Activating her superpower, Qiao Xuan realized she was seated in a simple intermediate sedan chair, swiftly carried by two sedan chairmen through the forest. Four individuals led the way and covered the rear, leaving her uncertain about their destination and temporarily unable to escape.

While she could control plants to attack, breaking free from the restraints on her body proved challenging. As they ascended the mountain, any attempt to use her powers to trip them risked her own fall.

Despite her predicament, Qiao Xuan found relief, contemplating where they might be taking her.

Her primary concern, however, was for Shao Yunduan.

Aware that her disappearance would undoubtedly cause anxiety for her husband, Qiao Xuan hoped he would quickly find composure.

...

Recognizing her own lapse in vigilance, she mused on her journey. Initially cautious, she unconsciously relaxed upon reaching the relay station, assuming safety. The past ten days had been uneventful, leading to a gradual relaxation of her guard.

Moreover, both she and Sun Bai believed that Shao Yunduan would be the target of their adversaries. After all, in everyone’s perception, she was closely associated with Shao Yunduan, making her a potential starting point for solving the perceived problem.

To her surprise, she became the target instead.

Qiao Xuan pondered the motives behind her abduction. Were they attempting to use her as leverage to coerce Shao Yunduan into submission? As a woman, could they genuinely believe that a man with a promising future would bow down to a woman?

Questions raced through her mind. Could they not handle the situation themselves? If not, why assume Shao Yunduan could achieve what they could not?

As the sedan chair continued its journey, she heard the words, “Here we are. This is it.”

Hearing voices, the sedan chair jolted to a rough stop. Sensing the commotion, Qiao Xuan shut her eyes, relaxed her body, and feigned unconsciousness.

Despite her closed eyelids, she sensed a sudden surge of brightness and felt someone

attempting to pull her out. Her eyelids twitched, and she cautiously opened her eyes, locking gazes with the man.

Startled by her apparent awakening, the man halted, his sneer revealing his disdain. “Madam Shao is awake!”

Qiao Xuan shot him a fierce glare.

The man’s sneer deepened. “Come on!”

Seizing her arm, he forcibly guided her to stand, prompting Qiao Xuan to rise unsteadily.

Her hands were bound behind her, but her feet remained unrestricted. Assessing the surroundings through her powers, she realized they were situated in a remote forest, far removed from the city.

They stood halfway up a concealed mountain, with a broad cave more than ten meters behind them. Was their intent to confine her within this cave?

Before she could process further, a push urged her towards the cave entrance. “Move!”

Complying, Qiao Xuan lowered her gaze and stepped obediently into the cavern.

The six men clad in green, supposedly guarding her, conversed among themselves with laughter, displaying an air of relaxation. They didn’t take Qiao Xuan seriously, viewing her merely as a feeble woman unlikely to risk fleeing into the woods. Guarding her seemed a trivial task in their eyes.

Regrettably, their time and energy invested in this desolate place were futile. The oppressive atmosphere suggested an impending sense of suffocation.

Once inside the cave, Qiao Xuan found a spot against the wall, quietly lowering her head.

Observing her subdued demeanor, one of the men glanced over and sneered, “You’re so quiet!”
