Struggling as a Villain

Chapter 285- The Crimson Witch(2)

The Crimson Witch. The woman who eradicated Vornyx's army on her own and got the blessing of a Demon General.

The being who was supposed to be an asset of the Light was standing on the other side.

Eleanor narrowed her eyes. If talking about experience, Rose would be far outweighed by Bellarine. However, considering what skills Rose carries, it would be a tough battle.

Junisha's eyes held complicated emotions seeing her daughter on the battlefield, siding with the Darkness for the love of her son.

She is the only woman in the history of the Scarlette clan who survived birthing a burning child—the descendant of the Flame Warden.

Junisha tried to protect her child from bearing the responsibility since she knew that the path the clan had chosen for Bellarine would only cause pain and suffering.

And Junisha wasn't wrong. Her daughter, despite having survived childbirth, was standing on the side which was destined to suffer and get eradicated at the end.

There was no running away or changing the fate.

'But still...I hope you survive Bella...'

Back on the battlefield, Rose held evident anger in her eyes as she supported Ruby with her magic and healed her wound by supplying a heavy amount of divine essence.

Divine essence was fighting the Aembr which the demoness injected inside her. And the healing spell was stitching the wound to stop the bleeding.

Although Rose was given the job of staying by Ethan's side, the moment she realized that Ruby had joined the battle, she removed herself from her post because of the fear she held. And as Rose thought, these damn Ambrobates are savage creatures.

A burden to this world that needs to vanish.

The burst of magic from both females has already declared how dangerous it could be for a third person to step into this battle.

That's why the soldiers on both ends have already stepped back and watched the spectacle from afar.

Bellarine eyes narrowed at the girl who had once betrayed and hurt her son in the past.

One of the two reasons she came to the front lines was because of that. The other is Rose's capability.

Although an opponent, Bellarine could see the overwhelming aura the girl carried, and coupled with her bloodline, Bellarine knew that this opponent could not be underestimated.

"Scarlette Bellarine, I request you to back away now and let me hunt that Demoness. Once I do that, I will go away." Rose voiced, her tone carrying truth and chillness one couldn't have expected from the girl a few weeks ago.

Bellarine crossed her arms as she said, "Sweetie, this is a war. You don't get to choose your opponent—" Before Bellarine could have finished speaking, an avalanche of ice spikes advanced toward her.

The redhead sighed and had enough time to dodge, but she rather chose to counterattack.

*BOOOOOOM*

An explosion shook the surface, and even the fortress occurred—destroying the spikes like glasses being hit by stones.

Flames and ice clashed as the explosion's force sent a gust of heat and frost through the battlefield. Bellarine stood firm, her red hair flowing like a banner in the wind, while Rose remained unfazed, her icy blue eyes locked onto her opponent.

With a flick of her wrist, Rose conjured a swirling storm of water, twisting like a serpent before lashing out at Bellarine.

But Bellarine, experienced and unfazed, merely raised a hand. A torrent of fire erupted from her palm, colliding with the water in midair. Steam hissed violently, clouding the space between them.

Rose didn't wait. She stomped the ground, sending jagged pillars of rock bursting upward, aiming to trap Bellarine. Yet, the flame mage was quicker. With a snap of her fingers, fiery runes ignited around her, and the stone crumbled under the sheer heat.

"Tsk." Rose clicked her tongue, stepping back as she raised both hands. Lightning crackled around her, then shot forward in blinding streaks. Bellarine twisted her body, barely avoiding the first bolt before thrusting her hand forward.

A massive wave of fire surged from her fingertips, swallowing the remaining lightning and crashing toward Rose.

Rose was taken aback by the failure of that magic, and more so when Bellarine's figure disappeared from behind the flames.

'No!' Rose panicked as she found Aembr swirling over her head, before she conjured a barrier, barely in time.

*SCHFOOOOOOOOM*

A torrent of flame that created a funnel down the sky was directed at Rose.

The heat from the attack made the nearby soldiers jump away or shield themselves, under the threat of getting burned.

Rose, on the other hand, was barely suppressing the flames with her barrier, which she chanted without much thought. And since the barrier wasn't heat resistant, the skin on her arms was getting burned.

In frustration, she launched a counterattack.

**HISSSSS**

An orb of water surrounded the girl, and she successfully fought against the flames.

Bellarine frowned as she realized that the girl was getting used to the heat.

Rose gritted her teeth as she raised her eyes and launched an attack,

'Sonic Vortex!' A funnel of ultrasonic waves advanced toward Bellarine at a blinding pace—

"Agh!"

Bellarine had to cover her ears, her body failing to continue the attack as she slowly landed back to the ground while surrounded by the annoying sound waves continuously.

Rose had a smile of triumph on her face as she removed the water orb and continued to enhance the sound waves.

"Ahh!" An audible scream left Bellarine's throat as her ears began bleeding.

Rose gritted her teeth as she glanced at Richard, expecting him to interfere—however, all she saw was indifference from his stance as he continued to watch the battle with his hands crossed.

'Does he not care about his mother...then so be it!' Rose has already formed the resolve to not hold back in this war. That's why she turned toward Bellarine, ready to deliver the final strike—when suddenly,

*Ting*

A similar resonation occurred, which previously broke Ruby's spell.

However, this time, Rose was prepared. She had already formed a barrier around Bellarine, so if Richard tried to spell dismantling, she could have countered it.

But the barrier was still intact yet the vortex was destroyed.

But how...

"You are an idiot, Rose...to think you forgot who taught me spell dismantling." Hearing Richard's mocking voice, a chill ran down Rose's spine.

Very slowly and stiffly, she turned to look at the spot where her opponent was...only for her face to turn pale in horror.

The Crimson Witch was angry
