Chapter 341 The man
Silva followed the man to the door. The man opened the door for Silva, and Silva walked in. As soon as the man walked in behind and closed the door, bows, staves, and swords were all pointed at Silva.
Silva had to be honest; he wasn't expecting this at all. His foresight fell short in this regard. He looked at the people holding weapons at him. They didn't look like well-trained veterans, but they looked like they knew how to use a blade or a wand.
The man walked from behind Silva with slow, steady steps. He got in front of Silva, a sick smile on his face.
"You know, you are smart yet pretty dumb, Death Wish," the man said, walking close to Silva, but not close enough for Silva to make a quick move.
"You see, I'm guessing you are new in town because if you weren't, someone would have most definitely recruited you by now.
This is the empire, and more importantly, the capital of the empire, the place where power is all that matters, and the strong rule.
Your type of people are hunted like rare treasures by the empire, by the nobles, and by many other people, like crime lords—like myself.
You see, Ronan was my best, the work of my hands. He was a nobody, but I saw his potential, and I took him, raised him, and turned him into the beast he is today.@@novelbin@@
Sadly, that beast lost to a little man like you. When I left the pot, I was thinking, how do I get my hands on this Death Wish and make him mine? I knew I needed to move fast because many eyes were on you.
Who would have thought that you would throw yourself at my feet, ready to be taken away and used for my experiments? I'll make you a better weapon than Ronan, and you'll become much, much stronger.
That's what you want, right? You did mention that you could never be too strong," the man said.
At this point, Silva was already tired of the bullshit. He just needed to know if this man had ties to the demon blood.
"Before I say anything else, do you somehow use demon blood in the procedure of making your great soldiers?" Silva asked.
When the man heard the question, his eyes flickered. He tried to speak but stuttered.
"That's all the proof I need," Silva said. He took one long stride to grab the man, but arrows came flying down, and he leaped backwards to dodge them.
The man took that as his opportunity to run. He ran up the stairs of the manor while all his swordsmen leaped down, ready to take lives. They all charged at Silva, eager and ready to rip him into bits.
"I'm done with all of this," Silva said. He stomped on the ground, and the shockwaves sent all of them flying in all directions.
He tried to move and follow, but the mages started casting spells of different types to hit Silva.

"I'm tired of this," Silva said. He stood there and waved his hands, dissipating all the spells. Then he pointed his finger at the ceiling and shot a purple flame.
The flame hit the roof and spread in every direction as fast as possible. This intensely hot flame pulled the attention of the men. They forgot about Silva, and then tendrils shot out of the ground, grabbed all of them, and smashed them into the walls and ground.
He couldn't be bothered with lowlifes like this—not because he fought in the pot, but would all these insects feel they had a chance?
As he walked up the stairs, he used vibration sensing, trying to pick up the location of the man. Luckily, he found him. The man was seemingly inside the wall, using a secret passage to escape.
Silva immediately walked to a location on the wall where he predicted the man would pass through, and just as the man was about to walk past, Silva punched through the wall and grabbed the man. Then he pulled the man out of the wall.
The man had a face of shock. He looked at Silva, stunned even more. Silva grabbed the man by the collar and raised him up until his feet were no longer touching the ground.
"I need you to tell me everything you know about the demon blood. You evidently know something about it, so I need you to tell me," Silva demanded.
"There's nothing to tell you, and even if I knew, there's no way I'd tell you," the man said. Silva was getting impatient with the man. He placed his hands over the man's head, and very thin tendrils forced their way through the man's skin. He yelled out in pain as they entered.
What was even more painful was the coming-out process. The man screamed and yelled for his life, but Silva was going to break him until he was done.
"I'll tell you, I'll tell you everything I know," the man finally caved and decided to spill.
"When demon blood was still new and fresh, we were handed a lot of it. They asked us to use it for experiments and find out new and better ways to use the resources.
So I decided to use my own method. I found a way to carefully prepare something else. I was able to make them have a fragment of the full power while still keeping their humanity.
And it's only activated after they take the pill. The pill serves as the catalyst for the whole thing. That makes them really powerful.
Ronan was the most compatible with all activities, and I groomed him carefully, training him to be a killer. I didn't know that the demon blood was that powerful, and even with the heavily diluted blood mix, Ronan still became a beast in battle.
Well, it was fun until you came along and destroyed what we built."
What do you think?
