Chapter 411 - 410: Sacrificial Light
Chapter 411: Chapter 410: Sacrificial Light
Fake Lords possess Domain Auras, and Knight Ivan also needed to control the same power, with his Domain Aura originating from the statue named ‘Sacrifice.’
The ‘Sacrifice’ power of the statue encompasses multiple aspects, and depending on the angle of enlightenment, the final gains would also differ.
Overall, ‘Sacrifice’ is a kind of fearless power.
However, Ivan had always been someone who put himself first; the likelihood of him becoming tremendously compassionate was virtually nonexistent, nor did he like using his own power to provide others with status enhancements.
This undoubtedly conflicted with the Justice Star Ancestor’s ‘Way of Sacrifice.’
Therefore, Ivan had no choice but to spend more time and energy to carve out his own path, finding a way of sacrifice that suited him—sacrificing himself for himself.
...
That might sound somewhat convoluted, but in reality, it could be seen as a kind of high-level energy conversion.
The Justice Star Ancestor’s Light of Justice was actually a kind of Light of Life, a lifeforce, with glimpses of it visible within the Knight Breathing Method. Similarly, the Sacrificial Light was also a kind of lifeforce.
Ivan’s ‘Sacrifice’ involved sacrificing his own lifeforce, converting it into other beneficial enhancements for himself.
Beneficial enhancements mainly refer to the powers he was skilled at controlling, encompassing various aspects such as strength enhancement, speed enhancement, recovery enhancement, and element powers like wood, fire, earth, space-type, as well as the crucial spiritual power.
Especially the last aspect, which he valued most, was precisely the reason his spiritual power increased from 227 to 235 graduated degrees.
“For sorcerers, spiritual power is the most fundamental power.”
“Spiritual power is now at 235 graduated degrees, with the crystallization stage’s upper limit at 240 degrees, not much left. The next stage will be the third elementalization.”
“Through the newly comprehended Sacrificial Light, converting one’s own lifeforce into spiritual power, the process may be slow, with considerable loss, but it’s an advantage in its steady trickle without much resistance, making it unnecessary to seek other methods to increase spiritual power.”
“Lifeforce is indeed unique, confirming the saying that life holds endless possibilities, and so does lifeforce.”
Through this enlightenment, Ivan gained a deeper understanding of the forces related to life, which undoubtedly is a power on par with Space-type forces, so vast, diverse, and fascinating.
To his regret, due to his limited understanding of the nature of wisdom power, the Sacrificial Aura could not achieve such a conversion, not in the slightest.
Beyond ‘self-sacrifice,’ the Sacrificial Light also had the effect of countering other Domain Auras and suppressing creatures of a lower class.
The Golden Bloodline corresponded to the Sacrificial Domain Aura.
Now, he already possessed some of the Golden Bloodline, and could be called a descendant of Star Realm creatures.
Star Realm creatures usually have one characteristic in common: extremely strong resistance to space, to counteract the spatial turbulence in the Star Realm River. His Golden Bloodline not only brought a substantial improvement in his physical qualities but also brought a degree of space resistance and limited Space Affinity.
In other words, Ivan’s element affinity had now become five-element, encompassing wood, earth, fire, water, and space.
This was certainly good news.
It was no waste for him to journey from the surface to underground, then all the way to the Westernmost Land.
Throughout the entire Domain Aura enlightenment process, because he trod his own path, he naturally expended plenty of Light of Wisdom and Light of Great Wisdom, but fortunately, he also gained a lot.
First was the Knight Breathing Skill, leaping from Level 9 to become a Level 11 discipline, and ascending two levels to become the third Level 11 discipline on the panel.
Linguistics Skill also advanced two levels, going from Level 8 to Level 10.
He accomplished this by learning a new language from the inheritance—Chaos Language, a language of a very high level and the common language of Star Realm.
Next, the Study of Planes went up from Level 7 to Level 8, along with Biology Expertise, Meditation Skill, and Energy Particle Skill, all experiencing an increase in Experience Points.
Now, on the Academic Prodigy’s panel, after some additions and subtractions, there remain five pieces of Level 9 and two pieces of Level 11 Light of Wisdom, and four pieces of Level 10 Light of Great Wisdom.
“No matter how you look at it, the gains are more than the losses.”
“There’s still a part of the power hidden within my body, waiting for the day when I am promoted to a true Knight King, and then I can use it to transform into a complete Golden Bloodline. Just thinking about it makes one yearn to set foot in the Star Realm River with just the strength of my body.”
Ivan anticipated the promotion, but advancing to the fourth level involved too many factors, and he was not in a hurry to do so.
Everything had to be planned for the long term.
…
Two days later, two Centaurs woke up from their comas and were brought before Ivan.
Although their powers were sealed, and they were seriously injured, the male and the female still glared at him with rage, as if they were silently accusing the person before them of stealing the Centaur Race’s inherited powers.
“Show some respect for Sorcerer Ivan or watch how I’ll slaughter you,” the swamp ant warned with a menacing glance, which added another heavy shackle to the duo.
They stuttered in response but no sound came out from their mouths.
“They can’t speak?” Ivan was somewhat surprised.
“Hehe, just a little technique for seal suppression,” the swamp ant chuckled.
“Quite practical,” Ivan realized and commanded, “Give them a chance to speak, let’s hear what they want to say. It would be a pity to just throw them into the laboratory to be used as experimental subjects.”
“No problem,” the swamp ant readily agreed, then sternly emphasized to the two, “This is Sorcerer Ivan, our boss, and I hope you can keep your manners.”
Hearing such a conversation, a chill ran through the hearts of the two Centaurs. They came to their senses a great deal and understood that the person before them was likely to be even more terrifying than the strange beast that had captured them.
The next second, they felt they could finally speak.
“Are you of the human race?” After a pause, Angie could not help but ask, after discerning something.
“Not bad, I am indeed human, and a Knight who has practiced the Knight Breathing Method,” Ivan replied indifferently.
“Don’t humans live on the surface? Could it be that you have migrated to the underworld?” Angie and the male Centaur exchanged a glance before asking.
“Of course not, we have always lived on the surface. I came to the underworld for important business and incidentally sought the whereabouts of your tribe.”
He said this casually, but it caused the faces of both Centaurs to change dramatically, their eyes filled with a vigilant stare at him.
“Don’t worry, I’m not interested in where your tribe is located now, especially since I’ve already obtained the Knight King’s inheritance, hehe,” Ivan said with a chuckle.
To the two Centaurs, such a smile was extremely detestable.
“My lord, don’t you think this is too much? That is the Centaur Race’s inheritance,” the male Centaur accused before Angie could speak.
“That’s right, we once taught the Knight Breathing Method to you humans, and now you have the audacity to covet our inheritance,” Angie joined in the accusation.
“Hehe, that was something from thousands of years ago, who knows what the circumstances were back then. Besides, I cannot represent all of humanity, nor can you represent the entire Centaur Race,” Ivan replied calmly, unwilling to take the blame for something from thousands of years ago.
“No, we can represent the Centaur Race. This is our tribe’s Grand Princess Angie, and I am an elder, capable of speaking on behalf of the Centaur Race with you humans,” the male Centaur stated firmly.
“Oh?” Ivan raised an eyebrow, this was somewhat unexpected. “Let’s just say I believe you, it seems your Centaur Race has fallen on hard times, to have declined to this extent.”
The very sight of the Royal Family’s Grand Princess and elder, not to mention their capabilities, but just the embarrassment of their current state, was enough to deduce the decline of the Centaur Race, probably hiding in some remote corner barely surviving, a pitiful sight to behold.
“You—-”
The male Centaur was at a loss for words.
No doubt, these words had hit a sore spot, and Angie’s expression turned desolate.
They both fell silent again, and after a while, Ivan and the swamp ant almost simultaneously felt an anomaly; something was rapidly approaching, seemingly with a strong malice.@@novelbin@@
