Chapter 156 Bidding War (2)
The moment Ayla started to bid, everyone who weren't in the VIP or VVIP rooms stopped their bid as they didn't want to offend whoever inside them.
As the price rose, people who were inside the VIP and VVIP rooms scrambled to bid, none of them willing to show weakness since it had directly come to their time to bid because of Ayla's participation, which made people who were sitting on the auction hall's became silent when they heard Ayla's bid.
Because they thought that since someone from a VVIP room eagerly bid early, they must have set their eyes on it and declared that the item was theirs.
Let alone the fact that they heard it was a little girl's voice, making them think that it must have been the youngest princess from a really powerful force.
Therefore, even if they bid and won, they wouldn't dare snatch an item from her, as it would even upset the force behind her and might even lead to a disastrous event after the auction was over.
Inside VVIP Room 5, Ayla's gaze remained glued to the pink dress, her eyes aglow with excitement at the prospect of wearing it soon. Yet because Cain had advised her to hold off bidding until only a few people remained, she let out a small sigh, restraining herself from raising the price prematurely.
When the price had passed fifty thousand crystals, Elara asked as she knitted her eyebrows, "How did it go beyond fifty thousand so easily? Shouldn't that be close to its actual worth? But it seems that the price would only soar higher than ever instead of stopping."
One of the maids immediately explained with a smile, "One of the reasons they are competing over that artifact was due to Grandmaster Bai's reputation. If this artifact armor had been refined by an unknown person, it would be impossible for people to bid on it eagerly."
She then added, "Also, because the armor's size can be altered at will, wealthy young masters are keen to buy it as a lavish gift for someone they want to impress."
Cain nodded in understanding because fame had an effect on the item's price. Grandmaster Bai, they were talking about, was apparently one of the best and most famous artifact refiners, as he was actually from the outside world and had been in this world for only a few years.
However, because the artifacts he had refined were of the highest quality, he was quickly known as rumors were quickly spread. That's why people had already scrambled to get over it since people didn't need to question its quality when they heard that it was refined by Grandmaster Bai himself.@@novelbin@@
As the price of the artifact armor reached more than 190 thousand, the rate of bids slowed down as they thought that it wasn't worth the price and offended other people over this.
When the price had reached 250 thousand, there were only five parties that persisted: VVIP-2, VVIP-4, VVIP-8, VIP-3, and VIP-9.
"Everyone, please do my Thousand Blossoms Pavilion a small favor and let me claim this," a woman's voice requested from VVIP-8. "I'd like to give it to my younger sister."
"Since Fairy Mei has asked so politely, my Spirit Beast Mountain will step aside." A man's voice came out from the room VVIP-4.
"In that case, my Radiant Sun Palace will also withdraw." Another man's voice was coming from the room VIP-3.
"Thank you, I will definitely remember this." Fairy Mei's elegant voice came out, soothing the atmosphere.
Fairy Mei paused for a second, waiting for the other two bidders to react. After confirming that they wouldn't respond to her, she asked politely as she gritted her teeth in annoyance.
"And how about you, my friends in VVIP-2 and VIP-9? Would you kindly do me this favor as well? I promise I'll repay your courtesy after the auction."

"Why should I need to give you some face? Your so-called 'face' means nothing to me." Another girl's voice rang out, coming from the room VVIP-2.
However, unlike the other three who replied to her with words, someone from the room VIP-9 only snorted in response.
Before Fairy Mei could retort, Ayla raised a higher price after she looked at Cain with a begging cute expression as if she would be mad at him if he was still preventing her from bidding.
"260 thousand!"
Fairy Mei was surprised when she heard the little girl's voice again because after she counter-bid for the first time, she didn't continue to bid again, and she thought that she had given up.
"Little girl, why keep bidding? I thought you were out of crystals since you didn't follow up after your first offer." Fairy Mei chuckled as she clenched her fist, feeling a little annoyed because another person had joined to bid when she already got rid of the other two.
"Why? My big brother told me to not bid again until there are a few people left." Ayla answered, tilting her head to the left as she looked in the direction of the VVIP-8 room.
She then continued as she puffed her cheek, feeling a little bit angry when someone mocked her that she didn't have any money. "Besides, I don't have any money of my own, but my other big brother said he'd cover everything I bid on."
When everyone who attended the auction heard the little girl's answer, they instantly laughed as they hadn't expected to see someone as innocent as her in this auction.
"..."
Fairy Mei was speechless when she heard Ayla's answer, as she hadn't expected Ayla to answer her question literally as it was.
"Ayla, why don't you ask your two big brothers to give me some face and withdraw? I'll be sure to repay the kindness someday." Fairy Mei asked with a soft voice, trying to persuade her to not continue bidding.
Yet Ayla's innocent response only fanned the amusement in the hall, causing onlookers to burst into even louder laughter because nobody had anticipated such charming straightforwardness in the midst of a high-stakes bidding war.
What do you think?
