Chapter 5 – Let's break up!
Shen Yanshi's brows furrowed slightly: "Understood."
The project manager who had just finished reporting was nervously looking at Shen Yanshi: "President Shen, what do you think of this proposal?"

"Redo it. If you dare to present such trash to me again, you'll no longer be in charge of this project."
Shen Yanshi stood up, buttoned his suit, and strode out of the conference room.
The project manager was sweating bullets, not daring to even breathe heavily, and quickly responded: "Yes."
Assistant Lin glanced at Shen Yanshi's expression and inwardly cursed their bad luck. President Shen had just finished dealing with those old fried dough sticks, and his mood was foul. Miss Xiang's arrival now was like walking into the line of fire.
Xiang-Nuan was sipping tea in the reception room, her eyes curiously surveying the decor that matched Shen Yanshi's frigid style—utterly minimalist in shades of gray and white, devoid of any warmth.
Shen Yanshi pushed the door open to find Xiang-Nuan idly poking at the leaves of a potted plant on the table.
"Why are you here?"
Xiang-Nuan pouted: "Can't I come?"@@novelbin@@
Shen Yanshi looked at her; she was dressed unusually today, her black waves just covering the thin strap on her shoulder, her face made up more heavily than usual, her red lips even more enticing than when he had kissed her that morning.
Xiang-Nuan pulled out her phone, thrust a photo in front of him, and demanded: "What is this?!"
Shen Yanshi's gaze was forced to move from her lips to the phone.
It was a photo of him and Gong-Nian leaving a hotel.
His eyes turned slightly cold: "Did you have someone take this?"
Xiang-Nuan stood up abruptly: "Are you with Gong-Nian now?"
"What are you talking about?"
"You didn't say a word to me about her returning to the country. Were you deliberately keeping it from me, or could you simply not be bothered to tell me?"
"Do you need to know? Do you know her?"
"Don't I know you? You're seen coming out of a hotel with another woman, and I can't even ask about it?"
Shen Yanshi's brows pressed down, his patience wearing thin: "Xiang-Nuan, stop making a scene."
Xiang-Nuan scoffed: "Right, I shouldn't make a scene. I should just be a fool, not caring or asking about anything. Or is it because Gong-Nian is back, you can't be bothered with me anymore? Now that the official one is here, what use do you have for me? Maybe we should just break up!"
Shen Yanshi's tone was stern: "Xiang-Nuan!"
Shen Yanshi never argued with anyone; he didn't need to. As the young master of Shen Group, he was coddled from a young age, a god among men, with countless people watching his mood to keep themselves in line.
When he was most angry, he would merely look at her coldly like this, warning her not to overstep.
The Xiang-Nuan of the past was more perceptive than anyone, always sensible enough to avoid any fault.
But today, she was clearly asking for trouble.
"Shen Yanshi, if you're going to dismiss me like this, then I don't care! Let's break up!"
Shen Yanshi looked at her, his dark eyes emitting strands of chill, captivating and intimidating.
Xiang-Nuan felt a bit intimidated; she was somewhat afraid of him too.
To be fair, Shen Yanshi had a handsome face, with delicate features, sword-like eyebrows and starry eyes, and a tall and straight figure that made him a walking clothes hanger. Even the most old-fashioned suits took on a unique charm when worn by him.
But such a man, decisive and ruthless, with no regard for kinship and deep in schemes—how else could he control the vast Shen Group at such a young age?
If it had been before, Xiang-Nuan would have already conceded, coyly hooking his finger, admitting her mistake and promising never to dare again.
But today, Xiang-Nuan, as if emboldened by a wild courage, stood her ground stubbornly, refusing to back down.
After a long standoff, Shen Yanshi finally spoke indifferently: "As you wish."
What do you think?
