Chapter 182 Hymn of the Paladin
Rey's eyes remained on Jett as he spoke to Freya. "What spell did you use?" he asked softly.
"Umm... the spell I used?" Freya repeated in a low tone, her nervousness showing.
"Yes, Freya, did you give him a healing spell or a buff spell?" Rey pressed calmly, though his curiosity was evident.
Freya sighed, throwing her hands up. "I panicked, okay?... It's both. I just couldn't help it."
Rey raised a brow, his tone neutral yet teasing. "If these were normal circumstances, I'd be pissed off at you for doubling his strength, but right now..."
They all watched as Jett grabbed Vond's king mid-charge and hurled him across the battlefield with his bare hands, the impact shaking the ground.
"You made the right call," Rey admitted, the corner of his mouth curling into a smirk.

The battle dragged on, wearing down Jett's resources. His once-glowing Aura was turning dim, and the light of his Lumix faded completely. The toll was visible: his movements were slower, his breaths shallow, and the blood dripping from his lips spoke of internal damage.
Jett narrowly dodged another blow, the strain evident as his skills went on cooldown, leaving him exposed. Every evasion sent fresh jolts of pain through his battered body, yet he refused to collapse. He's used up his MP thus, he couldn't execute a decent skill.
"I must admit," Vond's king said, his voice filled with cold admiration, "you're sturdier than I expected. Strong, too. Look at what you've done, my men, my pet dragon, all scattered because of you."
The king gestured toward the trail of destruction, a battlefield scarred with the remnants of Jett's sheer willpower.
"It's a shame, really," the king continued, stepping closer with deliberate slowness. "To end a gem like you. But my priorities now are claiming Laxen and those fragments, so this is goodbye."
As he raised his sword for the final strike, Jett's hand twitched.
[Mini Teleportation]
In a flash, Jett disappeared, reappearing several meters away.
"I see," the king mused, his predatory grin widening. "You still have some tricks up your sleeve. But let's not kid ourselves, you're only delaying the inevitable."
The king's presence loomed as he closed the distance again, the battlefield crackling with tension.
Jett's body trembled as he tried to push himself upright, pain shooting through every muscle. His breathing was ragged, each gasp feeling like fire in his lungs.
'What the hell? I thought I was a goner that time.' His mind raced. 'I've used up everything, and he keeps attacking the moment I recover just enough MP to evade. He's not giving me any time to breathe.'
A groan escaped his lips as he staggered to his knees, the world around him blurred by pain and exhaustion. Vond's king was speaking, his deep voice reverberating through the battlefield, but Jett could barely make out the words. Not that it mattered. 'A miracle,' he thought, despair thick in his chest. 'Just one miracle.'
As if answering his silent plea, a sharp pain suddenly erupted in his arm, forcing a strangled cry from him. An arrow had pierced through it, sending a jolting ache through his body before shattering into glowing fragments.

{Hymn of the Paladin}
In an instant, a blinding light enveloped Jett, and his battered body felt whole again. His wounds vanished, his energy surged, and every fiber of his being was infused with unimaginable strength.
A radiant aura flared around him, and he sprang to his feet with a vigor that left even him shocked.
"What's going on?!" the king demanded, his composure faltering as he instinctively stepped back. "Who's healing you so fast?"
Jett blinked, bouncing lightly on his feet and flexing his hands as if testing his newfound power. "Beats me," he replied with a wide grin, hopping from side to side. "So this is what questionable plot armor feels like?"
The king's eyes narrowed, unease creeping into his features despite his effort to remain calm. "This is some kind of trickery, isn't it?" he growled, though his voice betrayed a hint of worry.

"What priestess? Is this by any chance related to Freya? That's not a good thing but I guess it's not totally a bad thing." Jett's energy was unmatched. He felt invincible as a newfound clarity took over.
He wasn't just himself anymore, his actions, his body, his purpose were now guided by Freya's will.
The king gritted his teeth, unwilling to show fear but unable to shake the dread creeping into his core.
The tides had turned, and he could feel it in the air, the person before him was no longer the same beaten warrior he'd toyed with moments ago.
"You…" the king stammered, his voice faltering as he instinctively retreated. "You might have gotten stronger, but nothing will change. Have you forgotten…"
Before he could finish, Jett surged forward with startling speed, grabbing the king by the arm. With an effortless twist, Jett spun the king around like a ragdoll, releasing him with a violent throw. The king's body hurtled through the air, crashing into the corpse of his fallen dragon with a deafening impact.
The battlefield stilled as the king lay sprawled amidst the shattered remains of his beast. Jett stood tall, completely unaffected, while the king groaned in agony, clearly having taken the full brunt of the attack.
"But… the skill hasn't… ended," the king muttered, his disbelief plain as he struggled to rise.
Jett's eyes narrowed, and his lips curled into a smirk. "What are you talking about?" he asked coldly. "I didn't punch you, or attack you directly. I threw you. It's not my fault you didn't land properly."
The king's expression shifted to shock, unable to process what had just happened.
'Freya… I don't know how you did it, but this has your handiwork all over it,' Jett thought as he slowly advanced, his boots crunching against the rubble. 'And one thing's for sure—you won't be able to keep this up for long. I have to end this before that happens.'
Jett's tone turned calculating as he spoke. "Yeah, I've figured it out. As long as I don't directly inflict pain on you, nothing will happen to me. I don't even need that skill-sealing ability anymore. I just need to make it look like you're the one messing up at the last second to trick your damn skill."
The king's gaze turned wary, his confidence clearly shaken.
"But this won't last forever, will it?" Jett continued, his grin widening as he reached down, effortlessly hoisting the king off the ground. "You'll be on cooldown soon. And when that happens…"
With a powerful leap, Jett launched himself skyward, the king still in his grasp. At the peak of his jump, Jett hurled the king downward with all his might. The king plummeted, crashing into the earth with a resounding boom that sent shockwaves rippling through the battlefield. Dust and debris exploded outward, leaving a deep crater where the king landed.
Jett descended, his expression calm but his eyes blazing with determination. As he approached for another strike, a sharp chime sounded in his mind.

[The enchantment has been canceled.]
"For once, I'm actually mad about being right," Jett muttered, flexing his fists as the radiant aura around him dissipated. His strength returned to its natural state, but his smirk didn't fade. He glanced briefly skyward and murmured, "But this much was enough and I'm fully healed. Thank you, Freya."
