Chapter 224: 10,000 Profit
Store:
Jeremy walked into the store. He saw that it was filled with people. He could see Beast Tamers buying items. While he was standing there, he noticed one of the staff looking at him.
Jeremy decided to talk to him. He then reached the desk and told the staff about the Tier-4 Black Centipede Corpse.
"Tier-4 corpse," the staff exclaimed in surprise.
Already, there was quite a noise inside the store, so no one heard the staff's exclamation.
"Guest, are you serious?" the staff asked.
"Can you take me to the private room?" Jeremy asked.
"Yes, follow me," the male staff member said.
Jeremy followed him from behind. Then he entered the private room behind the wall. The room was spacious. Jeremy looked around before taking the container out.
He saw that the staff member was a Tier-2 Beast Tamer, so he was not afraid of him cheating.
"Can you check it?" Jeremy asked.
The staff nodded before opening the container. Then he saw a Tier-4 aura coming from the organs. His eyes gleamed with excitement.
Then he thought of something before asking, "What about the outer shell?"
"The outer shell of the corpse was hard to break. I only brought a few of them with me," Jeremy replied.
The staff frowned. His earlier excitement was gone. He had thought it was a complete corpse, but now that he saw these were Tier-4 organs, he realized that the organs were poisoned as well.
Apart from the poisonous lifeline beasts, these organs were of no use to anyone.
"Alright, I'll inform the manager. You wait for me here." After saying that, the staff left.
Jeremy sighed in relief. He understood from the staff's reaction that he had wasted the Tier-4 Corpse.
The blood and the outer shell were the most important parts of the higher-tier beasts.
The organs would come next, but he had wasted those as well. Jeremy then began to wait for the manager.
Shortly afterward,
An old man wearing a black suit entered the room. His gaze fell on the customer's Central University uniform, and he eased his eyebrows.
"Guest, I heard you have the organs of the Tier-4 Beast," the manager said.
"Yes, they're here. You can check them," Jeremy said.
He saw that the staff was standing behind the manager.
The old man sat opposite him before opening the container. The next second, he saw the organs filled with a purple hue. He immediately spotted the poison.
He then weighed the value of the poisoned organs before saying, "They're poisoned. We can only give you about 10,000 points."
Hearing that, Jeremy frowned. He felt the price was a bit low, because the Black Centipede was a beast from the Forbidden Area. The beast was different from other beasts.
But he really couldn't share the details.
"What do you think, young man?" the manager asked.
Jeremy decided to agree.
"Okay. I accept the deal," Jeremy replied.
The staff came forward to take the container. The manager then asked for his account before transferring 10,000 points to him.
Buzz!
Jeremy received the amount in his account. After checking the account balance, he nodded to them before leaving.
When he appeared outside, he found that two policemen were waiting. Jeremy's expression turned dark. He didn't know how they found his location.
The policemen were none other than Captain Nathan's colleagues.
Before he could speak, one of them said, "It was a coincidence that we saw you entering earlier."
A look of understanding dawned on Jeremy's face.
"It's okay. How can I help you?" Jeremy asked.
"Our team is investigating the crime. But can you describe the face of the attacker?" the policeman asked.
"He is a middle-aged man. But I couldn't get a good look at him at that time. He escaped," Jeremy replied.
The two policemen looked at each other.
"Is there any update?" Jeremy asked.
"No, we have just started the investigation," the policeman said.
"Okay, if there is anything else, we will contact you." After saying that, the policemen left the place.
Jeremy watched them leave before booking an aircab. Soon, the next cab arrived.
He entered before telling the driver to take him to the university.
Swoosh!
The cab rose from the ground and started to fly towards the university.
Jeremy couldn't help but think about Goldcorp. He didn't know whether the City Police could find any details.
About 10 minutes later,
The cab dropped him in front of the university. Jeremy paid the fare before turning around to enter. His watch buzzed with sound the next second.
He saw his father was calling him. Jeremy's eyes flickered. He immediately thought about the case.
"Don't tell me," Jeremy muttered.
He really didn't want to make his parents worried. That's why he hadn't told them anything. With doubt, he answered the call.
"Son, are you alright?"
"I received a call from the City Police," his father's voice sounded.
Jeremy's mouth twitched. His father's identity made the police nervous. He then brushed off the thoughts before replying, "I'm okay, Father."
"It must be some misunderstanding. I haven't offended anyone," Jeremy replied.
"Don't worry, I got the case details. I'll hire some private detectives to investigate as well. You just focus on your training," his father said.
Then they spoke for a few minutes before his father ended the call. He then raised his head and started walking towards the gate.
Creak!
The door opened.
He walked into the place. The next second, he was stunned.
He saw a group of people standing before him. Jeremy's eyes flickered. He recognized two of them among those people.
They were the senior students. Jeremy smelled trouble.
He decided to ignore them and walk away from the place.
Swoosh!
The senior students once again blocked his path.
"Wait!"
"Where are you going?" Billy said in a sarcastic tone.
Jeremy's eyes flashed with anger. How could he forget this disgusting person?
He was sure that they must have come up with some plans.
The other senior students were smiling.
"Jeremy Night, we heard a lot about you. Why don't you accompany us on a mission?" Billy asked.
"I'm busy. You seniors are stronger than me. I can't compete with you." After saying that, Jeremy walked past him.
What do you think?
