"How could that be possible?"
Whispers filled the room, and Gong-Nian's face grew increasingly unsightly, her hand clutching the wine glass trembling slightly.

"President Shen, are we heading back to the company now?" the driver asked.
Seated in the back, Shen Yanshi closed his eyes, pondering for a moment before responding, "To Zhou Mountain."
"Understood." The driver turned the steering wheel and drove off.
The Strategist's set hadn't expected Shen Yanshi to personally visit today. Upon hearing of his arrival, the producer Fang-Wei hurried out to greet him.
"President Shen, what brings you here today? You didn't even give us a heads-up, we weren't prepared."
Shen Yanshi glanced around the environment, "I'm just here to take a casual look."
Fang-Wei guessed that the big-shot investor wanted to make a surprise check to see if the production quality was up to par.
She perked up, "President Shen is welcome anytime. We're in the middle of shooting, would you like to come and watch?"
"Sure."
Fang-Wei led the way, explaining the setting as they walked.
The crew was currently shooting war scenes at the border, so the set was designed to look desolate.
"Today we're filming a major scene, and President Shen's timing couldn't be better. It's worth watching."
Fang-Wei brought Shen Yanshi to the director's tent, where Lee-Zheng was intently focused on the monitor, not even noticing Shen Yanshi's presence.
Shen Yanshi didn't interrupt; on the monitor, Xiang-Nuan was performing.
Clad in silver armor, her long hair tied into a high ponytail, her eyes sharp, she bore no trace of her usual softness, even her voice was strong and forceful.
"As a soldier accustomed to the battlefield, I don't understand the political games of the court. All I know is that the lives of tens of thousands in Cangzhou hinge on this battle. Your Highness, to casually suggest abandoning Cangzhou, where does that leave its people?!"
The noble prince argued, "But Cangzhou's army is already severely damaged. Continuing the fight is a dead end. The Emperor has decreed to abandon Cangzhou, why be so stubborn? Better to save the green hills than worry about no firewood..."
"If Cangzhou is abandoned, the people will die, what green hills will remain? I swear to defend Cangzhou to the death! I will not yield!"
"Xingwan, you're too obstinate. Why can't you be more obedient?"
"In a desolate place like Cangzhou, obedient generals don't win wars. The kind of general Your Highness wants, General Meng can't be, and Meng Xingwan, even less so."
Meng Xingwan mounted her horse and rode off into the distance.
The camera pulled back, following her departure.
Not until Lee-Zheng called out, "Cut!" did Xiang-Nuan pull the reins to stop, then turned her horse around and rode back.
Lee-Zheng looked up to see Shen Yanshi, quickly standing to shake hands, "President Shen, what brings you here? Please, have a seat! I just noticed."
Shen Yanshi kept his eyes on the monitor, "No trouble, I just came to look around, didn't want to disturb Director Lee."
"What are you saying? It's rare for President Shen to come by personally, it shows you care about us."
As Lee-Zheng and Shen Yanshi exchanged pleasantries, Shen Yanshi's gaze caught Xiang-Nuan dismounting not far away and walking over.
Xiang-Nuan, surprised to see Shen Yanshi, quickly regained her composure and greeted politely, "President Shen."
Lee-Zheng enthusiastically introduced, "Today's scene is a key moment in the drama, marking the first major disagreement between the leads and setting the stage for their eventual fallout. What do you think, President Shen?"@@novelbin@@
"With Director Lee at the helm, I'm naturally at ease."
Lee-Zheng patted Xiang-Nuan's shoulder with a smile, "Little-Xiang's performance was quite good too."
Shen Yanshi looked at Xiang-Nuan with a meaningful gaze, "Well played."
What do you think?
