Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 666 Mayor Kevin

"What should we do…"

"But that person can heal big sister, right?"

"Can the priest do the same?"

"I don't know. I've heard that the priests can help you with a small wound, but I have never heard of anyone with a broken limb getting healed in the temple."

"Does that mean they're much more amazing than the priest in the temple?"

The girl bit her lips. They were arguing, but they didn't have a deep enough understanding about the situation. That was why they focused on the healing process instead of the reward.

In this place, the only ones who could sense the hidden intention behind Nathan's reward were probably her and her twin brother.

If they accepted it, there might be some risks involved. What if other kids got harmed because of their decision?

"Big sister. I think we should just do whatever that man wants us to do."

"That's right. It's for you, big sister."

"I can endure it if he wants to beat me up. As long as he can cure big sister."

"If only I could exchange places with Big Sister… I'd rather get myself injured than see Big Sister, who has been helping us, get injured from protecting us."

Getting confronted by their sincere feelings, the girl bit her lips, not knowing what to do. She couldn't help but glance at her twin brother. "What should we really do…"

He simply smiled and shrugged. "I will follow your decision. However, if I have to say it, I would rather see you become healthy again, sister."

"…" The girl looked down as her body was shaking.

While they were discussing what to do, Nathan and Flora had finally arrived at the mayor's mansion.

"Stop. Do you have any business with the mayor?" The guards stopped them with a stern face.

Nathan examined them for a moment before saying, "We've made an appointment with the mayor. If you tell them that the 'representatives' have arrived, he will let us inside."

Nathan took out the letter and showed them the seal of the Holy Kingdom, but he was not handing over such an important letter to them.

"!!!" Seeing the official seal on the letter, the guards panicked for a second. They exchanged looks before one of them stepped forward. "Please wait for a moment. I will ask the mayor about it."

Nathan nodded.

To the other soldier's surprise, three minutes after the first soldier entered the mansion, they returned together with the mayor himself. The mayor was rushing as if his life depended on it.

"Ha… Ha… Ha… I apologize for making you wait." The mayor panted heavily while apologizing.

Nathan nodded. "It's fine. We don't mind about it. However, we don't wish to waste more time. Can we enter and talk about the business?"

"Yes, sir." He nodded furiously and immediately led Nathan inside.

After reaching the mayor's office, Nathan handed over the letter while taking his seat.

The mayor abruptly opened it and checked the content as if he was expecting certain content.

The mayor finished in less than ten seconds. His face turned pale as sweat drenched his back.

He hurriedly ran to Nathan and Flora before falling to one knee. "This lowly mayor, Kevin, greets the esteemed summoner Nathan and Your Highness Crown Princess Flora."

Surprisingly, the mayor actually put Nathan's name before Flora, which showed that his status was actually above Flora's.

It was rather surprising, so he was kind of curious about what the Pope wrote on that piece of paper.

Nathan nodded calmly. "Have they told you anything?"

"No. I'm only aware that I have to follow your instructions to the best of my ability!"

Nathan sighed before turning to Flora.

Flora opened her mouth. "Please rise, Mayor Kevin. Make yourself comfortable. The situation is rather dire, so I'd like you to listen to me."

"Yes." The mayor stood up, still not daring to sit together with them.

"We have a mission directly from the Pope. So, we would like your cooperation. Since you are already aware of our identities, the details will be explained by this gentleman here."

"Understood."

Nathan raised two fingers. "Do you have the city's layout and some pieces so that I can explain it clearly?"

"Yes. Please wait for a moment." The mayor nodded and grabbed the map from the shelf in the corner before bringing several triangle blocks from the drawer.

They laid the map on top of the table, allowing Nathan to see everything here.

After that, he summoned Jinwu.

"Is it time for me to shine?" Jinwu was excited because this was the time he could show that Nathan's decision in making him the strongest wasn't a mistake.

'It talked. A crow… Wait, the crow has three legs. Is this the legendary beast summoner, Nathan?' The mayor's heart skipped a beat.

Nathan stopped Jinwu for a moment. "Our mission is the eradication of the Crimson Skeleton."

"The Crimson Skeleton…" He gasped. "But sir… they are…"

"I know how dangerous they are. It might not be really convincing to only have the two of us here to handle them, but we're planning to annihilate them.

"A normal plan won't work, but we should be able to defeat them as long as I have your support, Mayor Kevin.

"First of all, we need to know their hideout," Nathan explained.

"If it's their hideout, it should be this place." The mayor pointed at a certain building.

"You idiot. That's not their hideout." Jinwu interjected.

"W-What?" The mayor was startled. He had been keeping an eye on them but never subjugated them because of the lack of manpower.

Jinwu, on the other hand, landed on top of the map and grabbed a chalk with his third leg while creating three circles on the map. "This is their area from what I can see. The biggest circle is their entire area, which includes their subordinates.

"The smaller one is their inner area. I can see that they're letting their own summoners live in this area. There are also a lot of places guarded heavily.

"Last but not least, this building. Although the one that he pointed out earlier was important, it wasn't their real hideout.

"I had seen it with my own eyes. A lot of people entered pretty much easily. It could be like a bar or whatever that allows them to gather, but their hideout should be this building. I've seen a summoner entering this building, and he has to enter carefully, including saying some password to enter the building."
