Chapter 3377: The Resurrection Begins
Ever since the Heavens Sect had been reestablished, Lu Yin had tasked his people to collect humanoid sourceboxes. After all this time, all of the known humanoid sourceboxes had been gathered. The only ones that Lu Yin had not collected were the ones that Progenitor Hui had sealed away.
It was finally time for Wilderness God to be resurrected.
Before, Lu Yin had refrained from doing so out of fear that no one would be able to control the creature, but Lu Yin was already capable of overpowering Wilderness God on his own. That was not even taking into consideration those who had surpassed the Progenitor realm, such as Ancestor Lu Yuan, Wu Tian, Mister Mu, and the ancestor of the super giants. Wilderness God would not be able to cause any chaos on his own.
Lu Yin was even more interested in finding the God of Death’s body. If that man could also be revived, it would be perfect.
Nutjob Lu had claimed that, long ago, the God of Death had been so incredibly powerful that not even True God had been able to overpower him. The God of Death had been the first of the Three Realms and Six Daos to break through to the Origin realm, and the man had also possessed unmatched destructive power.
If the God of Death were still alive, he might even be as powerful as the Origin Progenitor himself.
For Lu Yin, the seals that Progenitor Hui had left behind were too weak, and they were easily broken.
He took away the entire collection of humanoid sourceboxes.
Behind him, Yao Di and Skymender exchanged glances.
Wilderness God would finally be resurrected.Wilderness God was the ruler of all astral beasts. Without him, even if Lu Yin did not oppress them, the astral beasts would still lack confidence when they compared themselves to humanity.
However, was this really the appropriate time to resurrect Wilderness God? What was the reason for doing so? When he was resurrected…
The two astral beasts looked at each other. They had deceived Lu Yin, so how were they supposed to explain themselves?
Lu Yin next led the two to the Cosmic Sea, and they entered the Soldier Crew’s territory.
The Soldier Crew had always been patrolling a section of the Cosmic Sea, as they protected one of the sourcebox arrays that Progenitor Hui had left behind.
The Soldier Crew had once been an army that followed Progenitor Hui.
"I know that you are guarding the sourcebox array that Progenitor Hui put in place. However, that is no longer necessary. What Progenitor Hui sought to protect, I, Lu Yin, will also protect. I kindly ask that you step aside." To Lu Yin, the Soldier Crew might as well have been made of ants, but he respected them the same way that he respected Progenitor Hui.
A colossal warship approached, accompanied by thunder as the sky grew dark and the sea was overshadowed.
8,000 soldiers held spears and faced Lu Yin directly.
The Supreme Spear - Deathseeker—this was the Soldier Crew’s technique.
There was a pair of sly eyes staring at Lu Yin from among the Soldier Crew. They were filled with desire, excitement, and a hint of nervousness.
The eyes belonged to Hua Wu, who possessed the Man of My Word secret technique. He had once joined the Soldier Crew in order to survive, but he had later been coerced by Lu Yin into betraying the Soldier Crew, as he had revealed that they were guarding a seal. ꭆάNỘ฿Èś
Out of respect for the Soldier Crew, Lu Yin had left Hua Wu with them. The man had tried to escape once after, but he had been caught by the Soldier Crew. He had remained on the warship ever since.
Much had happened in the outside world; the Fifth Mainland had joined the Sixverse Association, Aeternus had been defeated, and even the Spirit Nidus had invaded them. But within the Soldier Crew’s territory, things had remained peaceful.
Hua Wu had moved on from his initial fear and anxiety to a state of near-calm.
Upon seeing Lu Yin once again, Hua Wu’s thoughts were racing. He wanted to leave the warship and get as far away as possible.
Thunder crackled, and the sea grew darker as the Soldier Crew confronted Lu Yin.
He calmly stared back at them.
After a while, the warship moved aside, exposing the seal that was hidden beneath the sea.
Lu Yin looked down at it, calmly waved a hand to break the sourcebox array, and took away the numerous humanoid sourceboxes.
As for the Soldier Crew, he took a moment to stare at the warship. "Progenitor Hui died fighting for humanity. If you wish, you can go to the Tower of the Fifth and stand guard over it. That is also something that Progenitor Hui wanted to protect."
With that, Lu Yin turned to leave.
Hua Wu could no longer restrain himself. "Lord Lu! Lord Lu, wait a moment!"
Lu Yin turned back around and was amused to see Hua Wu. "You’re still here."
Hua Wu carefully avoided the nearby soldiers as he rushed over to Lu Yin, while shouting, "Lord Lu, please, take me with you! I can't handle it here anymore! Every day is hell!"
Lu Yin arched a brow. "When I first saw you here just now, you seemed quite at peace. Why the sudden urge to leave?"
Hua Wu wailed, "I’d just grown numb! Lord Lu, please take me away! I want to leave."
Lu Yin shook his head. "There’s no need."
Hua Wu crumpled, overcome with despair, as he believed that Lu Yin was leaving him with the Soldier Crew again.
"Is my beautiful life really over already? I still need to explore the universe… Right!" He quickly looked up at Lu Yin. "I want to fight for humanity! What has Aeternus been up to? I’ve heard that some group called the Sixverse Association has appeared. Lord Lu, I’m willing to fight to the death for humanity! I have the Man of My Word secret technique. Lord Lu, believe in me!"
Lu Yin pointed behind the man.
Hua Wu turned around to see that 8,000 soldiers had already returned below decks. They were all completely ignoring him.
He was stunned. "What does this mean?"
"You can stay or leave. Their mission is finished," Lu Yin said before disappearing.
Hua Wu turned around. There was more that he wanted to say to Lu Yin, but the man was already gone. Hua Wu’s mouth dropped open, as he looked around just to make sure that the soldiers were not going to capture him again. After that, he dove into the sea, overcome with so much excitement that he nearly howled with joy. He fled, moving as fast as he could. He did not want to see any of those soldiers ever again. The farther he fled, the better. He vowed to never return to the Cosmic Sea again, so long as he lived.
His hopeless days had finally ended.
I, Hua Wu, have escaped!
As for Lu Yin, he led Yao Di and Skymender to the Royal Frost Continent next.
As he looked at the familiar five interlocking rings of snowflakes, Lu Yin could not even remember the last time he had visited this place. It had been too long.
Lu Yin’s arrival saw the Frost Emperor quickly leading people of the Royal Frost Continent out to greet the Dao Monarch.
"Greetings, Lord Lu."
"Greetings, Lord Lu…"
Che Han was also present, and he was feeling emotional. He had been one of Lu Yin’s first followers, and he had helped the young man rise to power at the very beginning. This was still true even if Che Han’s initial goal had been to find outside support for his Royal Frost Continent.
Lu Yin’s gaze swept past the Frost Emperor, Che Han, and all the others present. He took a moment to observe the Frostgate Army.
The Royal Frost Continent’s Frostgate Army was a force of nearly a hundred cultivators that were, on average, Enlighters. When Lu Yin had first started forming the Heavens Corps, he had considered incorporating the Frostgate Army into the Heavens Corps, but he had decided against it. Without the Frostgate Army, the Royal Frost Continent most likely would not feel safe.
At the time, Lu Yin had also been concerned about someone breaking Progenitor Hui’s seal, so he had left the Frostgate Army here to protect it.
The army could no longer be seen as a significant force.
Forget Enlighters—even if the Frostgate Army consisted entirely of Envoys or even Semi-Progenitors, they still would not be strong enough to gain Lu Yin’s attention. He had mechas and the Tianyuan Army under his command now, and each member of either group had the destructive power of a Progenitor.
There was a time when Progenitors had been completely unseen, when the strongest beings in the Fifth Mainland had only been Semi-Progenitors. Even then, there had only been a few of them.
Currently, Progenitors and peak powerhouses were numerous, and it was all because Lu Yin had elevated the strength of the entire Tianyuan Megaverse.
“There’s nothing important. You can go back,” Lu Yin said.
The Frost Emperor offered a respectful agreement, but he did not move. He was waiting for Lu Yin to leave first.
Lu Yin said, “As of today, the Royal Frost Continent has officially completed their duty. You no longer have to bear that responsibility.”
The Frost Emperor, Che Han, and the others looked at Lu Yin in shock, not understanding what he meant.
“There seal was left here by Progenitor Hui. I am going to break it today. This means that you will no longer need to protect it.” With a wave of a hand, Lu Yin caused the entire Royal Frost Continent to tremble.
The Frost Emperor wanted to say something, but he did not know how to express his thoughts.
That seal had been the Royal Frost Continent’s mission from the moment it had been founded, but was there still a need for that mission in the current Fifth Mainland? Lu Yin had reached a completely different level from before.
This seal had once concerned Lu Yin, and he had been very careful about it and protected it. But that was no longer necessary.
The Frost Emperor’s expression grew conflicted. Without their mission, he could not be sure what the future held for his Royal Frost Continent.
They had been given the mission to guard the seal, which had trapped them to the continent, but their mission had also given them a reason to exist. They were now freed from both responsibility and purpose.@@novelbin@@
Progenitor Hui had left three seals in the Fifth Mainland, all of which Lu Yin had just broken and gathered the humanoid sourceboxes from within.
He took all of the humanoid sourceboxes, along with Yao Di and Skymender, to the Astral Beast Domain. Lu Yin intended to resurrect Wilderness God there.
In addition to the two astral beasts, Wu Tian, Lu Yuan, Hongyan Mavis, and Garan Zhiluo were also present, but they remained hidden in the shadows.
Resurrecting Wilderness God would be a major event, and it also concerned his fellow disciples.
The biggest difference between the Astral Beast Domain and the Human Domain was the wild atmosphere. When the Sixth Mainland had invaded the Astral Beast Domain, aside from a few natural resources and minerals, they had found nothing significant. The Astral Beast Domain was far behind the Human Domain in terms of development, but that was simply the nature of the astral beasts.
Skymender and others had hidden the truth about Wilderness God’s resurrection. They had told a story about how some people, fearing death, had used Stone Origin to seal themselves in sourceboxes, which could only be undone with the Stone Reversal Formation. Additionally, the Stone Reversal Formation would not only unlock the sourceboxes, but it would also grant control of those who had been sealed.
When Lu Yin had first heard this story, he had believed it, as Skymender had been quite convincing. However, later on, Ghost Monkey had obtained some of Progenitor Wushang’s memories, and those had disproved Skymender’s story and revealed the truth to Lu Yin.
Wilderness God had infused his Wilderness Scriptures into Stone Origin. Thus, the things sealed inside were not actually humans at all, but rather astral beasts that had taken on humanoid forms. Each of the astral beasts carried a part of Wilderness God’s divided body, and once they were all unsealed, Wilderness God would be resurrected.
When he saw the numerous humanoid sourceboxes that had been gathered arrayed before him, Skymender’s heart sank.
If this had happened decades before, it would have been everything that he had ever dreamed of.
Lu Yin had already set up the Stone Reversal Formation, so all that remained was for him to unlock the humanoid sourceboxes.
What was the point of him doing so at this point in time?
What would happen once Wilderness God returned? Given the current strength of the Heavens Sect, not to mention a single Wilderness God, even if two or three of him appeared, they would still all be suppressed.
More importantly, once Wilderness God appeared, Skymender’s deceit would be exposed to Lu Yin.
At this thought, Skymender instinctively glanced at Yao Di.
Yao Di was equally uneasy, and he was even filled with dread. Both astral beasts had felt a mounting fear as they followed Lu Yin around.
As for Lu Yin himself, he appeared perfectly calm. “Let’s begin the lockbreaking. I need more experts to reinforce the Tianyuan Army.”
Skymender closed his eyes. He faced Lu Yin and slowly knelt down.
Seeing this, Yao Di quickly dropped to his knees as well, and he did not dare to look up.
Lu Yin clasped his hands behind his back, and asked, “What are you doing?”
Skymender’s voice sounded mournful. “Dao Monarch, we’ve deceived you.”
Lu Yin remained silent and just stared at the astral beast.
“While the humanoid sourceboxes, Stone Origin, and the Stone Reversal Formation are all real, those who are unsealed won’t be people who cultivated Stone Origin in order to survive, but rather astral beasts. They are… pieces of Wilderness God,” Skymender explained.
A smile crept across Lu Yin’s lips. “Why didn’t you tell me this sooner?”
Yao Di was startled, as he realized that Lu Yin had known all along.
On the other hand, Skymender was not surprised. What could be kept hidden from Lu Yin in the current universe? His cultivation was unmatched, and his strength was without equal. It was no exaggeration to claim that he knew about everything.
“Please punish us, Dao Monarch,” Skymender asked, going straight to asking for mercy.
Yao Di hurriedly echoed Skymender, “Please punish us, Dao Monarch.”
“Let’s begin. Resurrecting Wilderness God? That’s not a bad idea,” Lu Yin calmly stated.
