Chapter 1136: Suppressing Snow Corpse
Chapter 1136: Suppressing Snow Corpse
“Careful, brother. If he dies, we’ll lose our only guide!”
Yi Pin rushed over after the dust had settled.
“I know what I’m doing.” Ye Qing descended from the sky and stared at Old Man of Snowy Mountain.
“I don’t know, man. Guy doesn’t even look human anymore!”
Yi Pin rolled his eyes after examining Old Man of Snowy Mountain and found that every muscle, bone, and meridian inside his body was broken. The fact that he was still breathing was a miracle on its own. There was no way Old Man of Snowy Mountain could answer their questions right now.
“Relax. Just leave it to me.”
Ye Qing’s eyes slowly turned dark as he tapped a finger against Old Man of Snowy Mountain’s forehead. A demonic lotus began sinking into the Great Trueman’s mind.
Seemingly sensing danger, Old Man of Snowy Mountain suddenly started struggling with all his might.
Unfortunately for him, he was currently unconscious and mentally injured. He was simply incapable of stopping Ye Qing in his current state.
A moment later, the demonic lotus entered Old Man of Snowy Mountain’s mind completely and transformed into a mark. After implanting the demonic lotus and converting Old Man of Snowy Mountain into his Heavenly Demon Dependent, Ye Qing lightly slapped him on his skull and injected a wisp of Profound Yellow Mother Qi into his body.
Old Man of Snowy Mountain’s broken body immediately began mending at a rapid pace. It wasn’t long before he was back to normal.
“What are you doing, brother?”
Yi Pin had never witnessed his Paranirmita Boundless Heavenly Demon Dependent before. From his perspective, there was a moment where Ye Qing suddenly felt like the embodiment of evil himself. After the spine-chilling feeling faded, he began treating the Great Trueman’s wounds.
It was confusing. Why did he treat the Great Trueman’s wounds after beating him up within an inch of his life? Was this a game to him?
“Oh, he’s waking up. He’s coming out!”
As soon as Yi Pin said this, Old Man of Snowy Mountain opened his eyes and leaped out of the ground.
Yi Pin did not hesitate. He hid behind Ye Qing in one swift motion.
“Where is your shame, brother?”
Ye Qing rolled his eyes. The old Taoist’s movement was so practiced that he could not even find the words to chide him.
“Young master.”
Yi Pin was still watching Old Man of Snowy Mountain intently and fearfully as the Great Trueman saluted Ye Qing.
“Mm.” Ye Qing went straight to the point. “Where are we?”
“We’re at the Raya Mountain Range, young master,” Old Man of Snowy Mountain answered.
“Raya Mountain Range?” Ye Qing lifted an eyebrow. “You mean the Raya Mountain Range between Wei and the western countries?”
“That is exactly correct, young master.” Old Man of Snowy Mountain confirmed.
“How did we get all the way here?”
Ye Qing frowned deeply. The Raya Mountain Range was located at the westmost region of Wei. Running east to west over thousands and thousands of kilometers, the Raya Mountain Range kept Wei and the western countries apart from each other.
The Raya Mountain Range’s weather and environment were utterly horrendous. Not only was it snowy, windy and frigidly cold all year long, it was the domain of all kinds of Strangers. Exceedingly dangerous, the Raya Mountain Range was almost a lifeless wasteland.
Ye Qing never imagined that Xuanyuan Kun’s self-destruction would blow them all the way to the Raya Mountain Range. In a sense, they were one walk away from the western countries.
“How far will it take to get to the closest city of Wei from here?” Ye Qing asked.
“Half a month at least, young master,” Old Man of Snowy Mountain answered.
“Half a month…” Ye Qing nodded but did not say if he approved of the estimate or not.
Ye Qing would continue to shoot more questions at Old Man of Snowy Mountain, and the Great Trueman would answer them all respectfully and humbly.
The atmosphere was excellent, but there was one man who was completely confused by this state of things. He was Yi Pin, of course. Right now, his eyes were bulging with shock and disbelief. If he wasn’t a witness, he would never imagine that the duo were beating the shit out of each other—well, one of them was beating the shit out of the other person—just a moment ago.
What the hell is going on here?
That said, Yi Pin was a worldly, knowledgeable man. It didn’t take him long to figure out what had happened. However, the realization only increased his astonishment.
What kind of Magia or secret art did it take to distort a Great Trueman’s mind and consciousness in an instant? To make him acknowledge another person as his lord and master just like that?
Yi Pin could tell that there was no resentment, anger, hatred, or any other negative emotion on Old Man of Snowy Mountain’s face whatsoever. Looking at him, you would think that he had been acting as Ye Qing’s servant since ages ago. As if that wasn’t enough, Old Man of Snowy Mountain’s sentience wasn’t damaged in any way. This was a hundred, no, a thousand times harder than just wiping away his consciousness.
He had never heard or seen such a terrifying and anomalous art until now.
It was at this moment Old Man of Snowy Mountain said, “Oh right, there is something I need to report to you, young master.”
“What is it?” Ye Qing asked.
“I’m not the only one who was searching for you. A Stranger is coveting your treasure as well.”
Old Man of Snowy Mountain answered, “I found you first, but she is no weakling. I am sure she is not far behind.”
“A Stranger?” Ye Qing asked with great interest. “Tell me.”
“The Stranger calls herself Snow Corpse. She is a corpse who has transformed into a Stranger. She can control the wind, the snow, and dead bodies. In a head-on fight, she is probably stronger than me. You need to be careful.”
“What are we waiting for? Let’s run away already!” Yi Pin hurriedly said after hearing this.
“It’s too late. She’s already here.”
Ye Qing abruptly swung his sleeve at a boulder about thirty meters away from him, shattering it and revealing a humanoid figure.
The humanoid figure had bluish black skin and a stiff body. It was obviously a corpse. However, the corpse was also staring straight at them like it was alive.
As if on cue, countless figures passed through the veil of wind and snow and stepped into view.
The figures moved slowly and stiffly. At first glance, their numbers were innumerable.
“It’s Snow Corpse’s corpses.”
Old Man of Snowy Mountain frowned deeply when he saw this. “You should leave, young master. I’ll hold them back.”
Old Man of Snowy Mountain charged toward the corpses. The wind and snow transformed into all sorts of strange beasts and accompanied him as he charged. He looked like a living avalanche.
Countless corpses were engulfed by the snow storm. The strange beasts devoured even more of them.
However, the corpses truly felt endless. There were more no matter how many Old Man of Snowy Mountain killed.
“Just how many people had died here?” Yi Pin frowned when he noticed that the sea of corpses seemed unending.
The corpses weren’t powerful, but they more than made up for their disadvantage with sheer numbers.
“Who knows?” Ye Qing replied indifferently.
Suddenly, he grabbed Yi Pin and pulled him to his side. At the same time, he stomped the ground.
Boom!
The ground within tens of meters of Ye Qing abruptly collapsed. The next moment, a humanoid figure leaped into the air. It was Snow Corpse.
The moment Snow Corpse leaped out, the snow storm howled and attacked him like it was a living entity.
Ye Qing was ready though. He threw a punch long before the storm could get close, repelling it.
Then, Ye Qing appeared in front of Snow Corpse and threw another punch.
Surprisingly, Snow Corpse did not attempt to dodge the attack. Instead, she opened her mouth and spat out a mouthful of murky breath.
The murky breath was smelly, disgusting, and absolutely filthy. It might look like a puff of breath, but it polluted anything and everything within three hundred meters of Snow Corpse in an instant. The wind and snow smelled like it was decaying, and the rocks and mountains looked dark and dim.
Not only that, the puff of breath was infused with what felt like the epitome of coldness and death.
If Ye Qing was just an ordinary Trueman or Grandmaster, even making contact with this murky breath would melt him like the deadliest acid and pollute his mind.
Ye Qing was protected by the Profound Yellow Mother Qi though, so he did not fear it in the slightest. His punch continued forward and struck Snow Corpse squarely in the forehead.
THUMP!
It sounded like a hammer hitting a gong. Snow Corpse reverberated from head to toe.
The next moment, her body began cracking like it was made of ice or crystal.
What do you think?
