Chapter 682: 681: Come Here
As Corey walked out of the inn, his mind could not help but recall Lydia's words and her expression.
He was not sure if she was still going to kill herself, but from her expression and words, he had a feeling that she would not.
Although a part of him knew that if she killed herself, then his fear of her getting pregnant would completely vanish.
He could have decided not to tell her that he had healed her, he could have decided not to tell her that she had been his first, and he could have decided not to tell her his name, but he did.
And not a single part of him regretted his actions.
He didn't know why, but allowing the first woman he ever slept with to commit suicide just left a bitter taste in his mouth.
Since he could try to prevent her from commiting suicide, why should he not?
'Dream Healing seems to have a way of healing the traumas in people... I need to learn more about all my skills that are related to me being a Walker of Dreams and Nightmares, and I also need to know about Dreams and Nightmares.'
Just as Corey had this thought, he walked out of the inn and checked his E-Watch for any missed notification from Divine or any other person.
Unsurprisingly, he saw one, and it was Divine telling him that a meeting amongst all of them was going to take place in three days.
'Luckily, it's not tomorrow cause I need to create a drug for Lydia in case she's pregnant... Oh, and I also need to give her that antidote.'
Corey shook his head, and once again, he began hoping inwardly that the pill was not a high level pill because he had no desire to face a terrifying tribulation just to prevent a freaking pregnancy.
Corey had barely taken ten steps before he noticed a group of five men standing in his path.
Corey furrowed his brows and looked around. His eyes flashed with a white light and he noticed that there were ten more suspicious men around him.
'Now, what is this?'
Just as Corey had this thought, the five men began approaching him and Corey stood with his hands in his pockets.
The men stood in front of him, and the largest amongst them all stood in front of Corey with his Tier 4 aura bearing down on Corey.
"You're coming with us."
Corey frowned, not because of the man's words, but because of the man's teeth.
The man's teeth were rusty brown, and Corey instantly knew that the man's teeth was stained with blood.
'The Devourers.'
Corey thought, and just as he had this thought, an annoyed expression appeared on the man's face when he saw that Corey had not moved or said a word since he spoke.
He raised his hand and was about to grab Corey's shoulder, but Corey held his wrist and squeezed with all his strength.
Crack!
"AGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!"
The man screamed in pain and tried to remove his hand from Corey's grip but how could he, he was merely a normal human with barely average stats.
To Corey, he was an ant.
"You bastard!"
One of the men to his right cursed at Corey, and with an enraged expression, he swung his fist at Corey's face.
Corey did not even spare the man a glance.
Before the man's fist could touch Corey's face, he kicked the man's knees with the right amount of force and precision that made the man's knees to break and pop out of his flesh.
"ARRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!"
The man instantly fell while holding his knees with an expression of immense horror and pain.
"What the hell?!"
"The fuck?!"
"Damn it!"
The last three men cursed and tried to attack Corey, but before they could even move a muscle, thick black chains that emitted black fumes on it appeared from beneath them and entangled them.
The other men and women who were in hiding noticed this, but to their horror, they noticed that every single one of them had been chained without fail.
Disbelief, shock, and a tinge of fear appeared in their eyes as they looked at Corey like a demon from the depths of hell.
They could not just fathom how he had been able to not only defeat two Tier 4s, but also identify and restrict the movements of over ten Tier 4s.
Every single one of them were Tier 4s, and although they had heard the rumors of Corey being an extremely talented Tier 3, they never imagined that more than ten Tier 4s was not enough to capture him.
A monster.
A demon.
No.
An abomination.
This were the thoughts that flashed in the minds of every single chained Tier 4, and Corey could guess these thoughts because it was clearly written on their faces.
"Now, why don't you start by telling me who the hell you guys are."
Corey asked with an extremely indifferent tone and expression as he stared at the deep brown eyes of the man whose wrist he had shattered.
Clap!
Clap!
Clap!
Clap!
A clap echoed in the already empty road, and Corey looked up.
The image of a man wearing an overcoat, a trucker hat, and a pair of sneakers was reflected in Corey's eyes, and Corey furrowed his brows at the man's sense of fashion and the fact that the man was a Tier 5, and not a weak Tier 5.
"Who are you?"
Corey asked, and the man bowed with a slight grin.
"My name is Jamal, and I'm the second in command of the Devourers."
Corey tilted his head to the side with an indifferent expression, "And?"
Jamal's brows twitched slightly and he looked at the state of the other members of the Devourers.
"I know that extremely talented individuals like you are always arrogant but..."
Jamal paused and gestured at his group members. "I guess you have the qualifications to be arrogant."
"Can you get to the point? I'm starting to feel a slight itch on my neck."
Jamal's brows twitched, and he chuckled with a strained smile.
"Our leader wants to meet you."
After saying this, Corey raised his brows with a tinge of disdain and mockery.
"If he wants to meet me, he should come here."
