Chapter 655 Visits
Nathan's first destination after the meeting was Elder Thompson. He had consulted him regarding the idea of Multiflux Control with the weapon assisting him in the control.
The moment he arrived, he didn't expect that he would be greeted with an answer. "It's impossible."
"Huh?" Nathan raised his eyebrows. "It's impossible?"
"Sorry. I should word it better. I have tried multiple ways, but it's basically impossible to have all four basic controls embedded on a single gun.
"At the very least, I can't see any way to proceed forward with our current understanding and technology."
"!!!" Nathan squinted his eyes. "All four, you say?"
"Yes. Fortunately, we have a way to compensate for the two basic controls. They are Concentration and Speed.
"As you probably already know, Form requires firm control over your ena so that you can shape it. Enhancement is more like maintaining your ena.
"It's going to be impossible to do it with the current technology. However, Speed and Concentration are possible to recreate with one method. By controlling the flow of ena, you can make a similar thing to Speed and Concentration.
"In theory, I can simply modify the barrel and how the gun drains your ena. By speeding it up, I can imitate Speed. By changing the flow or more like, creating a small chamber to gather the ena inside the pistol, I can imitate the Concentration.
"More than that is impossible…unfortunately." Elder Thompson sighed.
"I see." Nathan looked down, falling into deep thought. Having two of them alone was quite amazing. He rarely used Form and Enhancement anyway, so he wasn't really rushing in using them.
Nathan asked, "How long do you need to create that gun?"
"It doesn't take long since the gun itself is hollow. However, I need to adjust the enchantment within that gun, so I will have to start from scratch. It should take at least a week or two."
Nathan nodded. "Can I trouble you to make one for me?"
"Of course. I've owed you too much, especially becoming a part of all this… If it's not too much to ask, I would also like to record your gun. It's better to record the development of the gun," he explained.
"That's fine by me. However, I will wait until the new gun is created. After all, I'm going on a mission tomorrow. I will definitely need my weapon."@@novelbin@@
"Certainly." Elder Thompson nodded. "Is there anything you would like to say regarding the new gun?"
"Mhmm? Not really?" Nathan shook his head. "There are a few types of guns I do have in mind, but they're not really suitable for my fighting style…"

"A few types?" Elder Thompson's eyes brightened.
"Ahahaha. I will tell you later. Even though I won't be the one using it, other people might use it in the future." Nathan waved his hand.
"Indeed." Elder Thompson nodded. "I understand. I'll wait for your next visit."
Nathan smiled before taking his leave. He had asked Flora to regroup with him to discuss their plan, but he still had one more place to visit, and that was Vivian's place.
He quietly opened the door to her workshop, finding Vivian so focused on the blueprint on the table that she didn't notice him.
Nathan's expression couldn't help but melt. After knowing the truth of the Bloody Banquet, he was amazed by his teacher.
When he imagined what he would do if Fenrir or anyone else died, he might have a hard time to recover.
The courage to stand back up after such a traumatic experience… Not everyone had such a thing.
"Husband. What are you doing here?" Charlotte raised her head, noticing Nathan's presence.
"Hmm? What are you doing here? Are you planning to leave for another mission?" Vivian asked.
"Yeah." Nathan nodded. "Is everything working alright?"
"Yep. There aren't a lot of problems. Once I manage these three problems, I should be able to go out and hunt some aliens." Vivian nodded. "It shouldn't take more than two or three months, I think?"
"In that case…" Nathan paused for a moment. "I hope that in the future, I can become strong enough to stand by your side, Teacher. At that time, let's go on one or two missions together."
Vivian raised her eyebrows before smiling. "Sure. Let's do that in the future. You need to get stronger fast, you know?"
"Of course. That's the plan." Nathan nodded. He turned to Charlotte. "By the way, the reason for me coming here is that I want to know the progress of the research regarding my blood. Do you know anything about my blood, especially if I can use my blood again?"
"Hmm…" Charlotte crossed her arms. "I do have something to tell, but I still haven't found out the answer as to whether it's alright to donate your blood or not.
"First of all, I have told you about the blood linked to the body and soul, right?"
"Yes."
"Because of this reason, there is a difference between getting injured and donating your blood to a vampire. When you're injured, you will shed your blood, which is like normal blood…Hmm, how do I explain this? Biological blood? I'm not entirely sure. Let's just say normal blood for the time being.
"Meanwhile, the one you donate to the vampire belongs to the second category. This blood contains a concentrated amount of ena and soul. Do you feel much more tired physically and mentally when a vampire sucks your blood? Have you ever compared it to a condition where you shed a lot of blood through bleeding?
"Even when the same amount of blood is coming out of your body, have you ever felt that the second scenario will make you much more tired?"
"Mhmm…" Nathan looked down, recalling every time he was injured. "Most of the time, my injury is healed by Anubis, so there aren't a lot of times where I reach that point. Besides, Anubis can heal even the soul, so I'm not really sure."
"As expected…" She crossed her arms. "There's a possibility that Anubis might be the way for you to not get the side effect of donating too much blood. Of course, it has to be controlled. If you lose all your blood or your body receives a certain amount of blood that contaminates the amount of your original blood, the side effect will occur.
"You might still be able to donate your blood and use it for contracts as long as you have Anubis around and do it in moderation. The problem will be the amount of blood. At the very least, let me confirm this theory first. It shouldn't take too long. Maybe a month."
"I see." Nathan felt relieved. Although he had to wait for confirmation, knowing he could donate his blood again was relieving. He nodded. "I understand. Please keep up the good work."
What do you think?
