Chapter 400: Entering the world tree part 3

Now that Silva had convinced Amber that what they would be doing was going to be simple, she faced the demon and asked.

"So how do I do it? How do I transfer the world tree to you?" she asked.

"It is a really simple process. You have to awaken the spirit. When the spirit is awakened, you will be able to see the link, and you must sever that link," the demon said.

Silva looked at Amber, and she nodded in understanding.

"When did you know that you were connected with the tree?" Silva asked.

"For the longest time, but my father knew it was a risk to allow people to know I knew. Only when you knew about your connection could you use your power.

He didn't trust other races or even elves taking advantage of me. I guess it was all for nothing at the end, seeing I am here about to use it now for something that might destroy the world," she said.

"You are doing what you must. You are saving your own life because your life is what is important. So do what you must, Amber, and I'll be the shield that makes sure you get out of this safely," Silva promised.

Amber stretched out her hand and shut her eyes. She began awakening the spirit. Immediately she started, the energy levels inside started spiking, and Silva's skin started cracking at a very quick pace.

But he was not worried about himself. He was worried about Amber because she had started getting small little cracks on her body.

Silva didn't waste a second. Immediately he saw that, he transformed into his full dragon. He stretched out his wings and covered her as best as he could, blocking the destructive energy from getting to her.

There was nothing he could use at the moment to defend her or himself. The energy was neither physical nor Mana. It was something he had never needed to block, and so he didn't have anything to use.

As time passed, more and more divine energy was emitted, and he began cracking up even harder. When he saw that Amber was also still cracking, he channeled all his mana, focusing it around her to make her safe. He created a several-layer-thick cover around her body, and it seemed to work in slowing down the process.

Silva didn't know how long this was going to take and how long his body would last against the increasingly dangerous emissions of divine energy, but he didn't let up, pushing as best as he could to keep her safe.

Ten minutes passed, and twenty minutes passed. His body was now riddled with cracks like the wall of a very old house. His cracks had also started emitting light as the minutes went by.

The demon saw this and smiled. "We have only made it halfway, it seems. The spirit of the tree has only started forming her physical existence and the link to be severed, but it seems like you will die before that time.

That's killing two birds with one stone because I get to get rid of you in the process of taking the tree because you allowed love to drive you.

Let me tell you this now, since for certain you will be dead after this—I will rip the elf into bits and take her identity. She will forever be with me, and you could not be with her forever.

If you look at it properly, I am helping you. I am making sure that she is never alone like you are going to leave her to be right now," the demon said, his lips curved up into a wild smile. He looked delighted at the plan that he had just crafted.

Silva got enraged at what the demon said. He knew that the demon had calculated that he would die before the whole thing was over and that he would be free to do what he wanted. But Silva had never been a person who agreed with fate and plans that were made about him by someone else.

He was going to find a way to turn all of this around, or he would die trying. But what he knew was that he was not allowing Amber to die, no matter what happened here.

He began watching closely, a plan already in his mind, and immediately the spirit of the tree started forming, his plan locked into motion.

The spirit of the tree was a grand being. She stood several meters high, wearing a beautiful white gown that matched her white glowing hair, but her eyes were covered by a black scarf.

Her skin was white as paper, and her aura was extremely warming and comforting. But with her appearance, Silva started cracking faster. By the time this was over, he would shatter.

But that was when he made his move. His eyes targeted the link that was connecting Amber's heart and the spirit. He transformed human and flew at an unbelievable speed, faster than the demon could react.

He grabbed the link. The divine energy from it immediately filled his palm with webbing-like cracks all over. Amber opened her eyes and saw Silva. He was covered with cracks, about to shatter.

She saw the link in his hands, and immediately she felt fear and panic. She knew how Silva could be, and she knew that whatever he was doing now, he was not caring about his own safety.

Silva tore apart the link, disconnecting Amber from the tree. He grabbed her very quickly and threw her at the walls. She stretched out her hands, trying to hold onto Silva, but she couldn't. She passed through the wall and left the tree.

The demon was shocked as all this happened in an instant. He thought he had won, and because of that, he let down his guard. He never thought Silva would make such a last-minute risky move.

But Silva was not done. He took the link and placed it on his chest, connecting the link to his heart. This was almost certain death.
