Chen Fei and Mao Mei exchanged glances and simultaneously sighed, both lamenting the other's lack of intelligence.

In the icy, snow-covered wilderness, being shot and losing blood meant certain death, especially with ricocheting bullets that caused even more horrific wounds.

The gunfire soon ceased.

Men lying haphazardly on the ground, continuously moaning and wailing, made the group realize that this behemoth in front of them was a real armored vehicle, where even the window glass was armored, tough enough to easily deflect bullets.

They dragged away the wounded and the armed personnel surrounding the mobile base vehicle dispersed.

"Those guys are going for something even more powerful."

Tanya, sensing something wrong, warned Chen Fei.

She was still too late; as soon as her words trailed off, a dull thud was heard, and the entire mobile base vehicle shuddered violently, a web of cracks about a foot in diameter appearing right at the center of the windshield.

The external attackers had used man-portable anti-armor weapons, but failed to penetrate the windshield of the mobile base vehicle.

Chen Fei shook his head and snapped his fingers.

The foot-square web of cracks visibly disappeared at a rapid pace, or more accurately, healed itself.

The windows were double-layered; the outer layer was transparent metal, and the inner was the actual bulletproof glass.

For manufacturers skilled in industrial mass production, the armor design of this mobile base vehicle was simply a cost nightmare. The military might applaud it, but the manufacturers would certainly avoid it, suffering a loss down to their last penny.

However, for Chen Fei, it was no issue at all; the self-repairing armor was already an overpowered feature on the battlefield.

The vehicle shuddered violently again.

With a total weight close to eighty tons, the giant was quite like a train head; the covered trucks were as fragile as paper models, instantly shattered, with even engines flying out. Had the vehicle fuel had a lower ignition point, able to ignite in normal and low temperatures, it would likely have exploded into flames upon impact.

Even so, an oven inside one of the truck beds sparked a fire which successfully lit the canvas, with flames stubbornly rising.

The mobile base vehicle paused slightly, then surged forward, causing more shouts and frantic scrambling.

After all, if one did not dodge in time, they were likely to be crushed into a pancake by the vehicle's wheels.

The people finally seemed to guess what the enormous machine intended and yelled themselves hoarse, telling the two trucks to escape quickly—but sadly, it was too late.

The mobile base vehicle, accelerating rapidly in a manner that belied its actual weight, rammed into and scattered the third vehicle, followed by the fourth, and then drove off without looking back.

All four trucks were thus smashed into utter scrap.
