Chapter 1600: The Change
Chapter 1600: The Change
Shang Xia originally looked down somewhat on the method used by the high-level True Immortals of the Spirit Mammoth World’s battle formation to raise their cultivation.
However, thinking of Kou Chongxue also using the same method to enhance his cultivation, pushing himself to the peak of the fifth tier, Shang Xia didn’t look too surprised.
Since they crushed a clone, everyone turned to the clone that Shang Xia and Yuan Chan had suppressed.
Since their battle formation was able to destroy a clone, it should be even easier to destroy another now that they had the help of Yuan Chan and Shang Xia.
However, before the True Immortals of the Spirit Mammoth World’s battle formation could act, Shang Xia suddenly felt a gaze landing on him.
Shang Xia quickly turned his head to see the expressionless clone turning slowly towards him. The originally dull and lifeless eyes started to shimmer with a divine light.
Shang Xia's heart stirred, and he instinctively looked towards Yuan Chan, the only person he was somewhat familiar with in the Spirit Mammoth World.
Yet, Yuan Chan seemed to be unaware of the strange changes as he maintained a certain distance from the battle formation while communicating with his comrades.
Shang Xia frowned slightly, just about to warn the others, when the clone suddenly retreated in the direction of the heavenly screen.
"Not good, he’s trying to escape!" Yuan Chan, who had been communicating with Zou Shanhai and the others, was the first to notice the movement and immediately warned the others. At the same time, he unfurled a scroll that merged into the void to form a giant barrier to stop the clone from running away.
The treasure from the Spirit Mammoth World had always been in the hands of Zou Shanhai, but surprisingly, Yuan Chan was using it at the moment.
That seemed to explain why Yuan Chan was able to approach the clone unnoticed earlier and launch an attack within 1,000 miles.
While the scroll could delay the speed of the clone, it couldn’t truly block it. As the void in front of it shattered like a mirror, Yuan Chan hastily retracted the scroll.
By the time the clone blew through the barrier, the Spirit Mammoth World’s battle formation arrived. They surrounded the clone and quickly started another round of offensive.
Typically, the battle formation would focus on defense, ensuring all of them in the formation were safe before attacking others.
Their opponents were always outside the formation, and both sides would then engage in combat.
Surrounding the opponent within the formation was risky. While it indeed increased the offensive power of the formation, it also made the formation more susceptible to disruption. Any misstep could lead to the collapse of the formation, exposing the 7 True Immortals to the counterattack of a mighty Martial Emptiness Realm clone.
Perhaps it was the previous victory of a clone that had greatly boosted the confidence of the high-level True Immortals of the Spirit Mammoth World’s battle formation, or perhaps it was the assistance of Yuan Chan and Shang Xia that made them think it would be a quick resolution. Whatever it was, they decided to take the riskiest method to deal with the clone.
While Shang Xia felt the actions of the Spirit Mammoth World were somewhat aggressive, he understood why they did it. After all, they didn’t have his ability to rapidly absorb world origin. The world origin that came from the death of the clone was extremely tempting, and more crucially, he didn’t think that it would be a problem to deal with the clone with so many of them present.
Just as the clone was about to be killed, he forcibly opened a spatial tunnel. The spatial tunnel seemed connected to a specific location in the Essence Ping World, and the second it opened, Shang Xia felt a familiar aura coming from within.
Although fleeting, Shang Xia could determine that the aura came from a tracking talisman he had crafted.
Once activated, the talisman could be used to locate the bearer’s position, and the effects would last for a long time.
Even though he only felt it for a brief moment, Shang Xia turned to stare at a certain location that was under the command of the Essence Ping World’s Will. Only an existence at the peak of a sixth tier Talisman Grandmaster would be able to feel the presence of the talisman.
The only person who was holding a talisman he could track and was in the Essence Ping World at the moment was Hai Yuanyuan.
As the thought flashed through his mind, a chaotic aura emerged from within the spatial tunnel.
When he turned to look back, he saw more than 10 streaks of light bursting out from within. All of them emitted chaotic auras, but they were all True Immortals. A few of them also expanded their domains as wide as possible, trying to look as intimidating as possible.
“This...”
Be it the experts from the Spirit Mammoth World or Shang Xia himself, they were all caught off guard by the sudden development.
The clone wasn’t too far from the heavenly screen at that point and with more than 10 True Immortals rushing out of the spatial tunnel at once, they quickly gathered around the clone.
To prevent being caught by surprise, the Spirit Mammoth World’s battle formation quickly reformed themselves. Yuan Chan and Shang Xia couldn’t care about the clone as well and they quickly backed off to deal with the incoming True Immortals.
The next second, a light flashed in the eyes of the clone who had almost escaped. He turned and sent a powerful punch at Yuan Chan.
Yuan Chan hadn’t expected such bad luck; even if he had been on guard, he couldn’t possibly withstand the assault of so many True Immortals suddenly, much less the full-powered strike of a Martial Emptiness Realm clone!
What do you think?
