Chapter 414 Section 410 - "The Rebel" Girl
Mouri Misono couldn't bear it and said, "Hey, Chen Fei, aren't you going a bit too far? She's just a girl!"
Chen Fei, however, said coldly, "All beings are equal!"
The B-level Ice Ability User Susanna gently tugged at Mouri Misono and shook her head at her, signaling her not to rashly interfere with Chen Fei's work.
When Tanya was arranging to poison Team 04 and sending messages to assist the ambush by Grafki Village, she never thought about the fact that she was a girl. If there was no compassion then, she doesn't deserve any now.
Chen Fei poured out a small amount from the test tube into a small beaker and diluted it with water.
With a gentle shake, the white powder quickly dissolved at the bottom of the cup and disappeared without a trace.
Chen Fei shook the beaker in his hand and gave Tanya a wicked smile.
"Alright! Come on, drink up deep from the cup, 'Enslavement' poison, you deserve it!"
What kind of fierce and ruthless gibberish is this?
Adrian and the others remained silent, collectively watching Chen Fei's performance in silence.
The total volume of the solution was just enough for one swallow, and Tanya kept on muttering to herself as if she were bewitched.
"No, no, don't want it, don't want it, don't want it..."
You could almost imagine what kind of terrifying poison it must be, something that could be named alongside "Convict".
Chen Fei approached Tanya with the beaker, reached out, and pinched her proud nose.
"Hold your nose, open your mouth!"
"No..."
Mao Mei let out a horrified wail. Struggling, her mouth inevitably opened.
The sweet-smelling beaker was brought to her unwillingly opened mouth, and with just a slight tilt, it could be easily poured in, down her throat... there would be no chance of turning back.
Adrian stared at Tanya and suddenly said, "Do you want a chance to live?"
"I..."
Big sister struggled to say something but heard Chen Fei interject, "No, she doesn't!"
With a smooth motion, he poured it all down.
An awkward silence gradually filled the living room.
The members of Team 04 looked at each other.
Adrian: ( ̄ー ̄)
Tanya, on the verge of tears: (꒪⌓꒪)
Can't his hand be a little slower?
"Hehe!"
Chen Fei laughed and retrieved the now empty beaker; he was just a little too eager.
Deep emotions, down it in one gulp, how satisfying that gulp was.
"I want to!"
A voice of desperate fury finally wailed out.
Oh, woman!
"Antidote!"
Adrian looked at Chen Fei; it takes the one who tied the bell to untie it.
A large box full of test tubes looked almost identical in design, only the colors differed, an outsider couldn't distinguish which one was the poison, which one was the antidote, and which one was not even considered medicine.
"There's no antidote!"
Chen Fei put down the beaker and spread his hands.
No antidote?
Tanya's vision darkened. With no cure, she was doomed. Her face immediately turned frightfully pale, it was already white enough, but now it was almost transparent.
"How can there be no antidote?"
Adrian looked incredulously at Chen Fei's box of samples, having heard that Chen Fei had ordered quite a few antidotes from the witch doctors of the Neanderthal tribe.
If there's no antidote, then why order so much poison?
Wouldn't it be more convenient to simply use a railgun to kill than to poison?
Chen Fei said with a mischievous grin, "It's just a cup of sweet water, why would you need an antidote?"
"It's not poison?"
Tanya's Three Souls & Seven Spirits, after hearing this sentence, finally came back into place, but the big swing in her emotions made her voice a bit out of tune.
"Stevia powder, one of the sweeteners used as a sugar substitute. Of course, if you eat too much you'll still get poisoned!"
Chen Fei took out the stevia extract bottle that he had used a bit of, gesturing with it in his hand.
Not all poisons are easy to ingest, colorless and tasteless toxins are after all very rare. Some ingredients to improve the taste are necessary to prepare in advance.
Just a small amount of powder, sickeningly sweet, the actual dosage isn't large— a 100ml reagent bottle's supply can last a long time.
Everyone sighed in relief, in unison. They, like Tanya, thought the beaker contained a deadly poison with no antidote. It seems now it was just a bluff to scare this woman.
After all, up to this point, Chen Fei's reputation had always been terrifying, making it easy for others to take him seriously.
But the constant unpredictability of truth and deception was equally frightening.
"First, moisten your throat, the next one may not be a sweetener."
Chen Fei looked at Tanya with a beaming smile, which, in her eyes, was indistinguishable from a demon's sinister grin.
Of course, he wouldn't rely solely on deception—the poison "Enslavement" truly existed, inside the box.
"I'll talk, I'll talk..."
Tanya drooped her head in defeat, a roller coaster of emotions was not something everyone could withstand.
"And here I was thinking there'd be a roulette or something."
The devil's whispering hadn't stopped, with so many types of poisons yet to test their actual effects!
Having too rich an imagination isn't always a good thing—everyone listened with cold sweat running down their backs, thinking that the young should really not play with these dangerous things.
This nearly half-filled reagent bottle inside the box was quickly becoming the devil's treasure.
It was all Bassan's fault, really. If he had managed his tribe properly, none of these troubles would have occurred. Even the "Convict" poison would not have so easily fallen into the wrong hands. It was still unclear who had secretly manufactured it and secretly handed it over to someone from another tribe. It was very likely related to the deceased reservation witch doctor, Liese Nan, but even her apprentice knew nothing, and with her death, the leads came to an abrupt end.
"Ah!" Adrian sighed and waved to the others.
"You go about your business, Lulu'an and I got this."@@novelbin@@
Too many people were in the way. It was time to move on to the formal interrogation process, and there was no need for so many to stay and chant their bravado.
The Tree Boundary Ape had some bizarre plant seeds suitable for questioning, their effects no less potent than those in Chen's big box.
Tanya's words and her series of reactions were all captured by a small camera, it wasn't something she could simply retract.
If she dared utter half a "no," they'd release the video clips on the public internet.
Team 04 and the Bear Hunting Special Operations Division wouldn't even have to do anything—"Water Bear" would be eager to make Tanya's life a living hell.
Traitors receive no different treatment from either side.

Those proficient in interrogation naturally know how to confess properly.
Tanya, having abandoned all thoughts of resistance, didn't conceal anything.
She was very aware that a person confident enough to play a transparent game of cat and mouse and succeed was definitely not someone she could stand against. Once defeated, it meant losing everything. Any tricks would be seen through by the opponent, and that seemingly scarier "big wheel" might come into play, tormenting her to the point of neither wishing to live nor being able to die.
Indeed, just as the A-level Psychic Ability User, the Puppet Master Joshua had vaguely perceived, Tanya was not a B-level Psychic Ability User but A-level. Interrogation was not her forte; what she was good at was mental hypnosis and speechcraft, highly deceptive, which is why she had been able to remain hidden locally for so long without anyone detecting anything amiss.
Once a special ability awakened, its level would be fixed. Therefore, the person who had initially provided Tanya with an ability assessment had become quite suspicious, and the first breakthrough began to emerge.
After Tanya was dispatched here, since Squad 04 always acted as a group without any instance of being alone, and each member's rank was not low and their collective spiritual power average was above the standard of the average person, it was difficult to find a suitable opportunity to attack.
More importantly, Tanya's position within the "Water Bear" organization wasn't that of a disposable Dead Soldier. An A-level supernatural power user wasn't to be wasted so carelessly, and it wouldn't be worth exposing her for Squad 04, blatantly squandering her current value for infiltration. In many instances, she couldn't act overtly.
Following the ambush at Grafki Village and the hotel poisoning incident, because the thief cried "catch the thief" while manipulating things secretly, naturally, no results came of it. Enjoy exclusive chapters from My Virtual Library Empire
This also left Squad 04 and the Tunguska Police perpetually clueless, only speculating that there was an enemy informant among them, yet lacking valuable clues. Adrian, the squad leader, had even doubted the members of Squad 04 because of this.
It just so happened that, this time, Tanya encountered the ploy of digging a hole with a big truth. The abilities of an A-level supernatural power user were completely unable to come into play, and Tanya, who failed to keep her composure, predictably fell into the trap.
If it had been a real old fox, perhaps they wouldn't have been so easily hooked.
Tanya Ilyin Alexandrovna, whose true identity is a social undercover agent within the periphery of the "Water Bear" organization, with single-line contact. Her father was once a member of the "Rebel" group that colluded with the Third Era Civilization invading forces.
"Rebels" is the official term used by Blue Star Civilization; these human traitors, however, call themselves "Sacred Advent," an insider force established with covert support from the Third Era Civilization's advance teams.
After exhausting their resources and potential for warfare, the Neanderthal descendants of the Third Era Civilization were obliterated by the allied forces of Blue Star and Cangqiong Star, marking the end of the Three Realms' great war and a return to world peace.
The Primordial Realm, once inhabited by the descendants of the Third Era Civilization, has become completely uninhabitable for life. Hence, the surviving Neanderthals moved to the western edge of Yangzhou Continent as war refugees, where a reservation was designated for them as a place of refuge.
As compensation, the Neanderthal tribe was stripped of all military force and war technology, completely eradicating any thought of waging war again. Since they could no longer return to and did not wish to return to the Primordial Realm, with the ambitious ones all perishing in the war, the remaining Neanderthals were not much dissatisfied with this arrangement and settled down with resignation.
Conversely, those Homo Sapiens descendants who had assisted the Third Era Civilization in invading Blue Star did not end up well.
With the end of the war, they were suddenly abandoned by the defeated Neanderthals.
Having hoped to clinch their benefactor's coattails and become high-ranking lapdogs to assist in ruling Blue Star with their "Contributions from Following the Dragon," their dreams were shattered. Except for a few members who hid exceptionally well or managed to escape in time, most were captured and executed after a collective public trial.
Even in sovereignties without the death penalty, execution orders were specially approved.
Tanya's father was one of the rebel members who was executed. If his offspring didn't want to be implicated, merely drawing a clear line would be far from enough; they had to change their identities and wander. Now known as Tanya Ilyin Alexandrovna, a member of the Tunguska Regional Police, her biological father was definitely not Ilyin Alexander.
It was also because of her identity as the child of a "Rebel" member that she was recruited by the reborn "Sacred Advent" and absorbed into the even more core "Water Bear" organization as one of its peripheral members.
This time, the resurrected "Sacred Advent" has added a former master to its enemy list, the Neanderthal tribe.
