STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer

Chapter 219 219: Looking for a new shelter

The following day,

Jeremy Night left the university early in the morning. He didn't want to come across his seniors. After getting to the street, he booked the flying taxi. Then it didn't take long for him to reach the City Gate.

About 20 minutes later, he walked out of the city and entered the wilderness. At this time, he was familiar with the outer area of the wilderness. Basically, he was not afraid. So, he quickly disappeared into the woods.

Meanwhile,

Goldcorp Rick's assistant Javier was not done with the investigation. Basically, he had his men stationed near the City Gate. Coincidentally, they spotted the target, Jeremy Night, who was well and alive.

When the target went inside the wilderness, they quickly informed Javier, their boss. Old man Javier was not happy to hear the news.

Last time, his man died unjustly inside the wilderness. This time the security firm had many tasks to complete. He can't ask the high-tier beast tamers to change their tasks.

He then ordered his men to stay there. He would soon find any opportunity to eliminate that kid. Then only could he justify the loss of his men.

Old man Javier forgot about his master Rick's loss. He started to think of that kid, Jeremy Night, as his enemy. He wanted to keep his reputation; otherwise, his men would look down upon him.

Meanwhile,

Jeremy didn't even know that the men in black had yet to give up their revenge. His attention was all on dealing with the powerful black lake corrupted beasts.

Time passed.

Jeremy eventually arrived at his destination, which was the entrance to the Dangerous Forbidden Area. He held his katana tightly.

Last time, he was forced to flee in fear. He didn't know whether the rundown shed was still fine. Since it was daytime, he thought the chances of the black beasts' presence were low.

Swoosh!

He then started moving towards the shed. On the way, he came across low-tier beasts. But he ignored them. He soon reached the old shed.

But the place had changed compared to before. The roof had collapsed completely. Seeing that, his expression sank. His doubts increased.

He then rushed out towards the place. Then he saw the center of the shed had collapsed. It was the place where he used to arrange a tent. Now it was completely destroyed.

He could already guess the answer. The remaining poison bombs had all triggered, causing the old dilapidated shed to collapse.

Jeremy had to find a new location. Since the place had been a chemical plant before the mutation era, he thought there would be similar building structures around here.

Swoosh!

He then began looking for a new place. Not long after, he was hindered by a hound beast.

Pfff!

But his katana's slashes cut down the beasts one after another. He then resumed his search.

As time passed, he continued to look for a new area. But he didn't forget to pay attention to the unknown egg.

The unknown egg had started absorbing the pure natural energy here. It would be a matter of time before he achieved the next rank breakthrough.

...

Central University 14:

The senior students were looking for Jeremy Night again. Timothy and Billy had created a scene yesterday. Not only did they escape unharmed, but they also didn't give up their plan.

Before coming up with the next plan, they thought of finding Jeremy Night's whereabouts. But their first-year juniors failed to find Jeremy Night.

Some of them even went to the Department Building. But Daniel Stone and Betsy Lowe were not there. After some time, the senior students came to the conclusion that Jeremy Night might have gone to the wilderness again.

Among the first years, Jeremy Night was the one who visited the wilderness very often. It surprised the senior students because they knew Jeremy Night was a Tier-1 Beast Tamer.

The Tier-1 Beast Tamers are weak. If they come across any Tier-4 or 5 Corrupted Beasts, their end would be death. So they were taken aback by Jeremy Night's survival skills.

Almost everyone assumed Jeremy Night was training in the outer part of the wilderness near the City Gate. But if they knew Jeremy Night had been training inside the Forbidden Area, they would be shocked to the core.

The environment there is many times better than City A.

Meanwhile,

Dean Carolyn was wondering about Jeremy Night's whereabouts as well. She thought Jeremy Night would ask for justice. But there was no news from him.

She then spent a few minutes trying to find out the truth.

"That kid has gone to the wilderness again," Carolyn frowned.

She knew about his recent activities. Jeremy Night had been keeping a schedule of visiting the wilderness twice a week. Sometimes, he didn't even do missions. He went there for practice.

She couldn't help but wonder whether there was any kind of pressure on him. Suddenly, she thought of something.

"Is he working hard to leave the City?" she asked herself.

She then shook her head before collecting her thoughts. She wanted Jeremy Night to be safe from the senior students' schemes.

She was relieved that he was not there. The wilderness seemed to be a safer place for Jeremy Night than the university.

On the other hand, Department Instructor Jacob Henry learned the truth. He didn't expect the senior students to be this cunning and hateful.

Earlier, he used to warn Jeremy Night not to visit the wilderness. Now he thought Jeremy Night would increase his visits in the future.

When it came to Daniel Stone and Betsy Lowe, they didn't have any clue at all. They were busy with their own practice. They didn't know about the schemes of the senior students.

So far, the senior students' focus was on Jeremy Night. They forgot about Daniel Stone and Betsy Lowe. Instructor Jacob thought it was necessary to warn them about the future threats.

If the senior students decided to go against Daniel Stone and Betsy Lowe, it could be dangerous. They didn't have the strength of Jeremy Night. They would easily fall into the traps set by others.

..

Forbidden Area:

After a few hours, Jeremy found another man-made structure. From the building's architecture, he thought it might have been an office building.

But the building structure was in a ruined state. Jeremy took time to check whether the place was suitable for a stay.

A few minutes later,

Surprisingly, he found a complete room inside the building that was undamaged. He knew that the old structure wouldn't withstand any disturbance.

But it was not a problem for him. All he needed was a place to practice. He then entered the room. After investigating the place, he started to set up the poison bomb traps outside the building.

Then he installed some gadgets to alert him during the nighttime. Once everything was arranged, he took out the beast repellent odor and started to use it as well.

After a few minutes, he returned to the room and sat cross-legged on the ground. He closed his eyes and started to practice the Inner Healing method.

The pure natural energy in the surroundings began entering his body. At the same time, his unknown egg lifeline beast was absorbing the pure natural energy like breathing.

Time passed.

He didn't know when he felt the changes taking place inside the mental zone. Inside the mental zone, there was a new change in concentric circles marked in the black door.

The mid-stage sub-blocks of the Rank 6 circle were getting filled. In the blink of an eye, the light stabilized. Jeremy checked the concentric circles before verifying that he had reached Tier-1, Rank-6 Mid-Stage.

Jeremy's mouth curved into an arc. He thought that on this trip he might reach Rank-7. So, he shifted his attention back to the practice.

Time passed in the blink of an eye.

Night came. Eventually, the corrupted beasts that roamed at night appeared outside. They started their nocturnal activities.

Not long after, several black-bound corrupted beasts appeared near the vicinity of the old office building. But the beast odor repellent prevented them from exploring.

As time passed, more and more beasts appeared in the vicinity, attracted by the gathering of pure natural energy.

Jeremy and the unknown lifeline egg beast had attracted unwanted attention. Previously, it had been a huge rundown shed. That place hadn't attracted the attention of the beasts quickly.

But here, the office building was small. Only one room was intact compared to the other rooms that were literally open. If any beast successfully entered the vicinity, it could see Jeremy clearly.

Click-clack!

A black centipede over 20 feet in length approached the building. Upon sensing the aura of Tier-3, the other lower-tier beasts fled the area.

The centipede aimlessly reached the building and tried to find a way in. The gadgets immediately alerted Jeremy with a buzzing alarm.

Swoosh!

Jeremy opened his eyes and took his katana out. He could see a terrifying beast lurking outside the room.

He started moving forward to look at the beast. Then he saw the beast's appearance. It was a Tier-3 Black Centipede.
