Chapter 394 - 393: Encounter in an Alien Realm
Chapter 394: Chapter 393: Encounter in an Alien Realm
In the underground world, dimness dominated the color scheme, yet one could often see things that glowed—perhaps unique plants, or luminescent rocks, or more likely, the traps of hunters.
In such an unknown place, even Sorcerer Ivan dared not act too recklessly, so naturally, his speed was not the fastest.
“Sorcerer Ivan, were there many magic creatures back there?” Ze Ant said.
“I know, we can’t mine it now, so let them guard the magic stone mine until we have time to deal with it,” Ivan had noticed it too but pretended he hadn’t.
His main concern was not the magic stones; there was really no need to make a big fuss.
“So there were enemies hiding just now? That’s too bad,” Flame Scorpion said, immediately regretting it upon hearing this.
“Nothing to regret, next time I’ll leave it to you to take care of,” Ivan said with a smile.
“Then that’s a deal, Sorcerer Ivan,” Flame Scorpion replied, beaming with joy.
To this, Ivan shook his head imperceptibly.
If he had sensed incorrectly earlier, then those creatures might be adept in spiritual or mental techniques, and such creatures tended to be troublesome. If Flame Scorpion really took them on, coming out unscathed was unlikely.
The next day, they crossed the border from the Eastern Territory into the Southern Territory.
According to the information at hand, they still had to travel for several days before reaching the Ye Song Great Plain, and then they would delve deep into the territory of the Comor Empire to reach their destination—Yuyue City.
If all went as expected, they should be able to locate Jenny in the temple of Yuyue City.
Time flew, and a week later, the Ye Song Great Plain came into view for Ivan and his companions.
“What a vast plain, spacious with a high concentration of particles, and fertile land—” Standing on a high point, Meg gushed with praise for the expansive plain before them.
“So, what are your thoughts on sneaking into the Comor Empire?” Ivan asked.
“Isn’t it the same as before, just go straight over?” Meg paused, looking innocently at him.
“Forget it, keep on marveling if you want,” Ivan’s mouth twitched slightly, realizing it was futile to ask, then he glanced at Ze Ant and Flame Scorpion and decided to make the decision himself.
If the Comor Empire had been able to stand its ground on the Ye Song Great Plain for countless years, asserting dominance for so long, its overall strength must not be underestimated. He wondered if he should take a trip to the capital city of the Dark Elves.
He also wondered if Jenny had become the Holy Daughter yet.
If Jenny had truly become the Holy Daughter of the Comor Empire, her status would definitely be high, and offering shelter to a few alien races should not be a problem.
Then he thought, if one wanted to gain a foothold in the underground world, to draw resources from it, or even create a human settlement, engaging with other races was unavoidable, and interacting with the Dark Elves could be an opportunity.
It was an inevitable situation, so there was no need for hesitation.
“Let’s go, just as you said Meg, no need to hide our identities anymore, we’ll head straight there.”
“Oh, I did say it would be more convenient to go straight,” Meg responded.
Once the decision was made, Ivan stepped onto the soil of the Ye Song Great Plain, carried by Ze Ant in high-altitude flight, heading directly toward Yuyue City.
He wasn’t concealing his identity for more than one reason, another being that he simply couldn’t. Being human, he was different from the Dark Elves, and he knew very little about them, not to mention Ze Ant and the others in his company.
Sooner or later, they would be discovered, so it was better to go openly and take the opportunity to learn more about the Dark Elves along the way.
…
Imperial Capital Yuyue City, Temple.
Hearing the report from the Guard Captain Rosa, Kolebas almost had her nose bent out of shape with anger.
That human man had not only arrived in the Komoer Empire, but he also brazenly flew his own banner, parading through the streets as if afraid that others wouldn’t know he was here to visit the Holy Daughter.
“Your Majesty, do you want me to take some men and capture that despicable man, to lock him up in the heavily guarded Thorn Spire Prison?” Sensing the unusual expression on the High Priest’s face, Rosa proactively volunteered.
“There’s no need; let him come if he wishes. Order it to be said that he is a guest I’ve invited, and let the Alien Races not hinder him,” Kolebas contemplated.
But thinking of the four Hidden Guards who had died, she still rationally restrained her impulse.
That man’s strength was not to be underestimated, and a direct confrontation with the guard would surely result in heavy losses, which was not advisable at this critical moment.
Once that man arrived in Imperial Capital Yuyue City, in the heart of the empire, by then he would be completely under her control. However, she would need to be mindful of the Holy Daughter’s feelings then.
No, that’s wrong; once Jenny truly became the Holy Daughter, she wouldn’t be so concerned about that human man anymore. @@novelbin@@
“Should we notify the Holy Daughter?” Rosa asked again.
“Tell her,” Kolebas waved her hand, really not wanting to discuss this topic further.
However, she did not know that as Ivan approached, Jenny was actually sensing his arrival and already knew that he had reached the Komoer Empire.
Another week passed, and Ivan appeared before Imperial Capital Yuyue City.
“Sorcerer Ivan, up ahead is Imperial Capital Yuyue City. How does it compare to the cities of your human nations?” asked a voice.
“Not bad at all. Among the cities I have seen, the only one that can match Yuyue City is the one where I reside, East Blade City; the others don’t come close.”
“Giggle, giggle, I didn’t expect such a wise man like Sorcerer Ivan to boast about his hometown,” the speaker teased.
At this moment, he was followed by many beautiful women, all Dark Elves of exquisite appearance.
The society of the Dark Elves was a matriarchal realm, where the majority of those with some power and visibility were women, leaving men in an extremely lowly position.
Perhaps because they had not seen other races’ outstanding males, halfway through the journey, after Ivan merely displayed some of his talent, two matriarchs insisted on following him all the way to Yuyue City.
Of course, that was just how it appeared on the surface.
Behind the scenes, these two matriarchs, named ‘Ye Lulu’ and ‘Regina,’ were attempting to pry information from him, to learn about his real relationship with the Holy Daughter and his connection with the High Priest.
Even more cunningly, Ye Lulu often teased him, trying to win him over as a confidant.
To be honest, this Matriarch Ye Lulu was indeed young and beautiful, occasionally revealing a mature charm, with a figure second to none, distinctly curvaceous, unlike most Elves who were more subdued in appearance.
However, Ivan could clearly detect it.
These two matriarchs inherently held contempt for males, along with a condescending attitude towards the surface races, which unintentionally revealed itself now and then.
It really made him uncomfortable.
“Ah yes, yes, who wouldn’t speak well of their own homeland?” Ivan replied casually, his gaze falling on the city gates.
“The High Priest has come; it seems you two have a deep connection,” Regina speculated.
“Giggle, giggle, your lover is also here, pursued her from above ground to below. I’m really envious,” Ye Lulu’s gaze shifted between the two, teasingly yet smilingly, and those unaware might think she was jealous.
Ignoring the nonsense from the two women, Ivan quickly stepped forward toward the High Priest, whose face was slightly darkening.
What do you think?
