poor foundation. She was less than an ant in front of Corey.

"I said, what's your name?"

Corey asked once again, and the woman looked at Corey with red and puffed eyes.

"Lydia."

The woman replied, and Corey stared straight into her eyes with an emotionless expression and emotionlessly asked.

"Do you still want to have sex before you kill yourself?"
