Chapter 71: Fireball
Enzo and Rebecca stepped together. However, Rebecca looked like she was bothered by something where her face looked clearly uncomfortable.
It was probably because her feet were submerged in the water which gave her an uncomfortable sensation as she walked while the man beside her was able to stand on the water as if he was walking on the ground.
As a woman who grew up like a princess where everyone always served her, this situation was definitely not just unpleasant. It also felt demeaning to her.
However, she could not protest and Enzo also pretended as if nothing was wrong.
His eyes only stared ahead, searching for where the Monster Boss was since Rebecca said it was near.
The water was getting shallower as they got further away, yet the land seemed to be decreasing.
It was completely silent all around. Enzo didn't see any monsters at all, yet there were many tracks left behind, as if they had left.
He became vigilant, worried that they might be ambushed first.
He thought Rebecca chose to come in a way that was too conspicuous. The monster was likely aware of their presence first.
He wasn't sure what she was planning.
After a while, the woman asked him to leave his Shadow Clone there with the knife she gave him, saying that they were close.
After a few more moments, they actually arrived at the end of the swamp.
There was a valley there that seemed endless so the mountains behind it still seemed far away.
Enzo couldn't predict how big the mountains were, but he guessed that there were many stronger monsters.
It was not a place he could go to now.
"Rebecca, where is it?" asked Enzo when she suddenly stopped her steps at the edge of the swamp without stepping on the valley.
"Right below us," the woman replied.
"What?" Enzo was stunned to hear that.
"It has a hidden base but it's very far underground. We can't get in there, we can only get it out first. If it chooses not to come out, we may not be able to deal with it," the woman added.
"What if it chooses not to come out at all?" Enzo asked.
"No, it will come out. A monster is still a monster. Just because Monster Bosses have human-like intelligence, if provoked, they still won't stand a chance," Rebecca replied and looked at him.
"I'll leave this to you. I'm not the type who can make others angry."
Enzo rolled his eyes at that, smiling wryly.
"Do I look like someone who can make others angry?" he said.
"Yes and without a doubt... How about when you awoke, how many people were angry at you?"
"It was natural because people were jealous of me."
"You don't know that when I awoke in the midst of many failures, no one was angry. Everyone gave me congratulations and gifts."
Enzo, "..."
He had nothing to say in response, but could only shake his head.
How could their fates be equalized.
He was a poor person who practically leapfrogged over many elites while she was already at the top of the elites from the start.
They naturally felt no pressure when she advanced further.
"Alright," he said, then stepped onto the valley.
He closed his eyes, ready to do something big.
He thought that if he wanted to make the Monster Boss angry, he could not hold back.
His Primordial Energy flowed into the ground he stepped on in large amounts.
Rumble!
Suddenly the valley and part of the swamp shook violently so Rebecca was taken by surprise where her body almost fell down.
Enzo made the ground beneath him experience an earthquake without making it shatter because to shatter it would require more energy.
Just making the land tremble was much easier for him.
That Monster Boss couldn't possibly be calm down there with this commotion.
"Uh..." Enzo was suddenly stunned to find that the ground and swamp below within a radius of more than 300 meters had turned red. Explore stories on My Virtual Library Empire
"Enzo, quickly dodge!" He heard Rebecca shouting.
Enzo naturally had a guess as to what was happening since he had heard of the Monster Boss's abilities where one of them was to spout fire.
The heat that suddenly appeared indicated that there was a fire down there.
At this moment, Rebecca's domain finally activated, increasing Enzo's strength drastically.
It was even a much bigger increase than last time. Probably because she focused on increasing his strength alone without sharing it with others.
He quickly gathered wind to blow away his body and Rebecca's body.
The woman had already told him that if they had to dodge, he also needed to help her since she did not have her own dodge display.
Her physique was weak as her focus was also on Primordial Energy.
Although she had many artifacts, she would not use them except in times of urgency.
Whoosh! Whoosh!
The two of them shot into the air simultaneously like a pair of extremely fast rockets.
On the other side, the ground below turned to ash and then a huge fireball appeared.
It was so hot that Enzo suspected his Diamond Body could also melt with his lack of Defense Attribute.
"So this is the power of a Monster Boss. And that's only at Level 20," he said, unable to help but be amazed as this was far greater than the supposed power of Level 20 Monsters even those with Half-Boss status.
"This is bad!"
Enzo quickly realized a new problem.
The fireball's speed was actually faster than his speed of flight.
With no choice, he pointed his hand downwards, trying to control the fireball to stop.
However, even with World Control which should be able to control things on earth, he found it difficult to control the fireball.
Its energy was so strong, pushing away his own energy that was trying to control it.
"Rebecca, I don't think this boss is hurt," he said.
"Silly, if it wasn't injured, its fireball would probably be twice as big as this," Rebecca replied.
"Don't say nonsense, can you stop this fireball?" She asked, looking uncomfortable.
She showed an expression that looked like she wanted to summon her portal.
What do you think?
